- It's time for my annual pre-Christmas escape, a tradition dating back as far as the Ohura incident.
This time I'm headed somewhere new, loaded with ideas and opportunities, hoping for better weather than 2022. What awaits are some of the most beautiful moments of solitude in the early hours of the morning.

Thanks for the video man, I forgot all about those Waikato river trails I saw them once driving past maybe 8 years ago [before I was MTB mad!] TrailForks doesn't really show much recent info, did you ride them all or have you got any recent intel? I imagine cyclone Gabrielle wrecked them but maybe they've been repaired? It's a reeeeeeeeally long drive down from Whangarei if they aren't rideable 😶
I only rode that section. The Waikato River Trails FB page is always really into it with updates on maintenance and issues. They’re pretty proactive in keeping things open.
