- Roman Reigns Dropping The WWE Titles? Rumors are going around that Roman Reigns won't be champion after Saturday...
Ever since winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38 against Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns signed a new contract to become a part-timer. He’s missed a lot of PPV’s because of it and has barely shown up to Monday Night RAW. The USA network isn’t happy about it. The fans aren’t happy. And Triple H is reportedly not too happy about it either. There were reports that broke out today stating that he might drop one or both of the titles. Let me read the tweet from WrestleVotes, who’s a very reliable account. The tweet states: “For the first time in a long time, there has been some discussions creatively regarding Roman Reigns dropping the title(s). I’m hearing multiple ideas have intrigued those making the final call come Saturday in Cardiff. Should be an interesting week ahead…” According to this report, it seems like a lot of ideas have been floating around to have him drop the titles. An idea that I can think of is having Austin Theory show up to the PPV and specifically cash in on the WWE championship. Would it make sense to have him only cash in on one title rather than two? Of course not, but we’re at the point where we gotta do what we gotta do in order to have him drop one of those titles. With this idea, Roman Reigns can still retain the Universal Championship and he doesn’t look weak either since Theory cashed in after a gruesome match with Drew McIntyre. I wouldn’t be opposed to this idea. I’m fine with a part-time Roman Reigns holding only the Universal Championship. The WWE title can definitely main event PPV’s in the meantime. Austin Theory winning the belt at such a young age could do so much for his career as well. You can’t really complain about it. We need young stars and this would most certainly catapult him into that top main event scene. He doesn’t even really need to hold it for too long. A reign that could last a few months is fine. Theory could lose the belt to someone like Seth Rollins or Randy Orton down the line. Both of these men would be perfect options to be that number one guy for Monday Night RAW. They’d be good placeholders as well for when Cody comes back. At WrestleMania, you can have Cody vs Seth in their fourth match with the title on the line. If not that, Cody vs Randy would be just as good. They have a lot of history with each other. If Theory doesn’t cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase this Saturday, then this report can allude to Drew McIntyre beating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship. With the way he’s being booked, I could see it happening. McIntyre feels like a true superstar. He feels bigger than he did when he held the WWE title in 2020. That’s how you book a wrestler. Being the babyface he is, I could see him opting to defend the championships separately. Drew could show up to RAW and get involved with someone like Rollins or KO for the WWE title while being in a feud with someone like Karrion Kross for the Universal Championship. This way, he can drop the WWE title sometime in the near future while taking over SmackDown as the Universal Championship. Roman Reigns could disappear for some time before coming back for his big time match with The Rock at WrestleMania 39. He doesn’t really need that title going into the match anyways. I can totally see one of these two ideas happening. I’d be honestly happy with either taking place. Like I said, Drew has become a serious contender, but I’d also be down for the Theory cash-in. It all depends on what WWE wants to do moving forward. I am glad that Triple H realized this unified championship hasn’t been a good idea, especially since Roman became a part timer. Clash at the Castle just got that much more interesting

Drew could win them but then he could lose the Wwe title to Rollins and the universal title to Cody
Here's what will happen:
•Drew beats Roman
•Roman takes time off
•Drew defends WWE title against KO (from Raw) on the next PPV
•Drew has double duty and in the same night defends the Universal Title against Karrion Kross (from SD)
•Drew beats KO
•Kross beats Drew
This way, you make Kross look like a million bucks, and protects Drew since he already had a match against KO
Definitely like the idea of it being in the contract that MITB is only good for one title and have Theory say he wants the WWE title. I would actually have Drew win at Clash and Theory cash in at the next US PLE so that they both get their own separate moments. Drew stays on SD with the Universal and Theory goes on to face guys like Ziggler, KO, Riddle, Randy, and eventually lose to Seth to set up Seth vs Cody 4

All I know is after Roman Reigns loses the championship belts he doesn't need another shot for a long a time.
Have Drew Vs Roman for both championships, they go for about 30-45 mins then “A-Town down” hits Austin cashes in but they announce that this match is now a triple threat for the WWE championship, Austin pins Drew and boom one belt off Roman. Next night on Raw it’s revealed that the MITB can only be cashed on 1 championship. Austin goes on to say he chose the WWE championship to give the fans of RAW a true champion that they deserve.
You can have a lot of things now happen from here, Roman continues a historic reign, Raw has its champion now, brand split would be easier, survivor series can be champion Vs champion
Roman isn't a part-timer like john cena or batista.. he is still very much in the picture and is on shows pretty often.. i think thats a good spot for the champion.. that way it also makes room for the intercontinental & us title to feel important.. i think he should hold it for some more time.. i think this reign should go down as a legendary one in the history books so they should aim to make it as long as the ones in the record books.. and when someone does win it from him, then maybe it should be unified into 1 belt..
To me personally I don't think its time yet. I know he has had the title for a while yes true. But it not time yet its still to early for him to lose it. I think the best time for him to loss is to Cody Rhodes he deserves it more than anyone
Nah your right Cody rhodes should be champ but I don’t think he deserves more then anyone he’s not the only one who should be champ I think drew beating him this Saturday is the best move especially since it’s in the UK he can have his moment with his ppl it’s great.

Austin should keep the contract till mid next year and should now start a feud with Gargano and after that with Dexter.
Roman on the other hand can drop the title/-s at Survivor Series to Seth to do a circle there and from there Cody and Seth can do ther World Title feud. And at the Rumble Roman can start with the Rock...
Facts, and then they can do a storyline where theory is scared to lose his contract, but he has until MITB to cash it in. He can wait and wait and wait, and then Rollins and Cody, whoever is the champ, could be feuding with someone else by then, or maybe even gargano, and then let’s say gargano wins, and then that’s when theory comes out of nowhere in his last chance at MITB, to win in the main event of the PPV. I think that makes sense and it comes full circle too, plus it gives gargano a main eventer role + shortly winning the title, to then go on and feud with theory once again.

Cody and Seth could have their conclusion to their feud in Wm 39 Night 1 in probably a ladder match for who gets a universal title shot in the next night while in the main event Rock and Roman face with Roman winning (No titles on the line) then Cody beats Roman for the Universal title in Night 2
I actually think that's a good idea also I think it makes more since to have Theory to win just the WWE Championship from cashing in the Money in the bank if not maybe Drew Mycinture can take the title off of him but at the same time my own personal bias I personally just don't want Reigns to lose the universal championship but I agree they need to take one of the Titles off of him
I don’t want the titles to stay unified. It makes the champion feel more bland imo as you’re seeing him as much.

I find it so funny that people like Solomonster for example (no hate, i love the guy) wanted these titles to be unified, but like before, they RUIN it and even him wants the titles to be separated now, you unify the titles and basically ruin the whole thing, every time.
There is no logical kayfabe explanation why Theory would cash in for the WWE Championship and not for the Universal since it has way more prestige.
I personally think a mid card talent needs to step up and become either WWE or Universal champion to boost there career to be known as the one he Beat Roman Reigns like Theory or Some big NXT wrestlers / Carmello hayes / Bron breakker and many more

At some point Roman has to loose the title to someone, someone has to break his dominant streak. Drew would be the best choice to dethrone Roman and end the God Mode.

brock was 25 when he became the youngest world champion in wwe history, i think theory would beat him by a few days if he won the wwe title at cardiff he's also 25 that would be HUGE for theory and i wouldn't be opposed to it.
I could see Drew, Seth or Cody to really dethrone Roman but I really don't know what to expect at CATC. Speaking about it it may be PPV of the year I can't wait 🔥

I'd love to see Roman and Paul conspire a contract with Pearce next week and have it so the WWE champion is on the line so at clash of the castle we get theory or Sami attack Roman personally would prefer Sami so the story is that Sami feels disrespected that he took claymore kicks etc and is still not on the t-shirt and how he doesn't feel apart of the family and the bloodline anyway the next ppv after clash at the castle at we can get Roman and Sami's match ending in a draw and at the end of the match we could get Roman stand up first and offer his hand to Sami making it final that he is apart of the family and has joined the bloodline so the story wont feel that big but it would work amazingly

Unifying the belts was a bad idea to begin with.
Drew winning for one of his titles (let alone at least one of them) then it could easily benefit his rising feud with Karrion Kross.
Theory would be a good placeholder champion so another main eventer can be champion heading into Mania.

I hope Roman keeps it. Nobody is worthy of beating him. He is the biggest superstar of the past decade. If they really want to take the title off him, they should book a ladder match where both titles are hung, have roman grab the Uni title and his opponent grab the WWE title and have them both fall over at the same time. With that you have 2 working titles again.

TLC match. Like both grabbing 1 title each and breaking table together instantly new champion.
Royal rumble title match with one of his titles on the line and gets eliminated. Instantly new champ.

Here goes the big text: In my opinion January would be the best month to make Roman and Bloodline lose the titles, because in January we will have 2 premium live events, Day1 and Royal Rumble, so Roman could lose the universal title in Day1 and the Usos also lost the tag team titles on the same night, as Roman would continue as WWE Champion (RAW exclusive title) he would make EXCLUSIVE appearances on Raw, something he hasn't done since his 2020 comeback, so, From January onwards, we would see a different Roman, lunatic, obsessed and always in frequent discussions with the Usos and then you would put Seth Rollins in the middle, because in the Royal Rumble of 2022, Seth defeated Roman via DQ, that is Roman never beat Rollins and Seth in first place and he would always be playing these mind games about it, driving Roman crazy. At the Royal Rumble Seth would defeat Roman clean, putting Roman's situation as "The head of the table" in check and then we could see The Rock return to rival Roman towards WM. In the same Royal Rumble I would see Cody Rhodes returning and winning the RR Match and then heading to WM in rivalry with Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship he promised so much to his father.

Roman holding one of the world titles was fine holding both was a dumb decision. My hope is Theory cashes in mid match because he's a raw star the match would only be for WWE title turning Drew vs Roman in a three way for the WWE Title. Drew Claymores Theory pins him becomes WWE Champion. That way Drew get his moment in the UK Reigns keeps the Universal title & doesn't get pinned & the Austin Theory main event experiment ends. Theory ain't ready to be a main eventer right now he was given to much to soon & fans weren't ready to accept him as a top guy. So by having him lose to Gargano & then fail his cash in at Clash you slowly build him back up maybe in few years when the fans accept him as a top guy you pull the trigger but he's not there yet & you need to get the Vince stink of him

Theory winning the WWE Title makes sense being that the title is a Vince McMahon creation and it would be a nod to him as Theory will always have that link.
I think Roman losing the Universal title to Drew would make sense but holding off until Cody Rhodes returns makes sense if HHH can get on board remember there is some heat between Cody and Hunter apparently still idk.
Kross would be a unique choice however Idk if we will even see him in the show overseas because vax status was a big reason for his release last year but maybe some places are getting easier on that finally especially with the CDC even admitting no difference between vaxxed and unvaxxed folks for places.
Bray Wyatt returning would be unique too however he's to me like a Undertaker where he won't need a title to get over still.
Roman has been Universal champion since August or September 2020 and hasn't been that ratings draw needed for WWE since. Merchandise internationally he's been solid but I think the company wants to turn the page and go in a new direction and it feels like its time.

Drew beats roman at clash, Roman is furious and embarrassed, he becomes so desperate to prove himself after loosing the titles he calls out the rock and sets up a non title match at wrestlmania, meanwhile drew dominates as champ for a bit but cody returns at the royal rumble and takes the win earning a title shot at wrestle mania against drew, theory cashes in on drew and cody and takes the titles at wrestlmania setting up a feud between cody and theory, eventually cody would take the tiles off of theory ending the feud and unifies the two belts into 1 bringing back the winged eagle title, they redo the brand split shortly after signing Cody to raw and drew to smack down, smack down dosent have a championship so they introduce a brand new one like in 2016 and it has a cool design hopefully, eventually drew wins that title on smack down and at clash of champions or survivor series cody and drew have a champion vs champion match settling the score since neither of them beat each other at wrestle mania

The reason why the midcard belts feel prestigious now is because of not only good booking, but also of brand-specific supremacy.
Roman Reigns is the biggest star right now because there's literally no one else on his level. And succeeding undisputed champs should get the same treatment.
Splitting the top belts for the two brands is so childish. Few is better because scarcity is equal to value.
