I'd be very disappointed to turn something that's a nice, light, well-worn hue into something darker. Anything out there that doesn't darken leather whilst nourishing it adequately?
So did this product 'Darken' the look of the bag or did it get lighter as it dried? I really liked the colour of my leather bag when I bought it, but over time and much use, it darkened a lot. Will this cleaner help to lighten it at all? Thanks!
You need to clean the leather BEFORE applying oils/waz based product. Then 24 hrs after applying oil/wax based product apply a sealer as well like resolene. Then you get no dye leakage etc. Not cleaning it before applying oil/wax based product clogs the pores of the leather as the oils seep into the leather trying to take the dirt with it.
Im sure Chamberlains products are great or Dave would not be using them nor would he be selling them on his website. I bought Dave's medium chestnut briefcase plus 2 of his chestnut leather pouches that I attach to each end of the briefcase so I can carry more crap, I think in 2007, when they came with a 400 year warranty. Over the years, the briefcase has lost some of it's shape, mainly the front panel where the buckles are attached. No longer flat. Other than that, and a few wrinkles here and there, they are the same as when I first bought them! There was no recommended leather care at the time. So, I did my research, about 2 weeks worth and found Lexol non-darkening Leather Dressing. This is non-darkening neatsfoot that's used on saddles. I apply it using a premium paint trimming brush, which I only use for applying Lexol with. A day after applying, I wipe off any excess that was not absorbed into the leather. I do that once every 2 or 3 years, to maintain the correct amount of oils in the leather to keep it supple and awesome. Semper Fi
Looks like you need another application or two. You should be able to buff it to a shine like you would your good leather shoes. You could use a soft shoe brush and a clean buffing cloth.
Springfield Liz Thanks! My 9 month video should be up in a few minutes. I pretty much use it everyday. The leather milk really cleaned up a lot of the scratches, but after a month, there's a bunch more! I'm really happy with how the leather milk changed the color of the bag.
lol if you travel to paris and purchase it there it won't be a hefty price, the reason lv is so expensive cuz the government taxes on luxury. For the price I would rather go onto etsy and ask a leather artisan to work out a bag for me than to pay hefty amount to some known brand

It's worth it. Have you seen my 9 year review?
@@MyFireVideos Nope, but now that you mention it, I might :)
I would buy a backpack as it's easy to carry for longer
I got this for business meetings

I think it just darkens, not lightens. You can watch my first Saddleback video and then this one and see the difference.
Your bag was beautiful to begin with. Is this just to keep it from drying out over time?
Danny Shark Yes exactly.

Is there a tutorial you can suggest?
Scorned cat at 7:38 😂 "How could you daddy?"

+fleetwoodray Thanks for the info! I wonder if I did anything wrong to get colored residue on my clothing 24 hours after using the product...

Yeah! You should see it now after 4 years! It really needs another conditioning. I think I need to use a qtip and really get in there
What size is your case? Medium or Large? Thanks.
***** Large. Thanks for watching!
You need to beat that bag up, it looks too new!
Lol! Great video!

+Le Nguyen Dang, I just looked at those bags online. I thought Saddleback Leather bags were expensive!
I should have known this bag earlier. I just knew it because I saw my friend was carrying it. Affordable price and good quality. Good choices.
