In the springtime, with fresh rains and muddy water, the mud line holds active fish much of the time. As you said, it warms faster but that's also where the baitfish hide. All fish use this as an ambush line. For Lake Erie walleye, we always look for a mud line and usually find active suspended fish there. It's a tricky subject and many people ignore details like these.
Hey Matt, thanks for continuing to cover good subjects. I’m glad you stay away from tournament politics and controversy. Waiting out the rain right now to go to this afternoon. We’ve had about 2 1/2 inches. Won’t really be that much of an impact to the lower portion of the lake however, it will discolor it. This only happens every couple years!! I’m expecting an awesome spinner bait bite. When the lower lake is clear the spinner bait bite, isn’t that good! Have a good day!
Super great information and I can vouch for exactly what you are saying just because Im older and have witnessed these things in different water conditions… well Im not that old, haha!!!
@@MattStefanFishing i will have to look for it. The lakes i fish are gin clear and deep -usually 80’ or more. Spring time is usually the clearest time of the year thanks
Hey Matt, how can anyone say they’re actually fishing when they’re using electronics that can see the fish and even their bait? What would happen if the tournaments did away with electronics?
The good anglers still would catch it just makes it more convenient to not waste time fishing where theres no fish. As a newer shore fisherman i wish i could know sometimes😅
Why should i dictate how others choose to fish. Nobody is forcing anyone to use electronics. Fishing should be enjoyed in anymore that angler chooses IMO
@@insertname941…what a text-book example on so many levels as to what this sport has turned into. I hope Matt read your comment. A newer shore angler who is defending FFS….smh. That’s where fishing is now. First off, how can you possibly calibrate “good” under these circumstances? That’s like judging how good a bowler is, who’s using bumper-guards. Have you ever seen a pro bass tournament won by someone who DIDN’T use FFS? Think of the lack of credibility a person has when even REMOTELY insinuating that FFS is just another tool in the boat, that professionals could easily do without, yet, those very “professionals” spend tens of thousands of dollars on that very technology, all while unconditionally REFUSING to fishing a tournament without it. There’s a reason it’s called fishing, and not hunting, and these so-called professionals should be the one group of people who can put on a clinic without that crap. And, I’ll tell you something else that’s far more important, that again is astonishingly lost on these “pro’s”…. You can’t catch fish that aren’t there. Within 5yrs that technology is going ot be on every boat on fisheries that are already hanging by a thread. America’s most well-known fisheries having been taking a massive hit LONG before FFS came on the scene. Go ask a veteran fisherman if the fishing today is as good as it was 30-40yrs ago…..I GUARANTEE you they’ll say it’s not even close. And, that includes whatever shore YOU are fishing from, as well. It’s also why the responsible fisherman practice catch & release. I haven’t had a fish fry in my home in 15+yrs, because, every fish I potentially fillet is a fish that can’t spawn or be caught by someone else. We all have an obligation to make sure our actions don’t effect anything, or anyone in a negative manner. Just like we all have an obligation to call out the selfish, entitled, hypocritical, co-dependents, who could care less how their actions effect other people, as long as their needs are being met. And, there’s a lot of that going around these days. But, I digress…. Slow down and learn to enjoy a day on, or by, the water. There’s no such thing as an “inconvenient” day of fishing.
People have it so ingrained into their heads to always fish the cleanest water. I told a guy at the bait shop to throw this theory out the window at a lake I guide at this particular time of year and he looked at me like I had 9 eyes when I told him to fish off colored water. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink. Excellent topic on water clarity I haven’t seen this posted on RUclips as well as you presented it

Good tips Matt 👍
Thanks 👍
No April fools spinning rod Todd got me good.👍👍👍👍👍
Haha
On natural lakes here in Michigan the water clarity never varies in the lakes
That’s not usually true a sting wind will stir up the water

Does Bridgford have a sugar free jerky without seed oil?
You would have to ask them

Thanks for watching
This is not something you see a lot on. Welcome more on this topic!
Thanks
Honestly I like fishing when it’s off color to chocolate milk. Bass locations are very predictable and I tend to do better
Good stuff
No ffs event happening now. Same ffs guys leading this one without ffs or 360
A good angler is a good angler….those guys were catching them before FFS
