Scary, Sherry
They call her Scary Sherry, don't know why they do
But she's got a scar for every crack she's ever fallen through
She counts days like chains, every link's the same
Each one as heavy as all her yesterdays
Ain't it scary, Sherry
How human life can mean so little to so many
Ain't it scary, Sherry
It could just as easily be me
Coffee cup for change and a smoke in her other hand
Out on the street in pajama pants and a coat from the Sally Ann
More to be pitied than feared, doesn't anybody care
She lashes out cause she's the one who's scared
Ain't it scary, Sherry
How human life can mean so little to so many
Ain't it scary, Sherry
It could just as easily be me
Seemingly callously people walk on by
Without a word or the nerve to look her in the eyes
Ain't it scary, Sherry
How human life can mean so little to so many
Ain't it scary, Sherry
It could just as easily be me
It could just as easily be me
