Traditional Ford fan here but this was a brilliant win for Holden. They were definitely the underdogs that year being up against the best of the Sierras and the still underbaked Godzilla. Always loved seeing Gricey win at Bathurst too. Only snagged a couple but they were both hard-fought.
Well, it's a strange one, mate... because, two days of the 1990 Labour Day weekend were in September (29-30) with the Holiday on October 1... and it occurs like that 4 times every 28 years... the first day of said weekend is September 30 on four other occasions in that same 28-year period. it's not like the Queen's Birthday Weekend, which is always in June (in NSW, at least). So, 1989, it was September 30-October 2, with the race on Oct 1, and in 1990, race day was September 30 - which, if memory serves, was the last time the race was staged in September.

Thank you for posting this video. It was excellent and brought back some great memories.
In 1990 as well as running Allan Moffatt's Sierras Eggenberger was also running the Opel Omega/Vauxhall Carlton GSi 3600 in the DTM
Thanks for that great job putting it on youtube. Really enjoyed it
Love how Mike Raymond mentioned the Labour day weekend as being in September 🤔

Labor Day in the US is in September.....
Gary Wilkinson (the first Bathurst he missed since 1977) and Neil Crompton were not in the commentary team in 1990
Unfortunately what was the traditional date was hijacked by the NRL
Awesome thanks mate you are the best
