We had ours done last year (2019 Grand Design Transcend 28MKS). I’m not able to get up on the roof to check seals regularly. The cost of the roof is definitely less than medical costs if I fell off the roof!
We had ours done at RV ROOF GREENSBORO. That’s in North Carolina. They made a repair where there was a leak and we had them to add a second AC unit since they had to remove the old vent. We would highly recommend these guys!!!
Last year I washed the EPDM roof of my 35ft, 1999 motorhome with TSP, resealed some aging caulking and coated it with Henry's Tropicool 887 100% waterproof, highly reflective, silicone roof coating that also comes with a lifetime warranty. It cost about $350 for the material and about 2 days of labor to do it myself. I'm super happy with the results and the most importantly the price.
Glad it worked out for you guys! 🙂
Last September we had the flex armor roof put on our solitude 5th wheel after we went to Myrtle beach and tree caught the top of the roof as it ripped all the way to the air conditioning. We had to duck tape the roof on (rv tape i call it duck tape lol). GPS (Garmin) took us on a holler in Kentucky (we should not have been there took a wrong turn)
We went to the Michigan flex armor dealer. He just opened so it was meant to be. We are so happy with our roof
The same roof replacement was almost the same price.
We had our toy hauler done 5 years ago. You guys will love the piece of mind.
That’s awesome. Thank you
I see that Talona Ridge shirt! We love it there and it's only about a 30min trip from our house.
Yes, we actually have our annual gathering there in November. Love the location and the people!
It looks like they did a good job on yours, I did a similar process on our hauler, I stripped it down removed all ACs, etc. sealant, and silicone, cleaned it with solvent, used an industrial-grade self-etching primer, and then sprayed 4 coats of Flex Seal white liquid rubber sealant coating with a smiler spry rig as they used. ended up being bright gloss white and repels water fast and it is slippery. That was 4 1/2 years ago, it’s bulletproof! We've had tree branches fall on it. It went through a hurricane in Florida and sandblasted out west where we live the temp in the summer averages 110 degrees and no humidity, and looks like we just did it yesterday... It costs around $375 total project for a 40-foot toy hauler. good easy way to go if you are a DIY person it’s not a lot of work to get done. We are very happy with the results, I think the roof is going to out last the rest of the hauler lol… Jk.. glad you got it done and you’re happy with it.
Good job. and great video content.

Glad yours worked out. I've heard of others doing the same thing and it didn't last as long as yours. I'm sure it all comes down to the prep work. We are super excited to have this done especially now that I don't have 100 holes in the roof holding solar panels! lol
@1StrangeAdventure, I totally agree. The holes would worry me too, but I'm glad it's working well for you now.
I HAD THE AUTHORIZED FLEX ARMOR DEALER IN PASCO WASHINGTON, TRAVELERS DESTINATION, INSTALL MY NEW ROOF IN AUGUST 2023. BEST RV IMPROVEMENT MONEY SPENT. THE OWNER AT TRAVELERS DESTINATION, DOUG SHOCK, AND HIS CREW THERE RUN A FIRST CLASS OPERATION.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
What a piece of mind!
Totally agree!
We did our Canyon Star done 2 years ago, love it !!
That’s awesome!! Glad you like it!
We had our 2015 Reflection 337 done. There was a class action on the original roof and Dicor provided some compensation which helped with the cost of the Flex Armor roof. Really great product. No regrets at all.
Sounds like you guys are happy with the decision. We are too!
We had our roof done on our Newmar by Flex Armor and when they put the awning back on they run the new screws through some wires that made our outside security light, awning and our propane furnace not work anymore. They paid for all of the bill to get it fixed and then we have to go back at the end of this month to get it resprayed.
Sorry to hear that happened but glad it is being resolved!
Thanks for sharing, mate! Looks like an awesome product! Stay Awesome! < fist pump >
We agree, it’s a great product.
Ok, pardon my language, this is badass!!!!!!!!!X1,000! Wow. I am curious about the cost? I know you cannot disclose that, but DAYUM!! Cool video Harold, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate the support.
I get the feeling you can purchase a good, used fifth wheel for the cost of this roof.
If you have to replace a skylight can you touch up that part of the roof yourself or do you need to bring it back to them
Now that I have their skylight, it can be repaired without having to touch up any of the roof.
What was the cost to have it done, I also have a 45 foot 5th wheel. I did look at the web page but it gives a starting price not what a 45 foot roof would cost. Thank you in advance.
The best option would be to call them bc there are factors I wouldn't be able to account for. If you call the location in Keystone Heights, FL... be sure to tell them you saw our video.
Need a place up in Canada in ontario to be blunt lol.
We are trying.
This stuff sounds just like Rhino liner that goes in truck beds. It is also mixed as it is spayed and comes out hot and drys instantly.
It may be the same process but there is a big difference in texture and feel.
It is same science, different product and processes. Bedliners are designed to be a hard protective shell and adhere to the sanded paint of a truck bed. FlexArmor is a different product and has processes that allow for adhesion to all substrates on an RV and the ability to stay flexible through all weather changes. I always use the paint anaolgy. Craft paint, house paint and car paint are all paint but they are designed for different uses, same with polyureas. You have different grades and formulas for different uses and end results.
Scratch the post I did about the skylight repair
LOL.. I replied to the other comment before seeing this one.
Cost?
It’s different for each RV. Give them a call and be sure to tell them we sent you for a little extra off!
Approx $200 per foot of length. Depends on how much work they need to do: 3 A/C removed and reinstalled, 10 plus solar panels removed and reinstalled, remove and reinstall 1-2 or 3 roof fans, repairs to the under roof etc could run the bill to over $400 per foot. But for a life time of no worries, well worth it!
They quoted me 190 a foot for my 35 footer. That included the removal. After tax I was at 7k. Decided not to do it.
Craftsman tools have a lifetime warranty and of course series is no longer in business so it’s at warranty still good and this roofing company offers a lifetime warranty but isn’t that just the lifetime of the company and not your roof? Just curious.
It is the lifetime of the company. Unfortunately, that is true for all things and there are no guarantees on how long a company will be in business. We have been in business for close to 20 years and have a network of over 34 applicators and growing so we are striving to make sure we don't end up like Sears and Craftsman.
