Goldson and Hitner damn they were fun to watch
The last 2 super bowls have hurt, but not beating Baltimore still is crushing, loved that team

If the rule change for leading with your helmet didn’t change his playstyle so much he would have gone down as one of the hardest hitting safety of all time… Dawkins and reed were lucky the careers were ending around the time of the rule change… our whole life’s we are trained to light the receivers up ( coach called it “ answering the phone”) and I felt like refs picked on him as soon as the rule change took place

Played with this dude in Juco! Also played with Brandon Jacobs. But Goldson was the baddest dude I ever saw on the field.

Hawk Goldson was definitely a Heavy Hitter when he destroyed Earl Doucet of the Cardinals

The 49ers best Safeties(equal number of FS and SS players):
Lott(could play any defensive back position and was a HOF level FS/SS; 4 rings like Wright below)
McDonald(highly underrated: he has a serious HOF case. Plus, he looked like LB while doing so!)
    Hicks(very underrated. 2-time SB champ!)
Hanks(if Hicks gets in the hall, it is possible that Merton might. However, Hicks is at least a little better in my view. Still, I would not mind putting Merton as my starting FS on a team that was after a championship)
    Parrish
    Goldson
In no particular order, though it is consensus that Lott is, by far, the best 49er S of all-time! The bottom 2 above could lead a team to a multiple rings! That's how quality this list is! Even if you leave off Sanders(who only had 1 year), SF is clearly in the running for best secondary of all time. Let me show you...*
    *At CB,
Johnson(70s all decade and HOFer: probably should have been in quite a bit more than 5 PBs)
Wright(probably the 80s best CB and I feel he would be a HOFer if coverage was the only criteria...4 time 49er champ!)
Abe Woodson(the leader of the Woodson/Alexander CB tandem and quality)
    K. Alexander(36 INTs in seven 49er seasons in 14 game seasons. That's great if it was done in 16 game seasons for 7 seasons of work)
    T. McKyer(had 6 and 7 INT campaigns in four 49er seasons plus 3 rings)
    E. Davis(really turned the corner his last year in SF[though he had a couple of noteworthy seasons even before that in SF], which culminated into him being one of Carolina's best CBs of all time).
