The way I was like “that’s SO logical. I should do that.” And didn’t realize I *was doing the same thing* until I read your comment makes me realize I barely even pay attention to myself.
To be a school counselor (guidance is an outdated term but unfortunately still used by many schools/districts), you do actually need a master’s degree and need to pass the licensure exam! Some states also require you to have experience teaching for ~5 years which is dumb
For my excessive sweating girlies! Went to a dermatologist and was prescribed glycopyrrolate and it changed my life (small pill that blocks moisture receptors)
ive been studying japanese for 7 years now, and i love it so much! currently living in japan and attending a language study program :) the learning curve is steep, but very worth it for me and many others. i gotta say, kendahl mentioned japanese people being so nice to you when you try to speak japanese, but that goes away once you get good enough. i learned that when japanese people say "wow your japanese is so good!" 99% of the time it means the opposite, and they only say it when you make a mistake 😅so glad shes interested in reading tho! that's the hardest skill imo, and its taken me years and years to be able to read novels, and even now its still so so hard. good luck, kendahl! proud of you and excited for you!
Kendahl! Sweaty crotch girl here, that lives in TX. This doesn’t necessarily stop the sweating 💯. BUT, it definitely helped me feel less insecure about my crotch sweat. The Lume cream body deodorant has changed my life. I was super skeptical, and it kinda smells weird, but it doesn’t smell weird on your body. It actually doesn’t smell like anything and neutralized my crotch smell. I still sweat, but not as much, and the fact that it neutralizes my sweaty crotch body odor is a winner. Always recommend for anyone who has crotch sweat and chaffing, cuz i sweat like 9 months out of the year here in central Texas. 😘
you can be a therapist with a masters! could be a licensed social worker or mental health counselors! lots of people like social work because it’s looking at not just the person but all of the oppressive systems! I know a lot of great LMHC’s but find it’s not the same approach to care.
i’m studying in france atm (i’m from australia) and the mean thing is a stereotype that a lot of french people actually agree with. it definitely depends on the region, some people are really accomodating with my child-level french and some just respond in english which i don’t mind. it’s a bit hard to improve my french because most french people speak a bit of english (especially young people) and would prefer not to waste time with my stuttering etc. Depends on the person really
57:56 From one sweaty person to another, I highly reccomend loose athletic shorts with built in underwear. Changed my life. I size up and wear them high waisted and it helps with chafe too 🙏🏻
In response to Sarah’s reading journey: I wrote a memoir about my experience being misdiagnosed with “Conversion Disorder” at age 13, and I had to fight for a proper diagnosis until I was 16. I have an autoimmune disease that causes my body to attack itself, which has left me wheelchair bound. I spent my developing teenage years fighting for my life, as I was facing medical malpractice and parental neglect. I’m 24 now and living a beautiful life that I never could have imagined! I do deal with CPTSD and moderate to severe anxiety, but I work on myself constantly because I don’t want my parents to continue having control over who I am as a person through the trauma they inflicted. It’s a tough story to read, but I feel the same about coping with humor and using it as a tool to connect with people. I am extremely proud of my book and I truly did pour all of myself into it; I think you may really enjoy reading it. If there’s a PO Box or something similar I could send a copy to, I would be honored to send you a copy. I have admired you as a creator for so long and can related to so many of the things you talk about regarding your parents being unloving, being afraid of being perceived, etc. Even if you don’t get around to it, I would love to at least give you a copy of my book! I hope you see this, and I hope to hear back from you (or someone with you) soon.
You don’t need to go to med school to be a therapist. That would be a psychologist. To be a therapist you need a bachelors degree & a masters, so approximately 6 years. It might be different now but I think you can also be a counsellor with just a bachelors, it may be depending on which type though. But definitely no med school. People dealing with people’s mental health should be well trained, it’s good that there is a lot of school to get through. College and university should be free but some jobs should require a lot more training than others. If cops weren’t all trash, I’d say police definitely need way more training than they get. If someone’s looking for a power position a year or less to become a cop or 6 plus years to become a therapist 🤷🏼♀️. So it is a bit different but of course there will always be evil people who become therapists or people who do it for the wrong reasons. Always make sure your therapist has the credentials they say they do. A lot of people are scamming people by calling themselves life coaches & it’s all very dangerous. I’m not even sure how regulated the title of therapist is. Peoples minds are not something to be fucked with. Obviously I have a soft spot for therapists, psychology/therapy is a special interest of mine 😂.. but the moral of the story is you don’t need to go to med school. Also, it’s very normal for students to be diagnosing themselves & everyone around them when they first start in school. As long as they’re not trying to treat anyone or convince anyone & they seek professional guidance if they genuinely think they have an issue then it’s fine. The novelty will likely wear off after a while. Okay love you bye! 🖤
im canadian and i haven't been to france but I have been to quebec on a school trip when I was like 14. majority of them were sooo rude and definitely would not let us try and practice our french 🥲 also I had missed a vaccination in school that year (whooping cough) and when I came back home I managed to catch whooping cough and it lasted 3 months lmao
Omg kendahl’s dedication to filming this after a flight from Japan 😮
I relate to sarah more and more with every episode, I love when she shares her personal interests

As a german can I just say how nice it is when Sarah talks positively about our language, because most people just complain about it 😂
That’s a shame German sounds so cool to me!!

psychologists get a phd or psyd. psychiatrists have to go to med school (they’re the ones who prescribe medications).
