I have one in the 40 meter range and I highly recommend them. Mine work perfect as soon as I placed the batteries in it. I just wish I had the 96 meter model.

Flip over and open battery door? I think n that is all
Can change mode to cm ?
I believe so. This was given away so I can’t check but I am sure it has metric
