I so miss this man..... When I heard what he said at 1:53 to 2:07 , I had to start clapping, as I know now where he is. He is in the presence of Jesus. So open your heart too., invite Jesus to come in, clean you, and be born again, and you too will know LOVE .....and one day hear IZ sing again....
Leah Elam I think people were crying for various reasons; knowing that he was almost on his death bed might be one, but mending the rift between him and his brothers was probably a big part of it! In addition, there are probably very few people in the audience that could actually understand the Hawaiian language...and some of his comments were in that language (as well as some "pidgin" expressions!). I've always loved and respected Iz and his music, and he died much too soon, at the age of 38 years old! I spent 5 years in Hawaii, but he was just a baby when I arrived, but learned to appreciate his talents many years later! The Hawaii state flag flew at half-staff on July 10, 1997, the day of Kamakawiwoʻole's funeral. His koa wood coffin lay in state at the state capitol building in Honolulu. He was the third person in Hawaiian history to be awarded this honor, and the only one who was not a government official. Hopefully, that will help you understand why some folks were crying!
His singing gives a feeling of peace. I just recently heard his music and now I am hooked for good. Such a beautiful man, so sad he left us so early. He will never be forgotten. xxx
I was lucky enough to have grown up listening to his music back when him, Skippy, Moon, John, and Jerome would play every Sunday at our church in Nanakuli, HI. The Christian music they would put forth will always be a blessing to me and my family and the people who attended the Faith, Hope, & Charity church. We were by his side when he passed on and he will never be forgotten. What he said about "putting Jesus in your heart" is so true. Thank you for continuing to bless us with your music. Aloha
IAM SO HAPPY WHEN I LISTEN TO HIM...IAM SO GLAD I FOUND HIM....IAM SO SAD HE PASS AWAY BUT HE LEFT A GREAT MARK ON THIS EARTH...HE TOUCH THE LIFE OF THE ONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING...AND HEAR THAT SOMETHING IN HIS SONGS.. MAY YOU R,I,P

See ya on the other side of the rainbow braddah IZ. love from New Jersey
You don't need to know the words to feel the music go straight to your soul. Iz will live on in all of us that loved him and his beautiful music until we all meet in that piece of paradise that he is saving for us. Hawaii is the closest thing to heaven on earth, and now Iz sings throught the wind to us until we are all one again.
This is Why I love being Hawaiian because of people like this and what a real Hawaiian Represents. LIVE PONO

What a beautiful voice! It is so sad to know such a voice is gone! Made me cry
Musica que toca a alma, ser humano iluminado que veio a terra deixar seu recado em favor da proteção da família,do seu povo e da natureza. Simplesmente fantástico, estou ás lagrimas não deu pra segurar.
Mahalo Unko IZ. Words from the heart of a true Kanaka.
No greater a man, no greater a soul, no greater a Hawaiian.
If I could give you 15 more years of life by giving you mine,
I would. You have impacted the hearts of millions of people
around the world and a generation to come.
I am proud to be Hawaiian and I am proud to have known you Bruddah Iz. Your spirit lives on in everything Hawaiian
and everything that embodies the Aloha spirit.
I love you so much and miss you dearly.
Malama pono,
Moana ;)
Thanks, kaneilikea.
I looked it up. Beautiful song.
I was in Hawaii for 4 hours in July 1980, never got to leave the airport; I was in the Navy and in transit from Subic Bay to Treasure Island (San Fran/Oakland).
Someday I'd like to visit paradise and stop by and pay my respects to IZ. Thanks.
My spirit is Native American and yet I have studied under Rhoda K. Napoleon the Ancient Hawaiian Hula as well as other Polynesian Dance, I have the deepest respect for IZ and he is missed~~ with this being Good Friday, your timing is perfect~~We have an awesome Creator and We are ONE. I posted this to face book and here are just a few comments, in Gratitude, in PLU with Joy and Compassion~~

Filha , este talento , faz falta !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember watching this on TV, i was a little kid. I had no idea who this man was and what he gave to us. But i never forgot him and his Legacy, so here i am. Swimming in my memories and remembering this beautiful legend. The first time I heard he died I just had to cry, cry for the Hawaiian people and everybody else. Love you Bruddah, Aloha from Ukraine 🇺🇦 💖
IZ is beyond words. Thank you IZ.
Mahalo nui loa. For posting, for the lyrics, for explaining what happened so beautifully. I cannot stop crying!
I was there in June 2015 and he's right the Hawaiians are catching hell from big corporations from japan and china. I feel for them
Iz you tell it like it is. It is such a shame that you left us so soon for the Heavenly gates. I wish that more people would listen to your words. The world would be a much better place to live in. We all need to live in peace and respect each other. RIP you ambassador of peace.
