Another reel I purchased about a year ago due to your influence Jimmy, running it on a 6' 10" Fenwick Techna PX med/lite rod rated 4# - 10# mono & 1/8 - 5/8oz lures, I'm typically tossing 1/4 - 3/8 oz squarebills, crankbaits, poppers, & Zara spook type baits, as well as 1/4-5/16 spinnerbaits & chatterbaits

Definitely for heavier baits. I have had a couple glitches with the drag releasing. Have not torn it down yet to see what is going on

Just got this reel in...quick question you think this reel will pair good with the Daiwa blazon they have in stock at Baitfinesse Empire.
This reel here, if maxed spool of line, doesn't do well for lighter lures. If you spool little and thin line, you can cast down to 1/8th, but not far at all due it the deeper spool. Not a bait finesse reel, so likely won't fit that blazon rod at bfe. I am not familiar with that rod BTW. I used this reel on a M power rod mainly
Thanks for the reply as for the rod lure rating is 1/8 oz to 1/2 on the Daiwa Blazon at Bfe...I also have the Daiwa Salamandura air bfs but remembering you said on another video that it would best match a light or Ultra light rod...but Not going to use this 70 for bfs just thinking since the lure Rating on the Daiwa Blazon is 1/8 oz to 1/2 oz probably going to use this for 5 inch senkos, 1/4 oz Texas rig and maybe 3/16 oz spinnerbait. If you think the Rod and the 70 size reel is good...Will purchase it from bfe.
The spinnerbait I threw was around 4.5 grams or so, and it didn't go far! So I say pass. Get the alphas SV tw 800s! It's a large spool bfs reel that is great for power bfs range

How you like the reel I just got the Salamandura bfs reel from and the the Daiwa blazon medium light rod from baitfinese empire but the the rod seem a little to heavy for the reel ...just wanted to know if this would pair great with the blazon medium light rod.
I like it, but it doesn't go that low without having thin line and little bit of line spooled on. What you can try and do is swap out bearings of the Salamandura air tw with standard size as it came with micro bearings., in theory, That should slow the spool down a bit, and allow you to cast heavier lures.

Does the gold spool and tension knob only come in the 70 model? Cause i cant find a 103 with the gold. Also does the 103 also come with the click drag?
I believe the 70 is the only with gold and the 103 won't have a clicker.

I didn't really do a dedicated cast testing video with this reel. During the fall, I did fish it briefly with light lines and a L rod. Doesn't do well for 3.5 gram lures and below. I have used this rod several times since the release of this video on a Medium power rod as there where I feel it excels on. 4 grams may work for short distance on a ML rod and very little and thin spooled on.
Just an FYI, I don't often do cast testing for reels that are not BFS or Long Cast style.
You can also get the Roro TX25S for this reel as it will cast pretty low. If you swap to micro bearings, could get down to even 0.5 grams with the right rod and line.

No this is a different reel. This is same as Tatula SV TW 70. Similar to Salamandura Air TW as well as body is the same and spools are interchangeable.
@@rawrfishing what do you plan on using your reel for what kinda of baits & set ups? Seeing at the spoool is small no?
The SV TW 70 reels definitely is a small spool. I use it on a M power rod with a moderate fast tip rod. It's an all rounder for me right now, last trip I skipped plastics. Earlier this season I threw spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits and jerkbaits.
So basically you can take any baitcaster and turn it into a bfs? By swapping the spool?😊
If there is an available size spool, you can definitely convert a standard size reel to bfs. Bfs is mainly the spool size. But many other factors plays a role and making a bfs reel what it is vs a BC reel converted to one!

I'm really trying to get into bff, and use whatever resources I got as financially I can't just drop 200 bucks right now. Under $100 to see if I like it, , without question because I like to have good quality
I am not a fan of kastking bait finesse reels (kestrel elite and valiant eagle 2) and they are also not a fan of me for being too honest. I have nothing against KK. But at this time, there are plenty of better and interesting bfs reels to use than their over priced and over braked reel. I hope they would accept My honest future critism rather than tell other companies that we had a fallout, which isn't true. But until then, I will be providing the fishing community my honest and unfiltered opinion about their products!
So yeah, their bfs stuff out lived the limelight from their initial launch dates, thus they will sit in the garage as dust collectors. May even sell em locally or give em away to local fishers who I fish with

@@kInGj723 it's not a bfs reel. So no it's not. You can get the Tatula BF 70 or the Salamandura air tw. Both uses the same body

Would be curious about the quality since you said it's made for the Chinese market. Is it really a daiwa or is it fake? If it is made by or authorized by daiwa what about the quality since the Chinese people accept or are forced to accept subpar products. Plus you say it's cheaper than the USA model. Makes one think it's probably made in communist China and maybe with their quality control issues. Anyway, thank you sir, was just curious.
It's made for Asia market other than Japan. U can continue to watch to see the quality as I intend to use this reel for a while as this is my first Salamandura. Only time will answer your question
Its priced higher than Tatula 70 sv in China. Its got salt resistant bearings on the spool vs regular on the tatula. The gold coating on the lineguide is superior compared to silver on other reels. Definitely not a sub par product.
