Interesting when you look at those three loco’s, the A class was originally a B class with its original 567 V16 and turned into an A class after being heavily modified and updated with its higher horsepower turbo’d V12 back in the 1980’s when old mate Steve Crabb was transport minister and the Series 1 flat top T Class was on narrow gauge with that cement company in Geelong before taken over by Victorian Railways and the P class Ex V line started life as a Flat top series 1 T class when that was highly modified with a raised cab, head end power and uprated 645 to pull those H sets back in the day, good to see they are loved and looked after!
Magnificent catches of the trains coming by and pass at the station,I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, I just liked and subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the UK.
Great catches ! I was in ol' Melbourne town 6 weeks ago , and got the OL to Adelaide , and it's a good trip . Certainly back to the future with these trains , and the X or C are my fav's....bit of a SD40- 2 fan 🙂 Cheers Gregg.
It was Spencer St Station in 1984 . Victorian Railways was still very much alive that year. Trains like the Souther Aurora were still operating .
Thanks for watching!!!
It really felt like all those decades ago
Those A class engines are iconic and are probably my favourite looking locos.
V/Line still has A66 I believe

They have survived through evolving. Very interesting that they all have been modified, makes for a better story for each one.
Thanks for watching!!!

Unreal, thank you for your Sub!! An international watcher is awesome.
This means a lot and we will continue to do our best.
@@smarTarraY2000 no problem.
@@smarTarraY2000 I have some incredible video of the trains that you will enjoy a lot.
@@smarTarraY2000 in Portugal, we have diesel-electric locomotives yhat have the same engine sound and thrash as as Class 20s: the CP 1400s.
I remember catching the A66 to the football back in the early 90s.
That’s cool as!!! Was it in the same livery?
Thanks for watching!!!
I love the DHMU at the end! How the numbers have changed!!!!
It gave it a nice contrast.
Thanks for watching!!!

Thanks for watching Gregg!!
Glad this brought some memories back!
C501 Is still straight SD40, not trying to be a nerd here but it's not an SD40-2. : )
@@viryepokesbutfirstno I meant the style really , not into boxes 🙂
T 413 is interesting as it WAS on NARROW gauge, then converted to BROAD GAUGE, and it was saved! NICE.
They’ve done a great job with it! We never knew the history of that either, so thank you!
Thanks for watching!!!!
Definitely 2024. I doubt there was ever 5 such shiny, clean looking locos in the VR/VLine fleets at any one time. 😊😊
I’ve seen a lot of old videos and you’re right they definitely weren’t gleaming like this.
Thanks for watching!!!!
@@smarTarraY2000 They surely weren't! Cheers mate. 👍
Good video i enjoyed it and subbed
Thank you for sub and watching!!!
triple headed locos is crazy
Especially those actual 3 locos.
Thanks for watching!!!
@@smarTarraY2000 no promblem! :)
It’s the closest you’ll get to being in the year 1984 and seeing these trains come to life.
It was!!! It was crazy with the liveries there. Well planned or great coincidence.
Thanks for watching!!!!
Is it Steam Rail that maintain these engines?
SteamRail and 707 Operations keep these going.
Thanks for watching!!!!
Spencer St Station, always has been, always will be! This habit of changing the names of places/things/locales has to stop.
😂 that’ll happen with private owned station.
Thanks for watching!!!
