Great flying/boating/submarine-ing, Dave! Reporting from Dragonfly V2 parallel build - I finally finished mine, went with an Omnibus F4 Nano, plus matching PDB/5v+12v BEC/Current Sensor to power servos and 1200mW 5.8 FPV. A Matek GPS and FrSky X9R are powered by the FC, so hopefully the stock ESC will stay cool. The laminate film only added 15g, but still glad I chose the thinnest stuff I could find, as the 4200mah 3S 21700 battery I made weighs as much as a 2200mah Lipo. I've been toying with the idea of running 4S, and while I haven't read any horror stories advising against it, I've only seen 2-3 reports of success, so... It wasn't supposed to be a maiden flight, but my high-speed taxi test turned into a successful initiation - and a handful of flights later the Dragonfly trucks on. I haven't gotten too comfortable with it yet, but it seems like it's ready to drop a wing at any moment if you don't have enough speed, like in your video. I'm not the pilot you are, so thank The Maker for iNav's help keeping my Dorito in one piece! Other than that, I can't report any bad tendencies; everything stays cool after I added a small heatsink to my VTx, servos sound great, motor purrs! And now that I've got iNav 3.0.2 all dialed in, version 4.0 is about to come out!
Nice to see you uploading again Dave. Nice Video content and 1st flight. Crap... into the drink.. Luckily it crashed the right way up. Yeah... Facebook thinks it's everyone's Mommy and Daddy....Don't want it or need it.
@@DaveMerc Still need to wear a mask when mingling with the public and disinfecting hands when getting home. No stay at home orders. Flying a bit on the weekends with my buddy at his field. Just trying to enjoy the summer and get though this crap.. Hope you and yours are safe as well.
I have been doing some flying but not always filming it. Yes I think I let off the throttle too much and caused a stall. Wish I could blame the battery or the wind but not this time. If anything I would blame my dirty sunglasses 😀
Is that the Original Non-Plus Taranis still going strong? Dad gave me his when he upgraded to the Plus. I've modded mine some but still works flawlessly.
If you are just starting out get an 8 channel Spektrum radio. Even though you can get away with a 4 with some planes you are bound to need more channels later.
This Dragonfly V2 is a really old Aircraft - goes back 9 to 10 year - as you said its also like the HK Skipper - I purchased mine from Motion RC (Skynetic) but its not mine has no Skynetic branding on it at all - its made by Bandcraft (who do RC Boats) - all Motion RC have done it act as a distribution point - its a shame it would have been nice if they had put some Skynetic branding on it - having said all this - I got mine from Motion RC and cannot wait to get it ready for its Maiden - thanks for this Video
Thanks for the comment. The one I have came from radiosailing.net but they sold out a long time ago and never restocked. The box says Joysway-Hobby.com. I had not heard of Skynetic until I saw that name on MotionRC.
Hey stranger, about time you put a video out. Guess I'll watch this one a million time. Great video, having a blast it what is all about.
Hey there I just wanted to let everybody know I had survived the plandemic so far and still flying.
Good to See You Again OLDMAN
Thanks, good to see your post. I'm not old I just need spare parts.
Great video, enjoyed the flying and the chat.
Appreciate it! Hope everything is going great on NZ island.
Looks like a great day for a float fly!
Cheers Dave!

Oh yeah perfect weather. You never know what your going to get at the pond.

Nice to see you back with a new video Dave! Hope all is good.. Some nice weather in VA to get some flying in before winter.
I have another to put up soon with Barney flying My Polaris XL, thanks for the comment!
@@DaveMerc Look forward to seeing it.

Thanks 👍 It's good to be flying off the water again and get outside to enjoy the day. These lockdowns are ridiculous. How's Canada doing?

About the same thing here except the mask. I do the handwashing when I get home because that is always a good practice.
Good to see you out again Dave...You really need to be on 4S to make takeoffs safer...Edge of the stall....🤔😳😳😄🇬🇧

Would you recommend one plane over the other? Or do the perform about the same?
Very interesting can I know where can I purchase one of these?
Are the antennas in all your models laid so carelessly?

Yes it is the non-plus! Just keeps on working like a champ.
How do I know which remote to get? I’m kind of new to all this

@@DaveMerc do they connect or pair with each other automatically?
@@korndogg714 No there is always a Binding Process. Either a Jumper of Button on the receiver.
Like! I need a float plane every once in a while when our field, located in a drainage area floods.
Ha ha that's funny. People say the dragonfly does even better off grass than water but I am glad it was water when I crashed.
