I just stumbled on you for the 1st time (Top 20 Most Violent and Bloody PS3 Games) and I immediately subbed. Great shit man! I love the way you edited your video, the background music for each section was superb, great engaging synopsis and you yourself were reserved and did a great job of delivering the content. Nothing too overboard, didn’t try to be needlessly funny or anything like that. I appreciated the way you wrote your script, it was interesting. Keep up the good work! You’ve also got a good voice for this stuff. You actually sound a bit like Rahul Kohli.
Nice one man and welcome to the channel! Thank you for the kind words, genuinely means a lot 👊🏼 And I take what you said about me sounding like Kholi as a massive compliment, I think that dudes a bit of legend 👍🏼
Another fantastic video mate. I've never heard about "The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story' and games like these are absolutely not down my alley. But for some reason this one seems quite intreguing. Especially because I like to try things out that are not in my comfort zone. Will definitely put that on the 'to hunt down' list.^^
Thanks man 👊🏼 Yeah it’s not going to be for everyone due to the nature of its gameplay but I was absolutely hooked by the story and loved every minute of it. It can be pricey though so if you do pull the trigger on it, best to wait for a sale 👍🏼
@@thepolygondon9198 Haha, I know that feeling too well. Sometimes I get some serious FOMO and want to buy all the games that intregue me immediately even though I have a huge catalog.^^
Thank you 👊🏼 And yes, gladly take recommendations! Have only heard of Tokyo Xanadu out of the ones you mentioned, absolutely rinsed it on my Vita, amazing game! Will check out the others shortly, nice one 👍🏼
I bought Dusk Diver Day One Edition years ago and shelved it after about 3 hours. After hearing the combat gets deeper and seeing it in action again I think I'll give it another go. Alienation seems good too, looking for another "twin stick shooter" after The Ascent. Cheers!
Watching your videos is costing me a lot of money man most of the games you have recommended I have ordered. My hidden gem would be cloudpunk on the ps4 nice little game.
Ahh man, sorry about that! I hope you’re enjoying them at least!? 🤞🏼Cloudpunk is an absolute fav of mine, incredible voxel graphics and cyberpunk world to explore in. Great choice, I covered it in one of my early PS4 hidden gems videos I think 👍🏼
Great video. Please make more like this. BTW what framerate do u get on Alienation?...I'm stuck on 30 or below ...its really sluggish and jerky...but mayb because my PS4 is not a PS4Pro....
Thanks man and will do! Regarding Alienation, I played it on a base PS4 first then again a few years later on a Pro and captured the footage in the video using a PS5 and I’ve got to say I didn’t notice any sluggishness on any of them. But I’ll be honest the first time I played it on a base PS4 was a very long time ago now so my memory of it might not be the most accurate
Marsupilami, if you can believe it, used to be a relatively popular (at least among kids) series of comic books in the 1950s. Like Tintin, it used to be translated into many languages across the EU.
@@thepolygondon9198 CMIIW Marsupilami started out as a mascot character for the popular Belgium comic book Spirou & Fantasio. The Spirou series were revived in the 2010s by different artists and writers along with Marsupilami, and apparently the characters are still very popular in Europe.
Genuinely shocked you didn't utter the words, "Donkey," "Kong," or "Country" during your segment on Marsupilami 😄 I mean it's just so clearly patterned after those games, like the newer DKC Returns games, Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, or Kaze and the Cursed Masks, and all of those are various kinds of good so it's great to see another example of this type of game! Being JUST a good platformer would be fine enough, but from the world maps to the rolling attacks to the bouncing off enemies to the bonus rooms to the parrots that spit you out like DKC's barrels, Microids' really seemed to have wanted to make their own Donkey Kong game and that's pretty much THE BEST KIND of 2D platformer, so I'm all for it. Especially on platforms where the kremlin-hating big guy isn't at, like on my Series X. Definitely gonna pick that up soon; I actually had it on my wishlist for awhile (I love platformers; I'm aware of many obscure ones and even look forward to B-Tier efforts like Smurfs Mission Vileaf and KAO the Kangaroo) but tend to ignore it when it goes on sale. Next time I see it though, I'm definitely gonna nab it.
Haha I actually had a completely different intro for that game where I name check DKC but changed it in the end and forgot to mention it later in the segment. But you’re absolutely right, massively inspired by it 👍🏼
Yeah man, all are great games! Bladed Fury is the only one I don’t have and have wanted the physical copy for ages now! Hardly see it out in the wild though 🧐
@@thepolygondon9198 What a coincidence! I only learned about Bladed Fury yesterday because it popped up in my recommendations on a website called Vinted, which I'm using to buy and sell games. It looked interesting and I added it to my Steam wishlist simply because that is my platform of choice for these types of games. I just checked again and I see a PS4 version for 19 € sealed. I see there's a UK version, so maybe give it a look.
I always like these videos.. also because the games are actually good and uncommon and "hidden gems" is not just clickbait. I agree I like immortal realms - to be bought for the ps and not for switch on switch it's an ugly blur. Centennial case I have the asian physical and I sense that's gonna be rare as it is apparently rare in Asia too... the acting is sooo dreadful impossible not to have a laugh ;)
Thanks man, glad you like them! 👊🏼 I didn’t know Centennial Case was already hard to find in Asia, that’s cool, glad I already got my copy! The acting is a bit all over the place, some of the cast play their roles in much more campy fashion while others don’t, it affects the tone at times but I honestly didn’t mind overall. It does make it unintentionally funny on occasion though for sure but it’s such a unique game, I really have a soft spot for it
@@thepolygondon9198 yep that was quite an incomprehensible move on Square's side and, like with 428 Shibuya 4 example (a photo based mystery game), it's already hard to find... I think in EU and UK has no physical at all right? At least for ps4 then it's also on switch but I guess the genre itself is not commonly on physical media: 1st person dungeon crawlers or visual novels and even otome are becoming more and more known to the wider public and in that case number of copies and market request are balanced but video based adventures or shmups are still very niche. Even when it's Square Enix publishing them. I agree tho Centennial has its charm, I played it with friends and it was fun.
Funny you should mention 428 Shibuya, I bought that the moment I found out about it when researching Centennial Case, it did get a UK physical release but it’s already very hard to come by. I picked mine up on eBay and it wasn’t cheap! Not sure if EU got their own dedicated physical release though. Looking forward to starting that soon
Alienation is my most played game since I got back into them a few years ago. The intensity had me hooked. I would mostly play solo, but sometimes you find a good teammate and roll through a few areas together
Nice! It’s great when a game just resonates with you. I don’t think Housemarque have made a bad game yet though tbh, masters at their craft 👌🏼 Check out a game called Matterfall too 👍🏼
@@thepolygondon9198 I did play Matterfall, but I got bored with it pretty quick. I plan to try it again later. The open format of Alienation kept me going. You can pick your battles and angles and how much of each level you want to explore. The ships added some intensity because you had to had to beat them in one try (from what I remember)
@eb3005 yeah it’s a different beast really, the side scrolling nature of it definitely restricts the freedom and the chaos that Alienation has but I still really enjoyed it. I’m a bit of a Housemarque fanboy tho 😂
Im about to binge your entire channel. My favorite genre is survival horror like RE2 remake and Alan wake 2. Hopefully there’s a list similar to that you’ve already made
Glad to hear it mate, hope you enjoy. There’s definitely a few videos that feature some Survival Horror games, I’m yet to do a dedicated video but that is on the cards for the future
Same, love me some FromSoft but like you said, it’s not always about the hardcore action. Sometimes I just want to kick back and enjoy the pretty colours 😂
Maybe it’s just me but I’d prefer these videos with just your narration+gameplay and not the cutscenes from the games. They are boring and kill the pace of the video. Or make separate timestamps for them so we can more easily skip them. Just a suggestion!
I really like that you took a second to mention that a game had a physical overseas if we prefer that option. Too many RUclipsrs forget about us!
I’m right there with you mate, if I can get it physically and it doesn’t completely break the bank, I’ll take that option any day of the week 👍🏼
i mean, if a game interests you, take the second to google and see if it's available physically. don't wait for them and then complain
