You're absolutely right! I've been saying that for years. Don't these idiots know how much money they are losing by not putting the top Broadway plays on DVD to be sold by those of us who can't afford to travel to New York and pay hundreds of dollars for tickets to the play?

It’s absolutely amazing how Michael can convince you that he’s Frank Spencer and then go on to convince you that he’s the Phantom. He played both these roles so perfectly. What a genius!
While I love the Ramon Karimloo version of the phantom for the strength and raw power that his voice gives his phantom, I can easily say that Micheal Crawford delivered the most emotionally developed phantom and he was easily the most musically talented of all the phantoms
A master piece by Andrew Lloyd Webber, together with 'Music of the Night' both are the most hauntingly beautiful love songs I've ever heard! Micheal Crawford is without doubt the best phantom voice.
Profoundly beautiful, and distinctly dysfunctional. We must remember this. As a very young and lost, lonely child, this story was all I had to build on as role models. I can't begin to describe the decades of pain and despair that was the result. I'm 32 and have only just figured out what went wrong. I'm not blaming this story, just admitting that it has been a significant factor in the development of my torturous pathology.
While Ramin Karimloo is a god as far as I'm concerned, this version makes me feel like I'm actually walking through the labyrinth, and I can't see the Phantom, but I can hear him. And I do want to sing for him...!

They have performed to many full house events with no seats empty. 2 different styles of singing and anyone who lacks very badly what a true classic is like this won't like this. I couldn't get Crawford's voice out of my head and the haunted awe I felt when I heard this version even years after my father's death. Karimloo, though a great interpreter, is just a "glamour" version of the reality of a Phantom who's been hiding in the dark for his whole life because he felt inadequate to the real world standards. A haunted person, hungry for love who's certainly not going to look sexy or glamorous. Karimloo is an easy choice for Christine (over the shabby other guy), the real Erik certainly not.
