    Asking me if I'm booked on a date has always felt improper, everyone should always ask "are you available?". This has happened to me a couple of times though lol.

      Absolutely! I think the best way to ask someone about the gig is to say that, and to put all the details in the first message. Clear and concise

    If the gig pays over a certain amount, like 1k, it's best to talk to the person, not text, if you can!!
