No wonder you travel so lite, I bring cookers and grills and crap. Jess, carves a stick to cook the meat. Great Video, very relaxing and beautiful scenery.
Hi Jess .. Nice .. very nice 👍. Looks like that Skrama is earning its keep. The Pup Tent takes me back to my first bought back in the early 70's .. still got it. The kids have also been through it and I suppose the Grand Kids will follow suit. An occasional coat of 'Nu Proof' Canvas Dressing has kept it going up to now. Jess, for what its worth, stick with what you enjoy doing. I for one, and I'm sure that the majority of the other viewers out there are quite happy with your Posts. I'm of the opinion that all mushrooms can be eaten .. some only once .. thus I pick mine at my local Migros Supermarket. Take care .. thanks for sharing .. Tommy
Thank you, Tommy. Appreciate the support, my friend. The Skrama is excellent. Really enjoying it. The pup tent is always nice. Glad I found it when I did. Have a good one!

Really enjoyed it Jess! The silence and sounds of the woodland and the crackling fire were relaxing. Appreciate you taking us along. Looking forward to the next one.
Everything is great location - surrounding areas - video thank you for sharing your camp and space with us that water sounds terrific; waiting for next one, seems there's much downfall for your winter camping
Great video, location, campout and steak Jess! Would really love to get my hands on one of those canvas French F1 tents, didn't know they made a canvas version until I saw one of your earlier videos. They must be very rare now. I know you can get the nylon ones just about everywhere with no problem. I might have to settle on that. Wish they had a mesh screen also included in the door. Guess they don't have any bugs in France! 😳🏕🔥🥩👌
Hey Jesse, love the videos brother. I just wanted to let you know that I Patched the Intermediate Course. Your videos, and the advice you gave me in the comments, really helped me out man. Thank you for that....
Another great time out Jess. I just used that german ground sheet "elephant skin" this weekend out overnight in the woods. Looked like you didn't have any condensation inside. Nate
Thanks Nate! Very cool that you have the elephant skin also. Its good kit. No condensation issues with this tent. F1 is pretty nice if you can find one. Cheers
Another tent , and steak seasoning 😳? Getting spoiled . 🙂 That is a neat little pup tent . I like the side flys to pitch water . Looks like you have plenty of leaning deadfalls for firewood this winter. Always forget y’all have bear up there . Glad to see you doing well. Have a great evening brother
So I ordered a Skramma. It reminds me of a garber mini machette I once had, great design and best saw back out there, problem is that it was made by gerber and the edge rolled. It too had extended handle as does the Pathfinder Forest Tool. Great video. I have never owned a tv in my life, never seen any of the survival shows, hate sugar and varnish narcistic presentations, your projects are well above that.
Thank you very much. I hope the Skrama serves you well. I am sure you will find it worthy. They used a differential heat treatment on it, so the outer layer is softer 55-56, while the center is much harder at 59 for the edge retention. Fancy. Have a good one my friend.
Its awesome. No condensation issues. There are air vents. Definitely worth picking one up if you can find it. The F2 version is nylon, but is still very nice.
Jess, I know you know what you are doing and I really like the video and the gear. Thinking of buying that modern seax. But every time I looked over your shoulder and up seeing those fallen trees leaning on the one next to your tent I got a little worried for you. Kept thinking about the "4Ws".
Thank you! I dig it. It weighs about 10lbs. Not too bad to pack. Appreciate the ASMR take. That is a big focus, capturing the sounds and overall vibe of being in the woods. Cheers
Hay Jess, I often ask you lots of questions but I don't think I've ever asked you about Bears??? Do you have issues when cooking food near your camp site with wild life etc???
We had a black bear raid our camp one night. He bit my ALICE pack, got into a fight with our dog, and stole all our food for a 3 day camping trip (on the first night). I hang everything in a dry bag away from camp. If it’s a high traffic area, I will cook away from camp as well.
@@EnduranceRoom Thanks for getting back to me! Wow what an experience to have. I'm living in Australia Queensland Toowoomba area and don't have bear problems but are having to deal with wild dogs that sometimes run in packs while I camp in Forests here. Nothing bad yet but can imagine how much damage a bear can do. My family is originally from Ohio and I've been back to see the family often. But am thinking about heading to your way next year onward to do some solo camping and was wondering about the bears and things Thanks for telling me. Drew.
Thank you! I got lucky at my local surplus back home. There were a ton of them on the market two years ago and poof. I really really like it. Warm and not too bulky to pack. The F2 is still available and I have heard they are quite nice as well.
I think it depends on the weave/weight of the canvas and water exposure. Treating definitely helps. I have used a beeswax/coconut oil blend that works pretty well and is nontoxic.
stock grind is 25 deg about 2” near handle for finer work, rest of blade is about 30 deg for chopping and what not. Those are a secondary bevel to the slightly convex grind of the overall blade. Good tools
Amazing sound of crackling fire and water rushing by...thank you for another wonderful video. ..
Enjoying the atmosphere with steak food is very pleasant friends🔥👌
Yep 👍
Puttin that Skramma Dady to work.
This F1 tent is mostly lying around at my home because it is too bulky. 😊👍 Nice video - pure nature.
Wow what a place of peace jess 💪🏴👍🔥🥩
Thank you, Paul. Hope you are getting some woods time my friend. Cheers
To be one with mother earth is paradise brother! Great video my friend, I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Thank you brother. Much appreciated. Have a good one!
Excellent brother excellent! Love that canvas French tent, I love those, I refuse to buy the nylon version.

Really like that tent Jess ! I like the way you cooked your supper. Awesome as always Buddyman!
Thanks Kris! The F1 is really quite nice. A little tight getting in and out, but enough leg and gear room inside. Cheers my friend.

Awesome video
Awesome camping, beautiful nature. A little bit of peace in the crazy world. Stay safe Jess!
Thank you my friend. Hope you are having a good one. Cheers
Consistency is the key. Cheers matey.
Yes indeed. I read a book awhile back that talked about 10,000hrs being the key mastering any skill. Cheers my friend
Nice camp Jess! Looked so relaxing my friend 🤠
Thanks Herb! It was a good night in the woods.

Thanks Jeff! They are definitely getting hard to find. I have seen a few listed here and there around $70. Well worth it if you can score one. Cheers
Jeff, check Komando Store. It looks like they have them.

Beautiful, relaxing, away from all the madness, love your vids.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed
Hi Jesse, great video, loved it, but your French F1 tent is missing it's flysheet, great tents, even better with the flysheet.
Another great time out Jess. I just used that german ground sheet "elephant skin" this weekend out overnight in the woods. Looked like you didn't have any condensation inside.

Thanks Nate! Very cool that you have the elephant skin also. Its good kit. No condensation issues with this tent. F1 is pretty nice if you can find one. Cheers

Wow, that is some beautiful land! National or State forest land or what? Great trip!
Thank you! Yes, it is part of the Adirondacks
How did you like the French tent? Did it have condensation? Would you use it again on a regular basis?
Its awesome. No condensation issues. There are air vents. Definitely worth picking one up if you can find it. The F2 version is nylon, but is still very nice.
Jess, I know you know what you are doing and I really like the video and the gear. Thinking of buying that modern seax. But every time I looked over your shoulder and up seeing those fallen trees leaning on the one next to your tent I got a little worried for you. Kept thinking about the "4Ws".
No worries, appreciate it. The trees looked much closer than they were and pointed away. The seax is nice.
Love that tent. Reminds me of the nylon version I used as a teen. What does this weigh in at?
These no talking videos have a real ASMR feel
Thank you! I dig it. It weighs about 10lbs. Not too bad to pack. Appreciate the ASMR take. That is a big focus, capturing the sounds and overall vibe of being in the woods. Cheers
Nice! Ten pounds is not bad at all. Great video :)

How did you find the F1 Tent? I've seen and heard very mixed reviews and opinions? But a quality video as always 👌

💯💪💯
You mentioned in another video that if you touch the canvas it will leak. Is that the case for all canvas or just that one or untreated canvas?
I think it depends on the weave/weight of the canvas and water exposure. Treating definitely helps. I have used a beeswax/coconut oil blend that works pretty well and is nontoxic.
My F1 has a rain fly that came with it. Did you leave it behind?
Nice! No, mine didn’t come with one. It holds up in rain pretty well though.
Do I see widow makers in or near your camp?
Nearby, but not in line.
What sort of grind do you have on the Skrama 240?
stock grind is 25 deg about 2” near handle for finer work, rest of blade is about 30 deg for chopping and what not. Those are a secondary bevel to the slightly convex grind of the overall blade. Good tools
