I don't consider it a "cover," I consider it a "tribute" to the work of his Robert Been's dad who originally wrote this song when he fronted The Call. He heavily influenced this band. He helped craft their sound from what I read and worked sound engineering for them. Totally different situation....plus they put a great"dirty" hard spin on it. The original by his dad

Was your comment really necessary considering this is BRMC's actual RUclips channel and there's a possibility that Robert would see your comment(s)? Further, I'm pretty sure I remember reading an article a year or so back where Robert talked about this very thing...that he had some insecurities about recording his old man's work and some concern that he would not be able to live up to his father's legacy. I just think your comment was totally insensitive and completely unnecessary. You know what I mean? I mean fuck dude...saying; "His father God rest his soul should be ashamed" is such a f*cked up thing to say! And as far as I'm concerned, there wasn't anything particularly amazing about the original that makes it stand out from BRMC's version. Honestly, I was there in 1989 when the original was all over the radio and I don't remember anything about it being so freaking amazing. It was just kinda lumped in there on the DJ's playlist on any given day with songs from The Alarm, Lone Justice, Pale Saints, The Sisters of Mercy, The Stranglers, The Go-Betweens, The Waterboys, Midnight Oil, etc., etc. Peace out.
