Riley, can you make (or maybe you did and I missed it) a video of how should he be prepared to do this kind of trip? I don't ride horses, I know very little of it, and I'd like to know how he should have prepared:)
@@Lillireify There are a lot of videos by experienced long riders that talk about the kind of preparation that would be needed, if you’re that interested.
@@Ketowski can you point me to one? I'm not a native speaker, and every time I try to search I either find info about endurance competitions or how to prepare your horse for long trailer ride :/
@@suelane8105 I heard that he dumped them somewhere but I’m not really sure if that’s true. There wasn’t much information on where they ended up after this.
Isn’t it at least a year to tone their muscles and at at least another year or two to increase their bone density? With miles of riding almost every day?
@@issnake1109 usually. Although we do occasionally get horses that don’t have any training sometimes. Ciril’s horses look as though they have no muscles and no groundwork, they would take at least 2 years to get the fat and muscle and basic lead line training. To actually train the horses to ride if they didn’t know would be an additional year/ year a half. I hope this answers your question and this is just how we do it.
@@Hey07892 it does, thank you. I used to do trail rides with endurance riders, though I guess it was more like a walk in the park to them. But it has been many years since I’ve seen any of my endurance riding fellows so my knowledge is a bit rusty
Yes, ex endurance rider here. My horse needed a year to be ready to enter just a short 40km course. And we stuck to that for at least a year before advancing.
I can't believe he wasn't arrested for what he's done. What a shameful humane society we have in this country. Shame on all of the officers who came in contact with this miscreant. You all should be fired from your jobs.
Humane societies don’t give a rats ass about horse abuse! It’s 100% sad if a horse has a stall with water in the facility and hay somewhere in the facility they won’t take away a horse that’s skin and bones!!!!!
Idaho kept trying to arrest him but he kept trailering back to Montana before law enforcement could catch him. I think he trailered through Idaho to make it to Spokane because there were 2-3 times Idaho tried arresting him.
I'm honestly scared that he just dropped both horses at an auction and now they're in the slaughter pipeline. Horrible end to wonderful horses who gave it their all to a horrible person

He trailered to Wyoming because he was tipped off to a trap we had set up for him in New Mexico. We were ready to catch him early on but he got spooked and ran. Like always.
He probably will some day given the public knowledge of his current behavior and his complete lack of remorse for his callous actions. Reminds me of the cult member recently convicted on more than one count of nasty assault after decades of his organization knowing about it. Bet all the people cheering him on are gonna eat their words in the future when he fulfills his twisted destiny.
I heard he went against an order NOT to be riding Falcon, and got caught riding him not long after,so he DOES have a warrant against him for breaking that order
@@Devin_Jazzberry nothing has been said so far, they dropped the story of course. I think he did sell them, but no one saying who bought them or where they are. No one going after him. Same old story, the rich get away with everything
Apparently the bag of high quality feed he showed the officers in Idaho was given to him by a concerned person just a few hours before. He had been carrying no feed before that.
There was so much more that could have been done in this situation. This journey COULD have been done, if it was properly planned out. Things like switching out horses along the way, rest stops, supply drops along the way etc. This guy wasn’t doing this journey in an ethical way and he was being insanely selfish to those horses, their journey wasn’t thought about whatsoever, only his goals. If this guy done this journey in an ethical way I’m sure he would have received immense support and people would even go out of their way to make sure he succeeded in his journey.
Raleigh has done a longer video regarding this creep, and she points out all of the major issues he ignores in his ridiculously arrogant “Imma ride a horse like the one last cowboy for my imaginary Netflix show that will make me RICH” when he knows nothing about horses much less anything about endurance riding. His tack was garbage, and he talked about horses like they are cars. It’s animal cruelty, and he’s leaned into his ignorance. He was shocked that people reacted to his obnoxiously cruel behavior.
@@Lillireify You could ask an organization of endurance riders. As Raleigh makes clear though, first you need to learn about horses. "Healthy as a horse" is kind of a weird saying, since horses are some of the most sensitive domestic animals healthwise. Feeding them improperly can kill them, sometimes within hours. As she notes in the video, properly fitted saddles are a must. Imagine if you walked all day long in poorly fitted shoes, and your backpack chafed. And you did that every day for months, with no time to rest and heal, and no changes to improve your gear. You need to be able to afford proper feed, proper housing, and vet care. The horse has to be trained, ridden, and exercised over a long time to build up its strength and endurance, same as a marathon runner has to do to prepare. You also need to know your abilities and your horses' abilities, and know when to slow down or call off the ride. The same principles apply to people who ride bicycles, walk, run, or kayak long distances. My husband joined a group of cyclists riding from San Diego, California, to Florida. The riders were required to undertake a 60 mile ride, on their own, to prove they were up for the longer ride. They had to have not only spare innertubes, but extra spokes. Due to a series of mishaps, he had to leave the group in Austin, Texas and return home. He had been doing extensive riding for decades, even completing a ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles with a group at one point. For the cross country ride, he chose to ride with a well-supported group with experienced leaders, two vans, and a trailer. It was also a slow-moving group, not a competitive group or a bunch of racers. They covered about 80 miles per day, with a day of rest about once a week. Moreover, one of the purposes of the group was to raise money to help people with MS. They weren't doing it only for the glory, or for a personal challenge. A woman in our church undertook to walk down the Pacific coast from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. She did about ten miles per day. She would walk for several days, then return to her home near Los Angeles. Then she would resume the journey. She planned her route carefully, including where to leave her car and how to return to it at the end of the day. She stayed with family, friends, and people she met along the way. She did it to raise awareness for missions, and had a lot of wonderful interactions with different people and groups along the way. I joined her for a day near our home, along with a lot of other people. Although I had tried to train for walking ten miles, I was not able to complete the ten miles that day. I did not have good enough shoes, and I had not been exercising enough over the long term.
He's only 24 years old, Jesus wow I thought he was MUCH OLDER!!! 👍 Great deep-dive of this animal abuser Raleigh, He deserves to be prosecuted for exploitation of the horse's... Poor babies... The fact he thought he would get a netflix documentary for this is laughable 😥💔🏇
Don't forget about all believing he'd get those sponsorships from all the brand names he called out in every video. What a jerk. Someone in chat said he treated the horses like they were bikes. Had he thought about making the journey on something other than a bar napkin - a bike would have been a better story. But nope, probably what happened was along the lines of, "I'm Texan and therefore I can ride a horse anywhere!" Believing some myth buried in his TV addled brain that ALL horses can ride endlessly without trouble.
In 1979 my friend and I rode our horses 500 miles across Texas to Louisiana so I know a little about this. Our horses stayed in great shape eating grass an oats when we could get them. You have to stay aware of your horse and his condition. A couple of time we stayed 2-3 days in one place to let them rest up. We were young then but were cowboys and know alot about horses and had sense to know what they needed. This guy was an idiot.
Amen. I've just shared my own long ride in a comment above. And although we were 16, our horses were in top shape, as were we, and we did various emergency training with farrier and vet before we left. It also was a bonus that my granddad was a saddler, so he made sure we knew not only how to repair tack, but also how to pack balanced, and made sure the packs were not overweight. Hot weather -- we traveled at night, or had a rest day. We walked half the time to rest the horses when the going was a bit rough. If there had been the slightest indication that a horse was suffering, there would have been a call to my dad to come get us.
I know nothing about horses (except that they are much bigger and stronger than me) and I was AMAZED at their patience. Especially when he was standing directly behind Falcon and smacked his flanks!! He should have been kicked!!
I hope they're not still with him. I seriously doubt that, he has no means, or desire for that matter, to care for them, rehabilitate them. I'm praying they're not in a kill pen somewhere. Falcon and Pete did not deserve *any* of this.
I think main reason that Cyril did not join a group riding across the country was a) ignorance of such an organization plus b) the "loner rides to fulfil a family tradition" thing. If this was how he was going to be seen as a rugged macho guy, having organized help was out of the question.
He wouldn't have been special if he'd ridden it in a group - everyone in the group would have managed the same as him, and we can't have that now. How was he going to be unique to get a Netflix deal?
It hurts to think that falcon really could have been gotten for alot more from someone who actually would have loved him but some a hat just had to swoop in and abuse em. I hope that falcon and pete are no longer with this evil man and are on the road to atleast as recovered as they can be
You can see the demeanor of the horse change from the beginning of the ride towards the end, Falcon was curious in the beginning but by the end he seems so closed off to the guy and just tolerated his existence
I'd have paid to see that! 😂 As you know, horses are wickedly accurate with their kicks - one kick to that big mouth of his would've shut him up for awhile (especially after that comment about thirteen-year-old boys scurrying to him like rats 🤢🤮) Dude's 💯 creepy for saying that.
Well, a-hat slapped him on both hind quarters with both hands, so Falcon was probably deciding which leg to kick with first. Or he was too damaged to make the effort. So sad.
If they didn't get hit by a vehicle they'd probably find their way to someone's place, hopefully a ranch or other horsey place with the means to care for them.
He trailered through all of it. I live about 2hrs NW of Austin, he had to ride by my farm, I happened to be in town when he had stopped at a donut shop, a truck and trailer was sitting there waiting to load him up. Obviously he never rode by, he trailered through.
@@ironheadbill I guess that's testament to how badly fitted the tack was then, that he rode so little on this trek but still managed to rub sores on the one horse, and both lost condition so badly. I also noticed that he never talked about the shoeing, which is important because a horse lives and dies on his feet. Holy heck I hate that this guy did this to these horses.
My horse colic back in mid July. He went down multiple times. I had a vet come out. She did all she could. I stayed with him throughout the night. He went down multiple times. The next my wife and I to get him up and walking. My wife rubbed his belly. He got around lunch time and stayed up. He's doing so much better. He did lose some weight, but he's gaining it back. He's almost back to his old self. BTW he's 24 years old. I thank God everyday that he saved him.
Hey, I just saw this and totally understand the trauma of it. This was way back when I was in high school, but on weekends I used to feed my horse and go back to sleep, her mornings were her own. But mom came in the bedroom and said she's down, as in fat out down. Some horses do that, she did not, so I went out there, and had to plead with her to get up and she just used the last of her strength to do it. I didn't realize it until then, but I was in a horsey community, and the horsey women showed up for me. My vet lost all his clients in the neighborhood that day by refusing to come out. I had stuff to give her, but we didn't know if it would suit her form of colic, but you can't do nothing, so they guided me through how to do the injection and she seemed to take a good turn, up and about of her own accord. I didn't wanna go to school the next day, but mom was staying home, and put her foot down. I said ok, but if she goes down to roll today, I don't care, just call. We'd found an alternate vet, he'd seen her before, we'd informed him what was up, and he was planning to come out anyway, so just call him, he won't think you're stupid. I come home, and I see her stumbling around the pasture, not 100%, but up and about, so I thought good sign. But mom came out looking like death. She'd gone down again, this vet rushed out, things were bad bad bad. But she turned the corner, and really never got sick again. All the other horses in the area did also colic like that, we don't know 100% what happened, but she was the first, and then it went around, and the other horsey moms were ready. It's a traumatic thing, and I'm glad your horse is ok now. It always kinda stays with you.
Those animals are so bony that I wouldn’t even start ground work with them. The fact that he was riding them at all is insane. I’m surprised those poor horses survived.
These horses had to eat whatever was on the ground around then when they should have been resting they had to graze on weeds or whatever. No wonder he colicked.
He was continuously eating McDonald’s while the horses were lucky to get roadside weeds and very rarely got water. The mental abuse as well as the physical abuse for these two angel horses is off the charts. I keep praying they land in a loving caring situation ASAP.
Years ago when I was much younger and had a great trail horse and a Belgium sheepdog mix, I seriously considered doing a similar long distance ride to raise money for various charities. The reason I didn't do it was because I DID my homework and decided that it would be too stressful for my animals. This dude lacks the basic human understanding of the phrase "just because something can be done, doesn't mean it should be done." Thank you Raleigh for another excellent video. By the way, I love your hair color. It's gorgeous and so flattering on you!❤
He actually didn't make it to Spokane. He was in Spokane County but just barely past the State Line of Washington/Idaho. Spokane is about 25 miles from the state line. I pray he didn't dump the horses at an auction or give them to a Horse Slaughter Pipeline Driver. I hope he gets charged with animal cruelty. I lived in Eastern Washington most my life and we had a small farm where I was raised to love and care for our animals. The way this guy treated these horses and used people to make himself happy and disregarded Falcon & Pete's Welfare is just disgusting!!! I wish all police Officers were taught to see abuse in all animals and especially Falcon & Pete. Maybe this could have been stopped a lot sooner or do the police have that authority to stop a person like this without having to involve animal control. I hate all the hoops that have to be jumped through before anything gets done!! Thanks for informing us of what's gone on.
Yep. I lived in EW for half my life, and WW for the other half; and as soon as I heard "Spokane" I thought, "No way. That guy didn't even make it to Cheney."
Police can only enforce existing laws, so if there are lax animal abuse laws in the state (or even poorly funded departments) those are often the lowest priority calls they go on. We had issues here in my area with our dog pound (which used to take cats too) This is a municipal shelter, mind you. They got reported for animal abuse because animals were found dead, without food or water and in filthy condition. "We're understaffed and underfunded" so they stopped taking cats. Then they got in trouble again, same problem so they shut down altogether. We don't even have an animal control department now. We get abused/neglected horse reports here that the sheriff tends to ignore, not because he doesn't care but because the department simply doesn't have officers and funding to pursue it. Only highly publicized cases get attention, such as the "Tiger King" guy of Netflix fame, which happened in the county on our northern border, and his constant beef was with an exotic zoo owner in our county. At that time I lived within 10 miles of his place, and was a horse owner--and we (horse owners there) were all worried a tiger or lion would escape from that irresponsible putz. We've had escaped zebras, ostrich and even black panthers (which were running wild and reproducing as long as 15 years ago in my current county) Anyway, I'm not making excuses for our law enforcement, just saying that rural areas are often already stretched thin. IMHO, you'd think that shutting down an idiot that's abusing horses on a Internet-visible journey would be positive publicity for LEO though?
He probably trailered them to the nearest auction barn and they sold for horse meat. They were expendable. I don't think he ever was able to move from his mindset of car (mechanical horse) to horse (flesh and blood). RIP to them both. I am so sorry for them and all the other horses that suffer from neglect and stupidity.
I love that of all the things he could’ve packed for his horse, he brought a salt block. I just imagine him sitting down for dinner each night and putting a salt brick in front of the horse and thinking “yeah, that’s all he needs.” 😂
Wow… that is horrible and he should be in jail. It’s not right to do that the that poor animal. It also looked like a beautiful horse he probably destroyed. Seriously he should be stopped and thrown in jail. That pains me.
Just looking at them- I don't know how they were able to walk at all. I hope someone stole them honestly. Otherwise he probably sold them cheap and I don't think he should have got a penny back. Honestly embarrassed the Idaho officers let him retreat, I feel like they could have done more. Can't be sure since I don't know 100% of the details, but Ive seen animals seized for less in the state.
A horse like Falcon is my dream horse, an absolutely gorgeous marking pattern, and he looked so willing to do what was asked of him despite what he was going through. I'm disgusted by how malnourished and over all unwell that man let both of the horses get. If he knew anything about horses at all he would have seen the signs of their deteriorating conditions and gotten help from a vet, but I'm convinced that even if he did he wouldn't have given a rats ass.
I feel like if someone did this responsibly and filmed the whole thing people would watch and actually enjoy seeing the journey but the way he went about this is completely wrong. I'm always thought it would be cool to travel across the country on a horse and cart with all the supplies you would need for you and your horse and maybe do it over the course of a year or longer if it takes longer because if you put a time limit on yourself then you're setting yourself up for failure.
There’s a book called “the Oregon Trail” by Rinker Buck, where he actually bought mules and a covered wagon, and set across what was left of the Oregon Trail. It’s really interesting
They did. It’s called “unbranded” and is documentary style. Four guys who actually have experience and planned really well adopted and trained mustangs for the journey. They did it to showcase mustangs, the American west and western way of life. The same guy would go on to do another documentary about the rio grande and what a wall could do to the ecosystems.
I live in kootenai county where he was cited. Eveyone was posting all over the Facebook horse groups to make sure people were calling if he was spotted. They for sure got hundreds of calls to go out make sure these poor babies were ok!!
I wonder why the horses weren't seized in Idaho? He had no proof of ownership and they were in poor condition so it seems like it would have been fairly easy. Does Kootenai Co not have stables available? There was a couple of pretty notorious horse hoarding cases here in Montana a few years ago, we had horses out at our fairgrounds. Appeals went out all over for donations of feed, etc.
What really kills me is if he had admitted he was over his head, listened to the long riders who offered help, made it a PSA about how it's much tougher than it looks, and advised people thinking about doing it what he learned and where he went wrong... he could have turned it around into a teachable moment for a lot of people. The community would have been happy to help, horse folks were trying so hard. Instead he mocked people and acted like the horses were just pieces of machinery. Imagine having an ego this size? You'll take handouts financially to serve YOUR OWN purposes for crap like pants, but not the free expert advice you're being given. Insanity.
I hate how up his own ass he was during the whole ordeal. 0 respect for anyone else involved, 0 respect for the people that do this for a living or for leisure (that take it seriously and do their research and make appropriate preparations for themselves and their animals) and 0 respect and care for his horses. Despicable. I follow a guy on IG who lives 24/7 nomadic on horseback and his horses are in spectacular condition. So seeing someone fail right out the gate is just ridiculous. He should’ve thrown in the towel a week on the road and saved himself the embarrassment and saved his horses a lot of pain and suffering.
I hope that in the near future, people will need a certificate to buy an animal. That they would have to follow courses on eduction, behavior etc to acquire the basics beforehand. It's crazy that, still today, just anybody (and delusional people like him) can just acquire an animal and do such bullsh*t to them. It's a living, breathing, sentient beeing to care for. Not an object like a car.
No, I think the laws for neglect/abuse need to be better and for officials to actually do their jobs where that is concerned. They often just don't care like they should or people don't think there's anything to be done if they see it. Punish people for doing wrong, make an example of them. But don't make normal people go through more pencil pushing hoops than we already have to lmao
And who would issue the certificate? Who would conduct the courses? Would they actually be people who know what they're talking about? When I gave birth to my son, new mothers were supposed to attend classes at the hospital before going home with the baby. So I dragged myself down the hall to the class, only to hear the teacher saying to have some wine if we were feeling overwhelmed (even if we were breast feeding), but "Don't tell anyone I told you this." Meanwhile, I missed seeing some of my friends and family who came to visit, and they missed seeing my baby. All because of a useless class. If you have watched many of Raleigh's videos, she is always finding horse "trainers" to hate. There are numerous training "methods" for horses, and for dogs as well. Many of these are terrible. Would you want those trainers being the ones to teach the classes and issue the certificates?? I wouldn't.
If you don't need a license to have a human baby you're for sure not going to make that happen for a horse. We need humane officials to do their jobs. I still can't believe anybody sold, or gave, him a horse!!! This made me sick and angry. He's a real rhinestone cowboy. Yi-ha!😢💔
@@savannamackie3720 I watched Unbranded, but not 500 miles (wasn't available anywhere). Respect. Yes, there are some dubious moments, but shit happens. I know Unbranded got slated by some, but quite frankly, that was no mean feat -- and they did care about the horses.
@@savannamackie3720 another good documentary about horses is true appaloosa, its about a old woman's quest to find the origin of that breed and its crazy what she does and where she ends up going lol
He is not out of legal problems. He has a court date in Idaho soon because he was cited for the horses. Maybe the judge then would ordered the horses be taken from him, and maybe some jail time? He never made it to Spokane. He was stopped on the border by both Washington and Idaho Sheriffs.
We couldn't have all done it without your help Raleigh! I wouldn't have even known of this POS if it wasn't for your channel. Thank you for all you do to help and advocate for horses and all animals ❤
And I hope someday he needs to answer for his disgusting crimes against these beautiful souls that were absolutely neglected, enslaved, injured & nearly killed. I really hope they're somewhere safe and being nurtured back to health if it's possible.
He bought that horse from the town I live in. That is why when I take on a horse of which I have two full size and 3 minis they all have a FOREVER HOME. I would just die inside if I knew I sold a horse an something like this would happen to them
excuse tf out of me! im so angry right now. i cannot believe this guy got away with all of this and we don't even know where the horses are. shiok/falcon was absolutely gorgeous and the fact that him as well as pete were abused so publicly and aggressively is insanity. unbelievable. that guy deserves the chair. i hope the horses are okay, even if the chances are slim. i'm so horrified honestly, thank you for covering this Raleigh, more people need to be aware of it.

When I was twelve, I wanted to do a cross-country ride starting the day I turned 18. I had no idea who I was yet. If someone had funded that monstrous idea for me, "Here's a horse for you! Off you go!" it would have ended in heartbreak to say the least. Fortunately, by 18 I was somewhat smarter. Not MUCH smarter, but smarter than this guy. I was also kinder. It really isn't that difficult for adults to know themselves and their limitations, is it? Do a little planning? Have a little empathy for companions who may not be as thrilled to join in a difficult, painful project?
Would be awesome for whom ever has or knows where the horses are to please give a update. My guess they have already been shipped south for slaughter. Sad ending for these two other than having a horrible person own and abuse them. As for ciro he can go back to begging for a job, being shamed for the rest of his miserable life.
I was thinking the same and hoping I was wrong. Im in my 60's disabled and have been looking for a horse like falcon...a gated horse, typically out of my price range. I would and could have given him a nice home.
I believe the people following him the closest do know where they are. But it's not been revealed as last time they did so, Cyril immediately moved the horses. At least the is the last bit i heard
@@trinegrapenthin5432Thank you! If you find out or someone else may know Id appreciate a message. Im sure Im not the only one interested in getting him.
I am from Kootenai county in Idaho, and I am older than dirt. Having been a dog/horse girl since the stone age, I am fairly familiar with animal welfare laws there and how they are not enforced. So, for those Idaho guys to come down on him and cite him-well, it had to be bad. I hope those horses are getting the food and care they need now.
Oh my god, my heart is broken to think of these sweet boys ending up in an awful situation after all they went through. If anyone gets an update, please share!
I love this video, but I fear greedy, narcissistic people like him just don't learn. He will probably talk this up throughout his life as some great achievement, and leave out anything to do with the constant trailering and stops by animal control. When this moron was more focused on brand names of his gear than anything to do with the horse's wellbeing, he told the world exactly what his priorities were. During his departing ride, he left in _flipflops_. Then, the absolute avarice of thinking his horses were worth 60 grand because he forced them to walk a lot... Just mind-numbing. I've got mixed feelings on the people who helped him. On one hand, it would be hard to say no to getting this poor horse food and water, but on the other, maybe he wouldn't have been able to get anywhere without relying on the kindness of others and the trip would've ended before 2 horses were tortured for so many days. This idiot only cares about himself and what the world can do for him and will never regret causing so much pain to his silent slaves. He shouldn't even have a pet rock.
This is what happens when someone gets given things their whole life, and are told it's because they are better/smarter than other people. They get it in their head that everything will be that easy, they don't understand what it takes to learn something like that and think they just don't have to.
He should’ve been arrested for what he’s done. This is not ok. Shame on all the officers who came in contact with this. They need to be fired right away!!!!!! All this is is horse abuse! Btw great job with this video Raleigh!❤
18:40 … I’m disturbed. Very disturbed. How could you even talk about an animal like that? One that you’re irresponsibly dragging with you? I feel so bad.
I wish we knew that Falon & Pete are safe and not released into the wild. Falcon looked like such a sweet horse and Pete too! They would not last long during July and Augest. The temps in eastern Washington can be well over 100 degrees and water is not available for free range livestock.
yeah, and he blocked me on instagram, because I commented collicked Pete... girl from Czech Republic, from country in different continent... and he just... blocked me, because his ego could not care less
This guy is probably like those fools going to zoos to stick their hand into a tiger's cage to pet it, just because they saw someone online that lives with big cats but ignored looking into HOW that is even possible (aka, raising them since young, being able to read feline body language to avoid annoying them, etc.). He's just the same as those fools. He looks at something for a minute and thinks he knows what's going on and that he himself can do it too. All I hope is that he didn't sell them both to the slaughterhouse. Those poor horses deserve a gorgeous forever home and immediate retirement after this ordeal.
Normal people when a horse colics: Rushes them to a vet or brings a vet to them and then ends up at the hospital Cyril: Pats horse and says Jesus is with us, so just walk it off
Well described. I couldn't believe it when I saw that clip. A colic can quickly turn into a life/death situation, and yet he reacted as if it was completely normal for horses to colic out on a ride and if it was nothing more than like having a headache or something. Just gonna pop some medicine into the horse (like taking a paracetamol for a headache) and off we go again. Surely it can't have aaaaaaaaaaanything to do with the horses being underweight, dehydrated, and fed sporadically on ever-changing food.
Right. I called the vet and stayed with my horse all night long...slept with him in the stall to make sure he was ok. I got my horse for free too... but I loved him so much.
This is the FIRST and Only Video I 100% agree with you on! He's a Puke & should've been shut down before he started! I pray someone has the babies and loves them letting them rest!
Its makes me so sad both those horses are so beautiful and seem amazing from how theyre still putting up with cyril, its a shame theyve just been thrown away
Im 36! When i was 18 a couple friends and I rode from Missoiri to Nebraska! We limited the ride to about 2 hour ride and then 1 hour breaks taking all tack off our horses and resting and did about 6 hours riding a day so 2 hour ride 1 hour break, 2 hour ride 1 hour break, 2 hour ride 1 hour break each day. It took us about 5 days in all! That was taxing on our horses! We had planned to stay in Nebraska with family to let the horses rest a couple weeks amd ride back but we trailered then home just because it was alot on them and we thought it would be better! The horses werent acting too bad but it was alot on them so we didnt want to cause harm or over exert them! The people that would come up to us and all the other stuff that goes along with a long ride was alot also! It was one of the funniest things I did, but that was alot on the horses! I couldnt imagine riding that far or that much!
I have spent nearly 60 yrs compiling a list of the most self-righteous people in the world, and I would like to congratulate you on not only making my list, but by also rising to the level of one of the top 10 most self-righteous people I have come across. I feel almost guilty for not having a real trophy to give to you, but I have full confidence that your ego isn't going to suffer too long or too severely over it.
Instead of giving him a citation for not having the proper paperwork, they should’ve taken the horses right then and there! I just hope they’re ok and somewhere with a responsible person who has them under vet care.
I would take Falcon and Pete in a heartbeat. They were both such game little horses and tried so hard inspite of the douche-bag that was torturing them. 😢
I really want someone to come and rescue these horses to get them the proper care they need, I really do. These horses could become great again and muscled up. But it might just be too late, absolutely disgusting.
Excellent review of the sad history of Cyrill and his unfortunate fantasy. The only thing is, I surely would like to know that those poor horses found a happy ending.
As a horse lover I can't fathom how these horses are being mistreated...karma/law enforcement will get him pretty soon at least. Also your commentary on this DA's 'journey' makes it bearable to watch and def touches on what not to do!
These poor horses. I was really hoping the video was going to end with the horses now in good care but it worries me so much that no one knows what happened to them... For all me know he could have sold them to "kill buyers" (forgive me for not knowing the proper term). I hope they are found soon and taken care of lovingly
I just hope those 2 poor mistreated horses found a good living home. Some people are just so selfish and think only of themselves. What a total ASS he is or was😢😢
This is a really nicely put together video that sums up 2raw2ride perfectly. It's sad that horses in the US have to be in such poor condition for the authorities to do anything. It was super cool to see the equestrian community come together to oppose him though!
22:22 I admit I have no knowledge of the applicable laws, but WHY weren’t the horses seized at this point? Citing the abuser but turning him loose with his victims is stupid and cruel
When you smack a horse in the rear that hard and the horse doesn't even react. That horse is just broken inside. The horse has nothing left. That poor animal.

@@Lillireify There are a lot of videos by experienced long riders that talk about the kind of preparation that would be needed, if you’re that interested.

As someone who trains endurance horses, this scares me..
We spend YEARS getting horses ready for endurance trails.

I can. In today's society, the victim is blamed for their period actions. This is no different
The Humane Society cannot enforce laws. Only LEOs can do so, Animal Control Officers included. The Humane Society (of which there are many) are NGOs.
Humane societies don’t give a rats ass about horse abuse! It’s 100% sad if a horse has a stall with water in the facility and hay somewhere in the facility they won’t take away a horse that’s skin and bones!!!!!
He has a court hearing, check “MareStare” for real information on this guy
Idaho kept trying to arrest him but he kept trailering back to Montana before law enforcement could catch him. I think he trailered through Idaho to make it to Spokane because there were 2-3 times Idaho tried arresting him.

Proper gear, and large healthy horses, with rest stops and a supply plan, would have been kinda cool actually.
Can you explain more in depth how can this kind of journey be done? I know very little of horses and I'd like to know :)
Actually, if you took enough time, and stopped often, didn't ride for too long, you could do it with the same horse ethically

Don't forget about all believing he'd get those sponsorships from all the brand names he called out in every video. What a jerk. Someone in chat said he treated the horses like they were bikes. Had he thought about making the journey on something other than a bar napkin - a bike would have been a better story.
Those horses are priceless, because they didn't rough him up at every chance they could. Such a pity horses can take such depravity.

It's clear as day that Cyril doesn't know the first thing about properly caring for a horse. Those horses need to be taken from him ASAP.
I hope they're not still with him. I seriously doubt that, he has no means, or desire for that matter, to care for them, rehabilitate them. I'm praying they're not in a kill pen somewhere. Falcon and Pete did not deserve *any* of this.
I Hope no one buys them but i do think they will get confiscated due to public outrage and there health
@@Kayyyz_If they get/got confiscated might they be put up for adoption at some point?
I think main reason that Cyril did not join a group riding across the country was a) ignorance of such an organization plus b) the "loner rides to fulfil a family tradition" thing. If this was how he was going to be seen as a rugged macho guy, having organized help was out of the question.
Others on such a ride would have been on him for being a shit horseman. Ego can't have that.

It hurts to think that falcon really could have been gotten for alot more from someone who actually would have loved him but some a hat just had to swoop in and abuse em. I hope that falcon and pete are no longer with this evil man and are on the road to atleast as recovered as they can be

@@pamelameckley5040 That comment was so gross. Like why would he say that? There's something seriously wrong with him.

@@ironheadbill I guess that's testament to how badly fitted the tack was then, that he rode so little on this trek but still managed to rub sores on the one horse, and both lost condition so badly.

That and no water
Not to mention the poison that folks use for weeds and other undesirables that the horse is ingesting.

Never heard a word about them. I really don't think he ever saw them as anything but a means to an end, nothing more than a machine.

Years ago when I was much younger and had a great trail horse and a Belgium sheepdog mix, I seriously considered doing a similar long distance ride to raise money for various charities. He talks about that horse like he talks about a vehicle. Not a living, breathing animal. That says so much just right off the bat.
As soon as he addressed the horse as “it”, I knew I wouldn’t like him.
Now he wants $50k for the horses he ruined. He trailered because he couldn’t handle it himself. I HATE this man.
He's a classic narcissist. Horrible and depressing to know that so many "officials" looked over the horses and were ok with this crap.
I love that of all the things he could’ve packed for his horse, he brought a salt block. I just imagine him sitting down for dinner each night and putting a salt brick in front of the horse and thinking “yeah, that’s all he needs.” 😂
Especially with the lack of water 😭
I noticed the time limit and 'tik tok' challenge aspect of this too.
Those poor horses. I hope they are with someone who are treating them right.
Did he strut into court in his fancy pants chaps? And the judge didn't buy his narcissistic warblings? Cannot WAIT!
His court case was postponed.
Bull shit
Insanity.
Falcon/shiok looked pretty lean to start with. The poor thing. He seems like a sweetheart
Yi-ha!😢💔
People have drivers licenses....did that stop reckless driving or accidents to happen?
I hope Falcon and Pete are safe now and are getting better where ever that embarrassment left them
This was done properly twice Unbranded and 500 miles Does this guy just live under a rock Why did he think this level of ignorance would be ok
Yes!! More people need to talk about those documentaries. So much better then what he tried to do.
Thanks Raleigh, this was another petition that I’ve been happy to be a part of thanks to this amazing online horse community. Git’Er done, great work team, proud of us all. Animal abuse ends here.

I also live in Oregon so not that far to get him if still available. I was under the impression that he just abandonded them in Washington.?
The way he hangs onto the reins, that poor horse's mouth
I did a 25 mile trail ride in 4-H on my pony Gypsy. The planning for that took weeks.
If he did even a lick of a google search, he would've bought a mule, not a horse in the first place. King of the twerps this guy.
Now he has what he wants. He's famous, albeit in a different way than he imagined.
This is sad. I hope horses have a good home. Worried about them
Yeah, I wonder where they are now?
Normal people when a horse colics: Rushes them to a vet or brings a vet to them and then ends up at the hospital
Cyril: Pats horse and says Jesus is with us, so just walk it off
LOL so accurate that monster said he was “physically and mentally preparing himself” what about his horse?!

That horse seemed like such a good boy. He deserved better. And the fact that he didn’t even pack food or cared about his horse at all.
OK Raleigh! This is by far my favorite video of yours. Well researched, articulate and...well...just very well done.
Righttt! Because she’s the one u should be focusing on not the horse abuser? Bro did u include urself on that lil make believe list?
Instead of giving him a citation for not having the proper paperwork, they should’ve taken the horses right then and there! I just hope they’re ok and somewhere with a responsible person who has them under vet care.
You definitely hit the nail on the head about this guy. He definitely made his family proud continuing the idiot family blood line 😂😂😂
That news clip was hilarious 😂 Even they knew it wasn’t a great idea for that horse.
I hope that we find out where Pete and Falcon went. Those poor animals having to go through such horrible abuse.
Yes we definitely did stick together during this
I just hope those 2 poor mistreated horses found a good living home. Some people are just so selfish and think only of themselves. What a total ASS he is or was😢😢
Its terrifying how he ruined and set these horses up for murder.....For FAME?! Honestly disgusting.
The fact this dude looks friendly when you don't know all the shit he's done, its honestly scary.
Citing the abuser but turning him loose with his victims is stupid and cruel
that person is fucking sick, how can he be so cruel and selfish
There's a level of delu-lu here that is seriously certifiable.
9 months later, do you have news about the horses? Are they still alive? Thanks for what you do, from France 👍
Rumor goes that Pete was rescued and now lives on a farm
When you smack a horse in the rear that hard and the horse doesn't even react.
That horse is just broken inside. The horse has nothing left.
That poor animal.
when he’s showing off Falcon, the horse’s expression says “FML”.
