    • @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake
      @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake  7 лет назад +4

      Lupafel....couldn't agree more about the "natural is not always better". One of the things I am always teaching my patients is that just because it is "natural" doesn't mean that it won't kill you. But, I am a big believer that any treatment provided should be evidence based. That being said, many "medical treatments" are not valid. Take for instance steroid injections. While many doctors (including myself on some patients) use steroids to get inflammation down quickly, it is not recommended for repeated treatment on the same area...however, many providers (not myself) treat beyond the recommendations.

      So I could have had a doctor administer my steroids this whole time? Good to know. No more shady foreign sites to buy my dianabol and test prop. Can these doctors prescribe the pills for after a testosrone cycle so the nipples don't get sensitive? Asking for a friend.

    I had left ankle pain for years and favored it to the point of straining my left knee, hip, etc. Saw an awesome chiro in Kentucky and I literally cried when he adjusted my ankle. Not because it hurt, but because when I came off the table and put weight on foot, there was so little discomfort. I realized how long it had been since I had walked without pain. Our insurance now WILL NOT cover chiro. It is listed as a specific exclusion in the policy. Shame. Chiropractic care was an amazing practice that my wife and I both enjoyed and benefited from.

    A few years ago, I started having to constantly move/crack/manipulate my neck. All day long. I'll try to stop and I can't. Sometimes it's worse if I don't sleep well. I'm afraid I'll snap my own neck someday. It's really affecting my life and driving me crazy. I have some health issues so I see different kinds of doctors but no one has ever had any idea what it could really be. It always hurts and it feels good when I get a real good crack but never feels satisfied enough to where it's comfortable and feels right. Since I was little, I've always carried stress/tension in my shoulders and neck a lot, but I'm 29 and only since about 3 or 4 years ago did this become such a big problem. Any idea which route to go?

    • @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake
      @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake  7 лет назад +18

      Pamela Silver...Wow, there's lots of things this could be due to. Could be due to a dietary issue creating inflammation in the weakened areas. Could be a genetic condition known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Could be an issue where your brain is craving "input". My suggestion would be either of these: 1) find a good functional neurologist (a chiropractor who specializes in neurology and functional patterns), or 2) find a good prolotherapist to talk about stabilizing weak ligaments. Either should do a complete work-up on you prior to treatment, including labs to look for inflammation, possibly genetic causes, etc. Once they have that info together, you may have a better understanding of where to go.

    • @zekellie_
      @zekellie_ 7 лет назад +1

      Natural Health & Regenerative Medicine Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it! I have thyroid issues and POTS, amongst other things, so was thinking it had to do with that but the drs I see for that weren't sure. EDS has come up before. Hmmm. Will definitely see if I can find a functional neurologist. Thank you!

      I actually experied something similar. I started cracking my neck for about 3 months almost everyday. And got to a point where i would feel pain and the crackin somehow relieved it, but i just stopped and whenever i had the pain just rest, and in about 1 week everything went back to normal. Seems it was just a sore neck

Thank you in advance. (P.S. thank you for what you do. You're making people better one crack at a time. • @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake
      @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake  7 лет назад +3

      Dakan Misty, there are a few issues which you may need to address with your doctor. At 19, there are several medical possibilities which would need to be ruled out for proper care. We often see chronic spine "popping" as a potential issue with muscle tone. But, that is just one suggestion.

    • @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake
      @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake  7 лет назад +18

      That's terrible. You need to find another doctor for a second opinion. While I do be that pain freedom may not be possible for everyone, they should at least provide you with alternative solutions. Whether that is going to a specialized diet which reduces inflammation, doing yoga, PT, Massage, etc.

      Holy shit! My brother's doctor just said that too him the other day at his appointment! Spooky. But seriously, wtf is that? Hes 30 years old, 6'2, and has days where he can barely get out of bed because of back and hip pain. Even our chiropractor is not helping as much as it used too, We are afraid he is going to have too have surgery, and if he gets crippled, its going to effect our family badly, of course it would, but he is a big help to the family. Its scary, it used to be doctor's checked you out, found the issue and fixed ya, Now its 8-10 doctors, all with different opinions and often differ from the other doctors. In the end your fucked. They have my mother on more pain medication then most 2 people put together, and now she is dependant on them, too the point they are most likely making the pain worse. And if she stops, she will go into withdrawal, so yeah, my opinion of doctors has been jaded over the years...

    • @zhawn14

      I had a similar thing happen to me. Its really hard to come to grips with the concept that you are not going to be as you were. As someone who went thru this, I strongly recommend seeking out a therapist or someone to talk to as it can lead to depression. Also, making yourself pain free may not immediately occur, but can be feasible years down the road. Its a lot of work and consultations, but ultimately it is very possible to improve to a point of full functionality. I started not being able to work or even get out of bed (which also sank me into a deep depression and became suicidal). Its now almost 7 years later and my life has never been better: job, married, and able to do almost everything I could before. My recommendation, do not wait for a doctor or someone else to pull a magic solution out; get proactive and start figuring out things that make your pain better and worse (I kept a journal for 2 years for sleep patterns and everything I did so I could determine what hurt me and what made me feel better). Try massage, Physical Therapy, accupuncture, trigger point injections, yoga, weight training, etc.; you will find somethings work great and some don't. Finally, seek a chronic pain specialist; no one wants to take pills, but if you are in chronic pain, they can let you resume your life and find a way out of the hole. I wish you the best.

      OMG They gave me the exact same answer (in Europe). Saying the back is such a difficult area they just focus on reducing the pain without addressing the problem.

    I like the fact that He's got a doctor that wants to help him and is trying to do it in a way that will not require coming back. Rare !

    I always wanted to learn to be a chiropractor. One showed me how to do a light adjustment on my horses just for their general health. I learned a horse uses it's head to adjust weight when in pain, in turn it causes the teeth grind unevenly to an extreme causing a wealth of other problems. Giving them some good simple cracks helps with their over all health!!

    I had almost this EXACT same issue as this guy.
    My Chiro did 3 - 4 adjustment sessions over a month and since i have been perfect.
    I know that feeling this guy had at the UMMMPH, and then the moment that you lay there like WTF just happened to me.
    It's such an amazing difference.

    I know just how it feels. At first it hurts and you’re like, “NONONONO STOP, THAT DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT!” Then when the crack happens you’re like, “OWwwww...... wow I actually feel relieved and way better.”

    • @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake
      @NaturalHealthCenterMedicalLake  7 лет назад +2

      Actually....your brain does start "needing" it. To put it in simple terms, it becomes "used to" the extra movement, and feels "weird" when there isn't any. My suggestion: stop doing it and in about 3 weeks the "need" sensation would start going away. But, it will be tough to do that. If you have a DC as part of your healthcare team, I would talk to them about changing the style of treatment...from a "Cracking" to a "non cracking". See my "grandpa floats video"...that may give you some insight.

      Bont the viking: no. I am not aware of any studies that shows cracking your knuckles or fingers is bad for long-term issues. Mine crack all the time actually.
