Prior to 1989 they were manufactured by GMC. Always great buses, I miss them tremendously. We had them in Western and Central Massachusetts as well as Boston as well, where I once lived. Great buses! Still want to plan a trip there one day to the museum.

Loved these buses along with Blue Bird school buses. Dang shame they retired these at Disney World.

The rts is a page of my childhood. I loved these things as jatran in Jackson used these up until 2007 and I was pissed when they got the Gillig lowflors and retired the old RTS busses

We have RTSes in Canada. Most of them are in Toronto and don't have pop-out doors.

Looks like a good bus and maybe a little wider than a school bus. Nice lines and body shape. I wonder if these make good RV conversions? Where are you located?

We had GMC RTS 2s here in Rochester, the last of them left in 1998.

***** Little Rock did as well but it was 1981 models that last through 2006.

+LittleRockElevators We had seven 1980 models in Shreveport. They lasted until 1996. Our fleet is mostly like Little Rock's. 35 and 40ft Gilligs. Most of the 40 footers are on their way out. We have New Flyers as well.

qwandiddy I took me a long time to stop hating the Gilligs. I hated the way they sounded. I didn't like our Orion 5s at first either because they replaced our Flxibles and RTS. I love our New Flyers though. We got 5 C40LFR and 9 C35LFR in 2011 and 5 XN40 last year.

I've seen the Orions in New Orleans. They look and sound awesome.
