Great tips, will be implementing some of these rather than overdubbing.

Would definitely sound better with an IR, but interesting approach of removing top end and putting it back in. I'll have to give it a try.
I'm curious how you handle crowd sounds/ambience in your context. If there are cases when the lead vocal is loud in the ambient mics but your autotune/melodyne creates some problems against the crowd. Or if you overdub your leads and they clash with the crowd.

Totally agree about IR. But sometimes within the aspect the entire mix I dont want the IR. It always just depends on what the song needs.
I'll for sure do a video about the tuned vocals with room mics. But the short of it is automating the room mics as much as you can without losing the feel of it. Dropping them just a couple of db when theres a out of tune vocal. Hope this helps!

wow this is an alternative option! btw have you tried inserting an acoustic ir? I tried it on my recording and it sounded like captured on mic... and hey i'm S1 user too 😎

Yes! I love me some acoustic IRs. I use them at times. Always trying to use what suits the mix the best.
Studio One is simply the best!

I think that you should get affiliate links for plugins because I never heard of Oxygen before and I could purchase it. DO you have a Studio One Template that I could use? Have you upgraded to version 7?

I need to jump on the affiliate stuff. Just havent been able to yet!
I'm working on getting templates put together! hopefully have it available sometime in the next 4-6 weeks. If you're on the email list, you'll be the first to hear about it.

Absolutely. Just make sure you put your effects plugins after the acoustic instrument VST and you're good to go!
