"Wasshoi Wasshoi Wasshoi Wasshoi!" Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊They have come a long way since 'Gimme Chocolate', but even before then they were proving themselves and had some great songs. That was the song that went viral and that most people saw first. It is a real fun live song, but it really doesn't represent everything they can do and sadly it has been known to turn people off them altogether ....which is a real shame.
There is nobody quite like BABYMETAL. They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group and created their own metal sub-genre mixing Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics. They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014.
We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet and the most successful Japanese band there has been internationally.
The name BABYMETAL is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons:
    - to symbolise that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal)
    - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun):
    BABYMETAL = ベビーメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru)
    heavy metal = ヘビーメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru)
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands.
The original third member, Yuimetal, last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for (undisclosed) health reasons until she announced in October 2018 that she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band.
After Yui left Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo through to and a bit beyond their 10th anniversary. So it was just the two of them for 4 or 5 years supported from 2019 by 3 dancers who would take turns dancing in the third spot until 1st April 2023 when one of those dancers, Momoko, was finally revealed as the new official third member.
This video was filmed at the start or last November at the NEX_FEST events in Japan arranged by Bring Me The Horizon.
They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. The Kami Band of the West (American musicians) joined them in 2019 and have been the full time support for the lengthier tours around the world (they played nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year).
You will only see and hear the Kami Band in live performances, they do not record the studio versions (with one guitarist being the known exception).
They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it.
Their official videos are all very good, but live BABYMETAL is where they are always at their best. You will get some great suggestions for more songs - I see jakemuller8626, Icipher3535 and others have provided great lists already - I'm sure you will get a load more. Some are straight metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. All you can be sure of is that they will surprise you every time, you will not be able to predict what you will see or hear from them next. Expect the unexpected.

Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 30+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US, but are performing at some metal festivals such as Download UK this year. 🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
You already have a ton of great info but I'd like to remark just a few key points about them: they started in 2010 being 12 and 11 years old as a sub-unit of a larger j-pop idol group called Sakura Gakuin. They are incredibly good live where they are backed by a session band called Kami Band formed by top tier musicians. They are very diverse musically since they like to mix any music genre with metal. So, always expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁
    Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey!

Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands including ones you have already reacted to. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
The title is a synthesized word from two words : "Metal" and "Matsuri (= festival)" → Metali.
The audience did get low at every venue in the world, because no one can resist following our Queen's direction. 😄 (Then they jump up from crouching posture like spring ejectors after Momoko's "Are you ready ?" growl.)
If you want to know the deep meaning of the lyrics please check Professor Hartley's channel (Andrew Hartley).

Babymetal is the most popular metal/rock band to ever come out of Japan. They are credited with paving the way for many of those bands you named who are now receiving wider recognition in the west. How was it taking a 10+ time leap from "Gimme Chocolate" (which they still perform) to this which is very indicative of the energy and excitement they bring to every stage they're on. I think It'd be great if you reacted to some more Babymetal. I'd only say their live performances are legendary so for maximum Babymetal you might want to consider keeping to live performance. Best wishes...you have soooo much wonderful music ahead of you! 🦊🦊🦊

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Always glad to see new reactors getting to know this amazing group and making the fans going bonkers with this brand new collab song along with guitar legend Tom Morello.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About this song:
"This is officially the first new song by the newly reborn BABYMETAL, now consisting of SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL.
This song is very up-tempo and one that was created with the envision of a summer festival taking place in a metal village and everyone forming a circle to celebrate the festival.
BABYMETAL is ready to make this summer even hotter with their new song.
BABYMETAL are now celebrating a very special collaboration with legendary guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine.
This collaboration with BABYMETAL will become a very exciting opportunity for both artists transcending generations."
    Tom Morello comment:
_"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"_
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV (2015)
So cool to see you following SuMetal commands, you're gonna have some real fun when going to one of their live shows, don't lose that spirit.
Not cool saying they're inspired in another Japanese female band, maybe the juxtaposition of bands like MTH could be one of the inspiration because they were clearly around way before BM, in any case the producer took inspiration mainly from bands such Seikima-II and X-Japan for certain songs and aesthetics.
I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it.
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ruclips.net/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/видео.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/dU38CYkpBvI/видео.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ruclips.net/video/nwsinmxTxbo/видео.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/видео.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ruclips.net/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/видео.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ruclips.net/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/видео.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ruclips.net/video/ESzY9dL613Q/видео.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ruclips.net/video/1dT1ywYR5So/видео.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ruclips.net/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/видео.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ruclips.net/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/видео.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ruclips.net/video/M8FKumvh-w8/видео.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      ruclips.net/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/видео.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      ruclips.net/video/q40VmTHSh4c/видео.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      ruclips.net/video/aIb2xEthdSg/видео.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL
There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year.

The name of the song "Metali" is actually a portmanteau of the words "metal" and "matsuri" (a traditional Japanese festival), so it's a song about a metal festival. This video was filmed at NEX_FEST in Japan in November 2023. Live is the intended way to experience Babymetal, so we always recommend to watch their live performances. Credit to you for getting low. I got low at the recent Legend MM concert and almost couldn't get up again.
Babymetal are Japan's most internationally famous musical act. They are managed by the Amuse talent agency, which is the largest talent management company in Japan. The group began in 2010 when Amuse producer Key "Kobametal" Kobayashi came up with the idea of combining J-pop with heavy metal because he wanted to revive interest in metal in Japan, and thought that blending the two would be a good way to make metal more approachable to new audiences. Babymetal called their blend of metal music and J-pop vocals, dance and aesthetics "kawaii metal" (cute metal). Babymetal started as a sub-unit of the J-pop idol group Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy), which was an idol group for teenage girls themed around school life and afterschool clubs; Babymetal was the juonbu (heavy music club). After a few years, as Babymetal became more and more popular, they separated from Sakura Gakuin and became an independent act in 2013.
The original founding lineup of Babymetal was lead vocalist Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), who was 12 years old at the time, backing vocalist and dancers Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) who were both 10. Su-metal and Moametal continue as members of Babymetal to this day, but Yuimetal retired from Babymetal in 2018 due to illness. In April 2023, Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) became the new third member of the group, after performing with them as a support dancer for four years. This video features the current lineup of Su-metal (in the middle), Moametal (on the right), and Momometal (on the left).
It is worth noting that only the three girls are Babymetal. The backing band that plays with them for live performances is called the Kami Band (God/Spirit Band), and is made up of top session musicians handpicked by Kobametal to accompany them. There are actually two Kami Bands, one made up of Japanese musicians known as the "Kami Band of the East", who mostly play the Japan shows and some shows in Asia, and the American Kami Band, known as the "Kami Band of the West", who play most of their European and American tours. Although this show was in Japan, it was the American Kami Band playing, so the musicians were Chris Kelly (guitars), CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass), and Anthony Barone (drums). Since 2019, the band have worn masks to obfuscate who is who, but fans know who all the members of both bands are. The Kami Band do not play on the studio recordings, they are only for live performances.
Over the course of their 13+ year career, Babymetal have released four studio albums and eighteen live albums; toured the world multiple times, including in 2023 where they did 94 shows in 25 countries; performed at many of the world's biggest metal festivals; appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert; toured and performed with many of the biggest names in metal; and won numerous awards, particularly for their spectacular live performances, for which they are most famous.

Great reaction, and welcome to Babymetal! Their sound will be so varied, not a single song is the same!
    Quick clarification on members/band:
*2010:* Formation with Su, Moa, and Yui
*2012:* Kami Band added for encores only for live shows
*2014:* Kami Band supports Babynetal fully for all live shows.
*2017 Q4:* Yui stopped performing due to health.
*2018:* Various backup dancers (2-5) joined Su and Moa, then Yui left officially end of 2018.
*2019:* “Avengers”, 3 backup dancers added to rotate into 3rd spot, one of them is Momoko. Kami Band West added to assist with touring.
*2023:* Momo made official 3rd member in Apr. Kami Band West becomes primary band.
    Hope that helps!

Welcome in the Foxhole, this was one of their core songs on this Tour 94 concerts aboutv250.000 guests. I thi k they have still this Session in their bones. And this song had the purpose to give their new member a moment in the spotlight.
Originally they had get down but in New York they had problems, they audience could only sit on each others lap... So Moa and Momo agreed that this was low enough calmed Su down and continued. A fter this the call out was exchanged to get low so the audience knew that if necessary they could still be on their feet but as low as possible. Things you have to think about when your audience is between 5 and 85 years old and 40% females. They can't sit down and stand up on call and you dont want to sit in the lap of strangers.

Have you noticed it's all "adult" men, sometimes in their 60s who love this band of little girls dressed as maids or schoolgirls or anything else creepy?

I seen them live in Boston last year, 5000 fans, average age was probably about 35 - 40. Not much different than any other metal show I've been to. Probably 20% female as well. The girls are now in their mid twenties, except for the new member. Their old live videos from years ago when they were kids had largely older men in their crowds, and even looked cultish at times, but that was in Japan. They were introduced here in America by Stephen Colbert on The Late Show and the audience freaked out, loving them. There were many girls in the crowd screaming too. It was obviously a young audience as well. Lastly, the girls dress more modestly than 95% and any western female artist. You are entirely wrong with your assessment of Babymetal and their fanbase.
