Osa
Inflamed scalp: Dermatitis Herpetiformis is an inflamed, itchy rash with bumps and blisters. The inflamed rash is chronic, and can continue over a long period of time left unchecked. Seborrheic Dermatitis is a waxy, oily, scaly scalp skin condition with erymetha or reddening associated with scalp irritation and inflammation.
Emu oil benefits
It can be used as a moisturizer and as a skin nourishing treatment. Many are turning to pure emu oil for helping with the battle against fine lines and wrinkles as well. Skin conditions tend to respond well to the anti-inflammatory properties which soothe the skin and help relieve inflammation.
that's why I hate when people say oh your tender headed; like it's a genetic predisposition. something is causing it and it could just be dietary or environmental.
Fr tho I hate when people tell me that
Can also be chemical, people who caused scalp trauma with hair relaxers/perms which is highly acidic
Cap I see big people with full thick hair
@@davidhey52what can help with the pain though?
My Family Fixed This - Naturally:
1. Wash your hair with Sulfur 8 shampoo, using a silicone scalp massager.
2. Let it dry naturally. Be sure to blot the excess water with a brand new towel or one that you have never used on your hair / body before.
3. That night, SMOTHER your entire head with Vaseline - wrap it in a scarf and sleep that way. Why? The easiest, most 'natural' way to kill the yeast / candida and anything else that is living on your scalp which is what is probably happening - in a matter of minutes - is to simply smother it - NO OXYGEN means no ability to breathe, thrive, grow or survive.
4. The next morning, mix bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil (whatever ration you want...it really does not matter) into a bowl (do not use a metal spoon when mixing clay - use plastic or wood only). SMOTHER your scalp with the clay, let it dry then just sit under the shower and let it rinse off until the water runs clear. You may need to do this a few times to get all of the Vaseline off of your scalp and hair - but you'll see that you've just 'killed' the yeast when not one hair follicle itches.
Repeat weekly, or as often as you need to and be sure to hot wash with white vinegar and baking soda all of the bedding, towels, clothing and anything else that it may be living on. (fyi never mix bleach and vinegar). We tried this - and it literally solved the problem overnight. If there is a new issue we just repeat the process. Good luck and God Bless!
Thank you I’ll give it a try 😢

I bought Emu oil after watching this video as i get really bad scalp pain at the front of my head, yesterday the pain was so bad and i put some Emu oil and I cant believe how good my scalp felt after, im so happy i found something that helps, it doesnt feel as sensitive and the pain mostly gone, my hair had thinned alot so will update as to whether it helped my hair grow back in a couple of month :-)
What’s your hair type?
How are your hairs now?
Hi, did your hair grow back?
Hello?
I just don't understand why all of a sudden this is happening to me. I have this problem with the feeling that someone is pulling my hair out, as well as my scalp burning, itching, and hurting. This also happens every time I move my hair. I don't see anything noticeable on my scalp. I'm afraid that my hair will fall out. I just did a big chop and I don't want to be bald. I just want to have long and healthy hair for once in my life!
Can I ask u..r ur hair okay now?? Bcoz rn this is happening with me and I'm scared..
@@aartithakare8397 My hair/scalp is a bit better now. Although, it still itches almost everyday, but it doesn't burn or hurt that much anymore.
The reason why my hair/scalp could be acting like this, is because it could be either my eczema coming back, putting certain hair products directly onto my scalp, and on top of that scratching so much.
But for some time now, the itching and burning of my scalp has gone down some, not completely, but it's almost quite mild. Hopefully soon I'll find out what's the actual problem. I'll update if there's any changes :)
@@MoonSun00 thanks a lot for the response..and yes i pray to God u will a solution soon.
I feel you. I'm going through the same thing.

I thought I was the only one with this issue (top mostly also) - I just had my first silk press 4 days ago and I cried on the chair from the pain during detangling/blowdrying. I will look into EMu oil. Thank you Osa!
Did it help?
My tender scalp is in the front as well. I have recently started wearing crotchet twists and the girl who cornrows my hair did it very tight, I ended up taking them out a week later. Your hair is so nice and thick and gorgeous by the way!! Thanks for sharing!
I have been having sore scalp at the crown and saw your video. I have every oil in the world.....almost....lol
I went and parted my hair and put the Emu oil on it and my scalp felt so much better. Every area I put the Emu oil I could tell the difference in my scalp. Will certainly keep using it on that spot.
Karen Marsh have you noticed a difference a year later?
Osa your hair is so full and beautiful!
I have SD, seborrheic dermatitis. Oils and conditioner on the scalp is bad for me (it feeds the fungal overgrowth). I need to wash with harsh sulfates to keep it at bay and with my medicated shampoo (Nizoral 2%), which is prescribed to me. Not every scalp issue is the same. Always have it checked out by a doctor / dermatologist. It's worth it not having to go through all the experimenting on your head!
+Marleen G. I agree 100%, these are merly suggestions :). Take it or leave it sis.
Gotcha, Osa! Just trying to tell my story, share my experiences, sharing is key to me! :D
+Marleen G. I feel you. How is the medicated shampoo working for you? Is it drying your hair out? What types of things have been working for you? I ask bc I am sure others can learn from your experience.
It is *very* drying, oh yes sure it is. :) I combat that with conditioning twice after washing. Yes, twice. Sometimes 2 masks, or even a lighter conditioner and then a deep conditioner (hair mask), and that seems to work well for me. I do the LOC/LCO method afterwards and I'm set for the week. Sometimes I do an oil rinse after washing (just on the lengths of the hair as I can't let it touch my scalp). It works for me. Thanks for letting me share! Appreciate it. :D
no thank you for sharing, it helps others.
You may be onto something with that inflammation...my doctor has been scratching her head to figure out what my blood work says I have inflammation. I keep telling her my scalp feels inflamed and itch a lot. She never turned her attention to my scalp so I've been left on my own. I have emu oil, just never kept using it. I plan to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
has the emu oil worked
Hope you are better now. Did you see a dermatologist? Or only your regular doctor? Did they check your scalp ph balance or see if it was fungal? Maybe using an antibacterial/antimicrobial oil would help.
@@preciouscarmen89 I have just gone to a hair stylist that is also a chemist and she told me that most of what we put in our hair has things in it that causes inflammation of our scalp because I have this and it’s usually after I added things in my hair for awhile and when I shower and soak my scalp pain goes away.
Going natural ingredients on our scalp is what will heal our hair. I recommend the RUclips channel green beauty if you don’t have a organic or vegan hair stylist near you

Wow the growth, more importantly the volume sheesh gurl can I get some, I think I need to get on that onion thang, I'm just afraid that it'll cause more issues on my scalp since I'm already struggling with flakiness, itchiness, scabs that never go away
onion juice is the best this that ever could have happened to me. i promise you it wont cause scalp issues. just start using it once a week. I feel off a bit, but once my hair started giving me problems I hopped right back to it, and now Im shedding less. than you for watching and commenting.
LivingWithOsa ok I'll give it a go, thanks for sharing ☺️xx
@@Lucky-uz6jk giiiiirl I also started onion juice rinsing for my CCCA, and I started smelling like onions too! I made an extra strong blended batch. It starts to seep into your pores and as soon as your scalp gets even the slightest bit warm, you smell like jollof rice😂😂 it really did help my hair though, so I should probably get back into it. I'd like to stop using my prescribed steroid cream and go back to natural remedies.
Wow...I'm scratching my scalp (ya gurl was diggin) and I realize how much I'm tired of having scalp issues...I thought about your channel, got my phone and BAM! I saw the vid in my feed. THANK YOU!
Recently I found a Etsy shop I get my coconut free product from is not up anymore (not great because I don't know anyone else who sells coconut free ANYTHING). no please don't relax. Protective style more often sis :). that is what i do when I can't deal with my hair. good luck on your journey.
What hair care products can I use for my tender/sore scalp
Can tender scalp cause you to have migraines. I can’t even put my hair up in a little ponytail without it hurting
Someone said use Aztec clay, plain sugar free yogurt. Honey , and olive 🫒 oil …Make a paste or creamy cream and rub all over the scalp …😢My scalp is super tender…I will try it
I put rice water on my scalp and 4 days later it’s on fire! And hurting!
How often should you oil your scalp?
I need that oil! My scalp aches so badly after I get it braided. It feels like I'm lying on ropes for the first few days. Even when my hair isn't tight, it hurts very badly. Then, by the time it grows out, it's time to wash and rebraid it. Mentally, I can't go more than a couple of weeks without washing my hair.
I have been experiencing a burning sensation in certain areas of my scalp but now it's starting to thin in those areas. Anyone experienced this and was able to grow your hair back?
Please help I got the same problem
Yes mine keeps happening in the crown. When it happens I run my head under warm water gently massaging that area. I’ll dry the area and take some oil and massage it in. Lastly before bed I’ll lay on my back across my bed and let the blood run to that area and massage to stimulate hair growth.
You may have to visit a dermatologist. It kind of sounds like ccca
I have experienced this. It's possibly CCCA, a form of alopecia. If you can find a Trichologist in your area, make an appointment. But don't delay. See a dermatologist or your doctor immediately. They may give you topical steroids to stop the pain and help with hair growth.
@@sharticiagomez2458 thanks
i use emu oil n my diy hair butter. luv ur hair n thnkx 4 sharing ur knowledge with us.😊
I love that stuff. you're are very welcome.
ohhh I have the same problem, the doctor send me medicated shampoo Ketoconazol 2%, but it dries out your hair and the first week you have to use it every day. Then I started to use head and shoulders the almond one, it does not dry my hair that much, but I must shampoo my hair every 3 days or so, other wise it starts to itch a bit. Just recently I discovered rhassoul clay and I loved it, and it left my hair very soft, but it was very messy.
Oils seem to make it worse if I dont wash them out within half an hour or so. Hope you find something that works for you. Hugs
TheWashAndGoChick I appreciate your comment. where did you get rhassoul clay from? my hair is very dry but I get head aches with oil in my scalp. so its like a catch 22. I tend to just put the oily products at my ends or midway away from the scalp. but that doesn't solve the dandruff or occasional itch. and like you said i get "fungal" like substance in my scalp. probably from thick moisterizer cream. mine is white. is that the same thing? sorry for such a long comment 🙊
TheWashAndGoChick if you have dry scalp (which most dermatologists try to say doesn't exist, they say it's dandruff [seborrheic dermatitis] and treat it with things like head and shoulders or ketakonazol - basically you should avoid dandruff shampoo) so if you use those things, the irritation can get much, much worse. I do not understand why dermatologists think dry scalp doesn't exist. There's thousands of threads online with millions of people who have been suffering for decades and who keep getting misdiagnosed and mistreated. They also say to wash your hair more often (bc they truly think it's dandruff/seb derm, but again, that makes true dry scalp much worse. I wash my scalp and hair no more than twice a week. I found a shampoo on Amazon called Anti-b that works very well. It's packed with natural ingredients that are antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing. It's got no sulfates. But... It's pricey. I have tried a few different tea tree shampoos, but the only one that didn't further irritate my scalp was the Jason brand tea tree shampoo. Also no sulfates or parabens. A lot of people swear by the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special shampoo, but it's loaded with chemicals and burns my scalp. In 25 years of fighting the dry irritated scalp war, the Anti-b and Jason Tea Tree shampoo are the only things that help. I had tried many co-washes, and a lot of the different Shae Moisture brand shampoos, but with no luck.
As far as oils, many people's scalps don't take well to certain oils, and the oil actually suffocates the scalp. Coconut oil is very popular, but not great for a lot of people. I haven't tried the Emu Oil yet. For me personally, I can't leave oils on my scalp for very long. I would love to be able to wrap my head and keep an oil on overnight, but my scalp doesn't breathe well with oils. I recently heard to use just plain ol' vegetable oil, but I have not tried it yet. I like to take a comb and lightly but quickly go over my dry patches to loosen them up before massaging an oil in or washing my hair. With the Anti-b shampoo, I use just a tiny bit of water, just enough to thin the shampoo out a bit because it's quite thick, and massage it onto my dry scalp. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then add water and wash it out. I hope that helps. There's a lot of us out here struggling with this issue. It gets very itchy, the dry patches often end up pulling off a whole chunk of skin, leaving raw patches that burn and scab, and it can be very embarrassing. I pray you'll find a solution soon. I will say that it's treatable but not curable, unfortunately. God bless you
Used a condition eith medicated shampoos
thank you for sharing. I need to try this because my scalp gets so inflamed and tender with SD that I cringed when you parted your hair. I don't part my hair because it hurts so much. Question: I am "Tender headed" It's been 1 year and 5 months since I got a Sew in done. I just got a Sew in done on Last Monday. The crown of my head started hurting so bad to the point where I had to take it down. The crown of my head is still hurting it's been 6 days I don't know what to do. I think it's from the braids i use to have sensitive scalp because of my mom brushing my hair dry when braiding and braiding it so tight i stop braiding and went natural now and my hair is healing now its getting better but i advice to stopping braiding your hair or don't braid it too tight then you hair be okay take a break from braiding and try letting your hair down as much as possible hope this helps
