STOP PRESS - and don't shoot the messenger or store - what I called ebony here is rosewood and the mahogany is South American. aNueNue fail on translation - and it's not just World of Ukes who were told that HMS in Hawaii were too... Grrrrrrrr.
Hey brands - get your product specs accurate eh?
So the ebony / rosewood error was on fingerboard, bridge, and headstock veneer? OK. Still an absolute stunner. Sounds great and just my favorite size.
You are right. We should be able to trust the brand's description of its own products. Still a lovely piece though.
I think south American is a better name for it since since US still has embargo with cuba
In your thumb nail your call this the uc 100 witch is rosewood in desription and review uc 110 is that where the confusion is I think the 110 is ebony
Correct - doesn't change my view on the score
Just beautiful, Baz! I love watching your expressions of pure bliss when you play something that really moves your soul! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
My kind of ukulele. Just enough bling, not excessive, satin finish and quality construction. And it sounds good! A nice review.Thanks.
Exactly the same ticks in my boxes Jeff.
Love aNueNue ukes and this one is no exception! Love those green accents.
Glad you like them!
Superb!Funfact:The moment you started playing the looks grew on me,they fit the sound. That`s classy!
Know exactly what you mean!
A tone like a Westminster clock chime. Superb in every respect.
Thanks for another great review, got to love Mahogany, can’t imagine how exceptional it will be in a few years when it has opened up. It’s a great concert, so lovely picked strummed and has the looks. Someone in aNueNue knows this series is going to get a warm reception. Have. A great week.
Couldn't agree more!
That sounded more like a tenor than I had expected. I love the styling too. Very nice. It is serious money but I think that it punched above its weight.
Agree!
Beautiful to look at, and I love the sound!
Glad you like it!
Yes this might be my own choice too (if only I could afford it!) The resonance really helps blend the sound eg through chord changes and the design is very clever doing just enough to make it unique and memorable.
Totally agree!
Digging the looks and the sound sample! It's easy to see its inspiring to play! Great review as always ~
Much appreciated!
Wow! That's absolutely gorgeous Baz! In looks and sound. If I had the money I would snatch somebody's hand off for one. I love Mahogany Ukes and that's a stunner. Thanks for this one. Really enjoyed.
You and me both!
Beautiful instrument! Sounds great!
It is!
I love the green decoration, even the chunk on the bottom end. Wouldn't mind more.
When I first heard the name my heart sank that they wouldn't go overboard (like a lime green rosette or headstock) so this subtlety works for me. Same with the strings. I think it could take a bit more, agreed, but not sure it needs much. You don't notice it until close and I like that.
Purely lovely!
I really like the green touches.
Even the choice of strings which I thought were Aquila's AGxAQ.
Thanks for the great work!
You were not the first to guess at Aldrine strings!
Bugger! You've got me looking round my bedroom now seeing what I could sell to fund this 😍 there's not a single negative I could see or find, they've really thought about everything, could have been so easy just to put plain aquilla strings on our more non discript tuners, or not bother with the fine green binding line. Amazing tone, thanks for another UAS feeding review my friend.
That was my view writing it up - it's just wonderful!
I don't normally like this type of rounder modern body shape, but this one is an exception. Love the subtle green accent details and the green of the hard case❤
Glad you like it!
Really beautiful uke. I would go for the tenor. Great review again! Thanks!
Am sure they are all great!
This is beautiful. What a lovely ukelele thanks Barry
Thanks for listening
I could tell by your enthusiasm this is a must have instrument. I've just watched it again
If I had the funds - this would NOT be going back!
I agree me too.
Definitely on my radar I have a cedar bird low g this will be my next high g
I have several solid mahogany ukes of different sizes. I love them.
My favourite uke wood too
Baz thanks a ton. I have been eyeballing this one pretty much from day one of them showing up. I was a little concerned it may not have "enough" in a concert scale. Your review has put that to rest. I'm really pleased they did this in a satin finish. Great review...and timely. Thanks again.
More than enough - big lower bout, clever bracing, top quality mahogany.
@@GotAUkulele... I have been kicking the tires for about a month wanting a new concert. I wasn't really looking to drop a grand, but boy oh boy do I like this uke...dang it. Thanks again for the review... I think.
Sorry!!@@hilltop1845
It’s really too bad that you didn’t like this Barry. 🤪. Really lovely. Looks like ANueNue stepped up its game. Terrific review. Makes me want to find one and play it. Have a good week.
Ha - thanks Denise!
💚 keep it! I’m-a-tellin’ you! Keep it!
Ha ha - will be going back this week!
Thought it was a soprano in the macro. Green Bird because, as you said, it induces envy.
They knocked it outta the park! I prefer mahogany instruments, they just sound better. Purfling actually has a practical use. If the instrument is knocked on the edge, and cracked, it stops the crack from going all the way through the top or back.
Green with envy bird 😜🤣👌
And the Bazzy goes to... UC-110 Green Bird Concert! Good job Anuenue.
Ha ha!
I love the look of this ukulele. The finish does look nice so nice in fact I thought it was a light gloss. I always liked their headstock and the toners are very nice. I love Mahogany sound so there’s that. The mahogany really works with the sound of this instrument. I would keep it high G and the sound is great 👍🏼 love this one… again thanks for a very enjoyable review Baz…..DOC
Concert - certainly WOULD keep it high G - I find low G's on concerts are always flabby. Mind you, I don't keep anything low G any more
Thanks Baz - one I was really curious about - and my word it’s glorious! I wonder if there will be any left when I’ve saved the money for a World of Ukes visit.
Not sure how many he has in!
@@GotAUkulele hopefully Matt’s planned for the deluge and has hundreds of them (making himself a well-deserved decent amount of money in the process).
You just made me realize why I won’t part with an inexpensive low rated laminate concert….mahogany. It pales in comparison to this beautiful ukulele, but it has hints of what pleases my ears.
Fortunately for my wallet the ridiculous humidity swings in my apartment have halted all purchases…for now.
Mahogany is such a beautiful, mellow tonewood for guitars AND ukuleles....to be honest, I've lost count but, I know I have sopraninos, sopranos, concerts and a tenor ukes !
PS, the book-matching is beautiful, the sound/tone is as well !
My favourite on ukuleles too - works so well on small instruments
@@GotAUkulele ...however, mahogany still comes a close third to maple and koa !
You see - I find it tops koa for me. Something about that mid tone that it has - but then i'm a lover of those old Martin sopranos @@lyndamcardle4123
Can't argue with your premise ...it's always personal and therefore, always subjective !@@GotAUkulele
bridge, headplate and fingerboard is made of rosewood not ebony.
"FRETBOARD
Rosewood is a hard tone wood with open pores. It's a stable wood to be a fretboard, and also adaptable to climate changes. Green resin-wood inlay on the fretboard adds alluring finesse and
texture."

Not according to spec sheet sent to me. Ukulele Site in Hawaii also have it listed as ebony. But will check and correct if wrong.
BTW the thumbnail says UC100, which is the sitka bird concert. :)
Dammit!
Sorted - thanks!
Ahah my predictions were good it was the ukulele for you ! I have a Kiwaya KTC-2 concert mahogany and it is definitively one of my favorite ukes, I especially like the tension of the strings on concert, it is much more confortable than the tension on tenors that I find a little stiff (not a problem of the strings hurting my fingers, as I play steel string guitar, but more a question of feeling). I will try to have a hand on one of those, I like the coalition of shimmery highs and deep low, as I am currently looking for a deeper low ukulele to sing easier with it.
Maybe I should try lower tension strings on my tenors. Many Thanks for the review !
Worth having a try of!
@@GotAUkulele Yes I will try that Anuenue I have found there is a new ukulele specialist in France with a very nice selection of Ukes that has a tenor version of this model so I will go try it next time that I am in Paris. Nice to see that there is a good new ukulele specialist in France (it is a little bit older but I was not aware of their existence before ^^), my last three ukuleles were bought at World of Ukes and the service was top-notch, but I may do a few infidelities to Matt to try to support a more local shop, we will see ;). For all the Frenchs out there, the shop is called La Casa de ukulele and is near Paris and stocks Anuenue, Kiwaya, Rebel, L Luthier, Koaloha, etc.
Sold !! Saving my pennies for this gem.
Worth saving!
Have you change your audio set up... Just trying not to be biased genuinely one of the best samples I've heard. Excellent tone and responded well to your playing.
No, nothing - same Rode mic and placement. To be honest, I think it clipped a bit on this one (which shows you it has power!)
@@GotAUkulele just checking it was definitely the uke 😜. Love anuenue in my head I would like to save for a Hawaiian koa uke but anuenue keeps popping up phenomenal ukes I like the sound of and wou is my closest store. Looking forward to my next visit to Matt!
Baz you should try the soprano green bird (us110) …it’s absolutely superb! 🤗
Very unlikely I ever look at same model in another scale, but I do hear good things about it
Understood 🤗. I can’t stop telling Matt how fabulous my little US110 soprano is….I'm sure he’ll block my emails at some point 😬😬😬
Ha ha - he won't - he's one of the nicest people i've met!@@clarewatkins3673
Couldnt agree more ( although I’ve only dealt with him online…he is a diamond geezer!)@@GotAUkulele

(Not really!)
Fabulous ukulele, unfortunately about 800 quid too much for me 😢
The trials of my job as a reviewer - too rich for me too, but objectively, in the scheme of everything I see - this is now low end pricing of the top tier and needs applauding for that. It a uke was made in Hawaii with these specs, tuners, case etc, you could easily near double the price.
