STOP PRESS - and don't shoot the messenger or store - what I called ebony here is rosewood and the mahogany is South American. aNueNue fail on translation - and it's not just World of Ukes who were told that HMS in Hawaii were too... Grrrrrrrr.
Hey brands - get your product specs accurate eh?

    • @joephillips4082

So the ebony / rosewood error was on fingerboard, bridge, and headstock veneer? OK. Still an absolute stunner. Sounds great and just my favorite size.

You are right. We should be able to trust the brand's description of its own products. Still a lovely piece though.

Thanks for another great review, got to love Mahogany, can’t imagine how exceptional it will be in a few years when it has opened up. It’s a great concert, so lovely picked strummed and has the looks. Someone in aNueNue knows this series is going to get a warm reception. Have. A great week.

Yes this might be my own choice too (if only I could afford it!) The resonance really helps blend the sound eg through chord changes and the design is very clever doing just enough to make it unique and memorable.

When I first heard the name my heart sank that they wouldn't go overboard (like a lime green rosette or headstock) so this subtlety works for me. Same with the strings. I think it could take a bit more, agreed, but not sure it needs much. You don't notice it until close and I like that.

Bugger! You've got me looking round my bedroom now seeing what I could sell to fund this 😍 there's not a single negative I could see or find, they've really thought about everything, could have been so easy just to put plain aquilla strings on our more non discript tuners, or not bother with the fine green binding line. Amazing tone, thanks for another UAS feeding review my friend.

They knocked it outta the park! I prefer mahogany instruments, they just sound better. Purfling actually has a practical use. If the instrument is knocked on the edge, and cracked, it stops the crack from going all the way through the top or back.

I love the look of this ukulele. The finish does look nice so nice in fact I thought it was a light gloss. I always liked their headstock and the toners are very nice. I love Mahogany sound so there’s that. The mahogany really works with the sound of this instrument. bridge, headplate and fingerboard is made of rosewood not ebony.
    "FRETBOARD
Rosewood is a hard tone wood with open pores. It's a stable wood to be a fretboard, and also adaptable to climate changes. Green resin-wood inlay on the fretboard adds alluring finesse and
    texture."

Ahah my predictions were good it was the ukulele for you ! I have a Kiwaya KTC-2 concert mahogany and it is definitively one of my favorite ukes, I especially like the tension of the strings on concert, it is much more confortable than the tension on tenors that I find a little stiff (not a problem of the strings hurting my fingers, as I play steel string guitar, but more a question of feeling). I will try to have a hand on one of those, I like the coalition of shimmery highs and deep low, as I am currently looking for a deeper low ukulele to sing easier with it.
Maybe I should try lower tension strings on my tenors. Many Thanks for the review !

@@GotAUkulele Yes I will try that Anuenue I have found there is a new ukulele specialist in France with a very nice selection of Ukes that has a tenor version of this model so I will go try it next time that I am in Paris. Nice to see that there is a good new ukulele specialist in France (it is a little bit older but I was not aware of their existence before ^^), my last three ukuleles were bought at World of Ukes and the service was top-notch, but I may do a few infidelities to Matt to try to support a more local shop, we will see ;). For all the Frenchs out there, the shop is called La Casa de ukulele and is near Paris and stocks Anuenue, Kiwaya, Rebel, L Luthier, Koaloha, etc.

The trials of my job as a reviewer - too rich for me too, but objectively, in the scheme of everything I see - this is now low end pricing of the top tier and needs applauding for that. It a uke was made in Hawaii with these specs, tuners, case etc, you could easily near double the price.
