most fans who underrate him do it because they think all he does is run, but that overlooks how hard it must be to think at that speed, make adjustments at that speed, recover balls at that speed, pass accurately at that speed. he's one guy I know who will be a top top speed sliding through a tackle while making sure he prods the ball to the right recipient at the same time. and do that at the 98th minute with 3 opponent guys around. it is like he can never give himself an excuse for why the ball didn't come back to us and why it didn't get to where it needs to

Fede is not underrated. Fede is not overrated. Perhaps it can be said the balance he provides for a side and the dream solution he is for a manager are aspects to his game that go under appreciated, but he is rated just right.

The crazy thing is, EA actually got his rating rating in EA Sports FC and they never get anything right. Only KDB, Rodri and for some reason Casemiro are above his rating. Same rating as Benardo Silva and Joshua Kimmich.

they didn't upgrade his speed for so long while that's his main attribute. I think his acceleration is still quite low in fifa compared to the sudden bursts that he do irl.
He spend most of his time in the midfield as body guard for kroos instead of playing his game. His not free to express himself
I think Fede is correctly rated. What is he doing to make people rave about him more? Yes, he gave 3 assists in the last game but which non-RM fan is focusing on an Osasuna game?
Talk about midfielders in world football doing more from the RCM position? Odegaard. Barela, Szoboszlai, KdB, just to name a few.
Fede has the ability to run a game like Steven Gerrard used to do but for some reason he prefers to just play hard and simple enough that he's trusted to play every game. That's why I hated Carlo always hooking Cama at halftime for yellow cards... it killed his daring attitude, now it's almost 2yrs since he scored a goal.
Back to Fede, there are games like the Leipzig at home where he was clearly the 3rd attacker and he never wandered into the box. Instead, you'd be seeing Carvajal in there for some reason. Or when he's playing RCM with Kroos on the left side of a 3 or diamond midfield, we already know Kroos isn't ever getting into the box, why are you also hanging outside? It's called Box to Box for a reason.
Fede has improved his patience on the ball and he's more willing to move towards the ball unlike before, but he is correctly rated at the moment. This is just like Liverpool fans thinking Endo is underrated because he's performing the basic needs of a DM in a top team.
I mildly disagree with your comment. Fede has simplistic playstyle and lacks elegant dribbling , which seems to be must-have characteristics in present midefileders. While the players you mentioned seems to have elegant styles, passing , dribbling, etc but IMO only few of them has the defensive ability fede possesses along with his pace. This season after jude's arrival (who is better offensively) Fede is commanded to do more defensive tasks, due to which carvajal can exploit more on the front .
Although he is said box to box player , he is tactically placed outside of opponent box due to his great shooting ability, his pace, ball recovery and retention ability.
also the less talked thing about Fede is his passing and ball switching. He does not hold the ball much, he prefers quick passing to the nearest teammates or long ball switching to farther teammates.
Cama is better dribbler and ball progressor but he lacks long range passing and shooting . also, he likes to hold the ball sometimes bit longer.
Also considering Fede is more useful outside of the box so it does not make sense to play him inside . with the today's intricacies of modern football, i don' t think Players are now bound or limited to certain terms or roles, or positions in the field like 'box to box'
@@press-resistancemidfielder779 lol which comment do you disagree with? You can’t say “Fede has a simplistic play style and lacks elegant dribbling…” and still call him underrated. He’s a very good player that focuses on doing the basics well. He isn’t doing extraordinary things that people aren’t noticing that’s why I said he’s correctly rated 🤷🏽♂️.
