Did not realize halts R based on previous days close. That clears up a lot because looking at these 2 stocks created a lot of confusion 4 myself. It was a head scratcher. Not no more. Thanks R, great informative teaching...

I am glad you put this video out. I traded the INVO and made some money on it. But I though the halts had to do with volume, it is nice to learn its the price causing it. Then I lost a bunch on INM today. Luckily for me my investments are still small since I am taking my time learning.

You opened my eyes, I’ve been day trading penny stocks and gaining very little, I noticed that the stock price wasn’t updating frequently and I felt stuck at times. This video explains why! Thank you. $ 5-10 trades here I come

Hey Ross. I watched this video within an hour of you posting, and I can't stop thinking about the info and questioning my watch list. I'm trying to grow my small acct ($1,500) and my watch list settings are $0.10 - $3.00 (0-20M float). I included very cheap penny stocks; trying to buy more shares for a larger % gain. Should I change my watch list perimeters to $.75 - $3.00? I'm so torn on this decision now that I'm not sure what may help me get out of PDT jail faster. Please advise. Thanks for all you do for us.

I tried penny stocks for a long time. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, I found Futures much easier trade and much more affordable if you use a prop firm. There’s also no PDT rule. But that’s just me, Penny Stocks obviously work well for other traders. I want to try it again in the future. Good video as always Ross!

Ross what d'you think would happen if I did my research, found a good stock that I think would go up but bet against it? Since the majority of do the research, find a good stock, jump I'm and it usually goes down. How are so many of us so unlucky. It's almost like the big fish make it go down till we jump out then they take their profits. Im going to test it. I'm going to do the total opposite of what my impulse is on a volatile stock. I'll let you know how it works out.
I think OTLK will be one of These short squeeze, i am watching it for a week now

We are out of the Goldilocks period in the market. Volatility in the market is crazy. Traders can’t just buy and watch these days, it’s gonna clear out crappy businesses and crappy traders. 😢
Do you have any videos of you trading live so thst we can watch you do a trade- not reiterating a trade. I can't seem to find a video like that. They say they will but they always cut too. And end up telling us what happened.

I noticed the stocks priced above $5 are often swinging violently in their price actions with huge spreads. Doesn't that make them more risky than penny stocks? And how do you control for such risks? For example, the price can go up to $7.74 & goes back down to $7.25 in a matter of seconds! If you take a position at $7.70 thinking it will go up but then swing down to $7.25 without giving you time to exit, do you panic & exit around $7.25 or do you wait hoping it will come back up to around $7.70?
You are right they can have bigger swings, if I’m a buyer off support I don’t worry as much about that kind of flush

Ross, I know this is a little off topic of penny stocks but what is up with the special acquisition stocks? I regularly see them squeezing up and immediately halting on really light volume and huge spreads. Do you avoid stocks like this? Seems impossible to manage risk. Thanks!
I’ll trade SPACs but yesterday one had a T12 halt so I’m sort of leaving them alone right
now
@DaytradeWarrior I really struggle to even read the charts in any meaningful way with the nonstop halts and the 10% or more spreads scare me. Good to know about the T12, I think keeping them out of my strategy is best. Thanks as always for the wealth of knowledge and the genuine approach to instruction!

i think it would be awesome to see Ross and Tim Grittani interview each other about the pluses and minuses of penny stocks, in terms of making millions of dollars daytrading. The intensity at that level has to be insane.

Very different methodologies. Grittani more of a "pennystocking framework" trader (at that time) and Ross more of a HFT scalper.
Unfortunately, the new SEC tick size proposal could end up having more stocks trading like those under a $1.

I use stock scanner to find these in real-time www.daytradedash.ai
If there is anything you want WT for, it’s their scanners! And even that, may be a short sell to oneself for the value WT has in the whole PRO membership provides! The paper trading platform really puts the knowledge in what the scanners provide to real (paper trading “real”) to better incorporate strategic vision. Hey @DaytradeWarrior great video I'm new to trading I'm in Australia and I was considering joining the warrior trading platform I would really appreciate if you could make a video for Australian Viewers that are wanting to day trade on the ASX. I personally would like to be able to find as early as possible ASX companies that are gapping up large percentages. I like your trading style of catching a smidge of a big percentage change although i'm struggling to find where the best place to look for these are. I'm on TWS and i'm flexible to move to another platform as I'm only beginning to learn this platform and its already having some issues.
