  • Riding through the barren, windswept roads from Pangong Tso to Hanle, we found ourselves standing at a place where time seems to pause-the Rezang La War Memorial. Nestled at an altitude of over 16,000 feet, this sacred ground echoes with tales of unmatched bravery and sacrifice.
It was here, during the 1962 Indo-China war, that Major Shaitan Singh and 113 brave soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment stood their ground against overwhelming odds. Facing brutal cold, harsh winds, and a fierce enemy, they fought till their last breath, defending every inch of this rugged terrain with unwavering courage.
Standing here, we felt an overwhelming sense of pride mixed with deep respect. The mountains whispered their silent stories, and the cold breeze carried the echoes of those heroic last stands. It’s not just a war memorial-it’s a testament to the spirit of valor, honor, and sacrifice.
As we continue our journey towards Hanle, we carry with us not just the thrill of adventure, but also the profound stories of heroes who remind us of the true meaning of courage.
