2022 Range Rover Review: This Is EXTREME Luxury
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 сен 2022
- Alex & Rory review the new Range Rover on and off road. Is it as luxurious as people think, can it still tackle the rough stuff, and what - if anything - might put you off buying?

Rory "I do all my best work in the back seat" ;)
Alex: - __ -
that's what she said :X
Amazing - it lasted the whole review without breaking down.
😂
Ha!!!
Buy what you can afford to maintain
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
I've owned 5 full-sized range rovers/supercharged. I've never had any issue of significance with any of them. Yes, once the air suspension went out on one, but I fixed it myself for less than $1500. For most people, this might not be the best vehicle for you unless you buy the extended warranty to give you peace of mind.
People who intend to run a Range Rover/Jaguar on a Corrola/Camry budget often complain about Reliability and Cost of Owning one.
I think if you know what model year, trim level, and engine type to buy, those cars will run well as long as you keep up with the maintenance.
Nobody talks about the reliability factor when reviewing a RangeRover, other than that absolutely love your content😍😍.
Shhhh.....we don't talk about reliability when it comes to Range Rover.
don't worry, every single f'ing comment on a RR review is about the reliability. just a bunch of people who will never be able to own one beating a dead horse
@@myemailiscool haha for real. They’ll never be able to own a range rover
@@bekabeka71 It seems a genuine concern that haunt this brand. Why would you brush it off with that "you're just jealous" cliche? Can't you come up with a better response when someone highlights an issue?
Then add the fact they went back to bmw, who makes the worst engines as far as reliability, and range rovers were at there worst when they had bmw motors in them, I guess the 5.0 supercharged v8 Ford developed was too reliable, yet and still we're the problem, cuz I'm still def getting one, once the first owner eats tht depreciation.
Very impressive. I may say I am more intrigued by the fun dynamics of the presentation than the technology in the car especially when it costs over 90k
👍🏼👍🏼
The new sound insulation is to make sure the driver doesn't hear the engine failing after being on the road for 5 minutes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤡 don't do maintenance and drive like it's some off roader and then cry.
@@daveblue3733 Hold up, isn't the main point of land rovers is that they designed for off roading. 🫠
Ghaaaa lol
Doubt if you can afford one.
It's a visually appealing vehicle for sure, one of the best looking. You just have to get rid of it before the bumper to bumper warranty expires. If they only offer a powertrain warranty then it's a no go for sure.
Legend has it that all Range Rover reviews are done close to a mechanic shop.
😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Gotta agree with Alex. Looks a little too polished. One reason I like the G class is that it looks expensive and rugged. But other than that amazing new Range Rover
They are hands down beautiful machines. I purchased a 21 Velar this past March, By June I had traded it in. Was in shop for repairs waiting on parts more than in my garage. I really wanted to love the vehicle. I went back to my tried and true Mercedes-Benz. May not be as flashy, but am confident it will get me from point A to B without warning lights or breaking down.
Not to mention I took a hit of over $10K from the dealer I purchased from. Less than 3,000 miles.
Had a 19 Velar V6 diesel from new for 3 years ...Not a single fault , loved every moment of the ownership experience , other than the servicing costs ..... very sad when my time with it was over.
@@kizzyp2735 maybe you should have purchased it . Glad you had a good experience. Like I said I really wanted to like the car.
Agree fully. Had a Renge some 5 years ago. Never again. Since 2020 GLE450 driven around 75k miles, no issues so far, just regular maintenance (1200$ a year average) and voila. And yes it self parks, even I don't use it, as part of serial equipment.
Alex you need to have Rory on more of your car reviews, y’all make a great team & more fans will tune in to see both of y’all reviews, I’m a be checking for her on more episodes
Don't know about you but this video was refreshing. Wouldn't mind seeing more Rory and Alex together.
They do make a great duo :-D
I loved the little acting at the beginning. Reminded me of PH videos 😂
I hope you don't mean it in that way
@@PSUC3 which one?
Love this review style, folks. Great vid.
Great Review Alex and rory. At some point, I'd like to see a show on the robustness and longevity of all this tech, not just in the Range, but all Hi Tech SUV's. Wait 5 years until the air suspension gives out !!
Borrrring.
This time it will be good coz i read in article that RR is going to install bmw engines this time
Quiet understated luxury, unlike the shouty Bentley, or Rolls and scream "look at me, I oooooze lux", the Range does it without shouting it out. Fantastic "evolution" of an Iconic car that started this segment way back in 1970 and is still at the top of it's game!!!
Never reliable
Understated?
I’m not sure you know what that word means.
@@davecrawley4634 presented or expressed in a subtle and effective way, your point?
@@dirkdesouza5975 the last thing a golden giant car with wall to wall white leather….that cost over £100k can be described as is “understated”.
It’s a stately home on wheels.
@@davecrawley4634 Clearly understated compared to the Bentley and the Cullinan, which are competitors to the Range Rover???? At that price, its a steal compared with the other two and yes "understated", not "shouty".....
Nice review featuring Alex and Rory who bought the much needed refresh for AutoTrader. I wouldn't mind seeing them together for many more reviews to come.
Love the review, Great work Alex 👍
I wish a car mag / vid channel would ask JLR for a specific explanation re what they’ve done to improve reliability and quality control.
Especially because the last-gen Rangie was recently cited as the most unreliable car overall in Warranty Direct’s 2022 survey.
That "But enough about me" at the beginning made me laugh 😂
Let me kindly ask is this car's fourwheel so strong that it can move in strong muddy places(offroad)
you guys have demonstrated this car very well, more than any other video i have seen
I love what's happening with the channel, this is so cool.
"I do my best work in the backseat" 😂 i was wondering when it was gonna get there😁
Awks
Pmsl 😂
lol he couldn’t help it
Love all your intro's it makes the video exciting
Range Rover for luxury SUV, Rolls Royce Ghost for luxury saloon to waft in, Bentley Flying Spur for luxury performance saloon, AMG GTC Coupe for performance 2-seater & a Megan RS for a daily. That's my 5 car garage. Thank you very much.
Replace the Range Rover for a Porche Cayenne and you got a perfect list.
@@m.ahussain4005 Hahaha, well that one I always say out of my 5 car garage list, I hope a close friend or sibling has a Cayenne so that I can sample it every now & then
Brilliant dynamic duo review!
AutoTrader did well getting Rory and Alex, both knowledgeable yet relatable reviewers :)
Yeah, love Alex and Rory 😄
I agree.. They have a fun dynamic too
@@Wom-Battler absolutely! 👍They work great together too!
@@Dank-One 👍👍👍
They have great on-screen chemistry
My supermarket trolley also has rear wheel steer and it’s probably less likely to break than anything made by JLM.
Hi? Where was it filmed? Love the landscape.
I think this is refreshing, having more than one person reviewing the car...like a little apple event
Enjoyed this. Thank you Team
You can always take it to Urban for a bodykit etc which will make it look more mean
U make the best video... Amazing...
Great Video
Nicely presented. I'd opt for the Sport version, though, the "full" one is a tad too large for my taste.
Good video, but would have liked to learn more about the different engines and the power output of this car
Worth noting that independent air suspension had been on LRs since 2002! The adapting party is of course new.
I’m really loving these reviews!
Absolutely perfect Voice!
RLJ really do listen to their customers, as all that sound deadening will be lovely to block outside noise from the motorway, while you’re sat their, staring at the air-suspension fault, on the hard shoulder, waiting for the AA.
I love the storytelling - made me smile 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I heard the extended warranty cost as much as the car , is that correct ?
Gorgeous reviewer, Alex
Just got mine and it’s totally stunning
Lovely car but looks very similar to previous model. Ideal if you are Captain Crusty but something less dated and more sporty, like a fully loaded SQ8 for example would be my preferred option.
my old L322 still runs pretty good and very smooth.
Very satisfying review
Can u bring up a review for the velar
I had to enter the DVLA vehicle check to find this one is a 3.0 diesel - don't know what trim. A small omission.
I agree with Alex that it's styled a bit too roundy softy on the outside (a well known automotive description) , but it will grow on most people.
Another minor point mentioned elsewhere is the door handles shout to everyone passing that the doors are unlocked (also the Sport)
Driven a lot of these over 25 years as a freelance chauffeur. The first BMW 4.4 V8 engined 2002 model was wonderful to drive in all respects.
I doubt I'll get to drive one of these now, though I worked in my later years for a JLR service centre. Not sure I could live with one for my needs, but I could try when my numbers come up.
Short wheelbase, 4WS, 5 seater, black interior with wood definitely. In fact this ext colour, trim, roof and wheel design fulfil most of what i would choose. More chrome maybe if available.
Then it's down to the engine. I'd have to suck it and see. The "base" diesel I wouldn't be averse to, though may get frumpy looks and pay double to park.
Yes, definitely need something to replace my ex - 94 Citroen ZX 1.4 Avantage that was finally euthanised 3 years ago! Nothing will ever come close 😭
Here !!! Happy to see you Rorry !!
Soft Looking is fine for me, I love the refinement, if you want rugged then get yourself an old discovery.
Beautiful scenery/castle in the footage. Where is it?
I'm not sure what I am watching but, I am really enjoying it. Its like RomCom marries the world's most elegant car presenters. Charming. And, in a class by themselves. Oh, the car? I could live with it ;)
What's the color of the this car?
BatumiGold or Sunset Gold ?
Very beautiful color ..
I like Alex , she is pretty classy and has a different perspective to Rory. Love them both
When do you ever get a space that big to reverse a Range Rover in and if you do and you can’t do it manually you need your license taken of you
Beautiful, does it get 282 miles per gallon?
awkward after "i do all my best work in the back seat" hahaaaa
This video deserves a like guys come on
Its pure class But did have you wear a watch as large as the car? hehe
I noticed one in a car park the other day that had the rear window down, it looks stupid because it's split. Thats a terrible piece of design for me. Why not just have one piece of glass in the rear door?
Brilliant car. I’ve had a Range Rover velar.but this one is amazing 😄
On top of the splendid review ...Alex deserves a round of applause...she is way underrated sometimes
She's great, love their dynamic!
She is working with arguably the best in the industry - Rory
Don't know why Rory was on there? She doesn't barge in on his reviews? Undermining a woman doing a car review on her own.
@@davee1238 Well earlier there were *a lot* of people were angry about a woman doing a car review. Those comments got overshadowed by others by now, thankfully. I think having Rory review alongside her is a way to ease everyone into the idea of having two presenters. As much as I'd love to have Alex do solo reviews more often, it could lead to too much controversy to handle, as sad as it may be. I think Autotrader's taking things slowly with introducing Alex as a reviewer. Its a smart decision imo
The space between the 2 cars was massive! Not a great demo of the auto park system
Really looks great
this is my favourite range rover generation so far
This is probably the only expensive luxury SUV I wouldn't have hesitations going off-roading...as opposed to the likes of the Bentayga and the Cullinan. But like most of the other luxury SUVs, most people buying this will baby this thing on the roads of Los Angeles, New York, London, or wherever else lol.
The plate and right driving seat says its recorded in UK. The yellow and dry fields say its spain.
What a time to be alive
9:24 There’s a rumor about a new monarch who’ll require an aid to press that button. I was really impressed and humbled to hear that the late Queen drove herself around in a Range Rover.
OMG!!!! This car's beauty is so magnificent......gives me goosebumps and tears of joy💌💌
As much as we love Rory , this duet was refreshingly fresh and enjoyable to watch .
She’s good, a lot of haters out here
Nahhh we're just being honest
Yeah she is so good and classy
Fr, people are being very rud.e for no reason
Exactly. Shes great
Looks stunning ❤ it!
Does this ride Better than the Cadillac Escalade and Mercedes GLS?
"Mr Ruggedly something.." 😂
I really like Alex ❤❤ I hope she will be there more often
She is jacked but also sounds so soothing 👌
Looks smooth
My 2009 Tiguan has auto reverse parking. You have to control break and excelerate but tech very old now. Also teslas driving themselves full automate
You guys are awesome ❤👌❤👌❤
Should have tried the Range Rover Sport V8 SVR Ultimate Edition. If that was a bit too smooth and comfortable and soft.
Where was this filmed anyone?
Do not scroll down. The comment section is a misogynistic mess.😭😭
So upsetting. Usually these videos cheer me up but ofc people would bring their problems and paranoia from other channels with them.
@@Espen_Bos The internet is like this nowadays. Its sad, but just ignore it. People are too unintelligent and too spineless to think clearly. It'll get better at some point tho
Rory and Alex and great combination nice
I need this car so bad ❤️
I quite like this new gen Range Rover, especially the styling 😄
Dad wants this car hope to buy it for him in the near future
8:24 yes rozzaaaa
I have driven one at $145,000 they were asking but what about the quality and long-term value 🤔
I prefer Rory’s reviews. More succinct, concise and always challenging the car makers
At 7:57 and 8:30, that's the Range Rover Sports seat ..😉. Point aside, I like your reviews.
This week alone I saw two Land Rovers broken down on the motorway one a 21 plate and another a 22 plate.
Buying one for my farm. Cant wait to drive this through mud and brambles 😂
Just stunning..wow.. beautiful!🤗💪💪 and there was something about a car ?
Love the new Range, but having the two of them review it together... Autotrader, u might be on to something there! This should b a running format for reviewing top tier vehicles (sport, luxury, race, hyper) u two killed it!
This is a beautiful, comfortable and high-tech Range Rover SUV.
Could you also do a review on the new Lexus LX 500d (LX 600).
That thing is beyond hideous. Sorry, just cannot help not to comment. Beyond hideous.
Nice review. There was no mention of engines range...
Waiting for this car review
Dope x
Is this new model starts to burn just like old one too? :DDDDD
