I've owned 5 full-sized range rovers/supercharged. I've never had any issue of significance with any of them. Yes, once the air suspension went out on one, but I fixed it myself for less than $1500. For most people, this might not be the best vehicle for you unless you buy the extended warranty to give you peace of mind.
People who intend to run a Range Rover/Jaguar on a Corrola/Camry budget often complain about Reliability and Cost of Owning one. I think if you know what model year, trim level, and engine type to buy, those cars will run well as long as you keep up with the maintenance.

Then add the fact they went back to bmw, who makes the worst engines as far as reliability, and range rovers were at there worst when they had bmw motors in them, I guess the 5.0 supercharged v8 Ford developed was too reliable, yet and still we're the problem, cuz I'm still def getting one, once the first owner eats tht depreciation.
They are hands down beautiful machines. I purchased a 21 Velar this past March, By June I had traded it in. Was in shop for repairs waiting on parts more than in my garage. I really wanted to love the vehicle. I went back to my tried and true Mercedes-Benz. May not be as flashy, but am confident it will get me from point A to B without warning lights or breaking down.
Had a 19 Velar V6 diesel from new for 3 years ...Not a single fault , loved every moment of the ownership experience , other than the servicing costs ..... very sad when my time with it was over.
Agree fully. Had a Renge some 5 years ago. Never again. Since 2020 GLE450 driven around 75k miles, no issues so far, just regular maintenance (1200$ a year average) and voila. And yes it self parks, even I don't use it, as part of serial equipment.
It's a visually appealing vehicle for sure, one of the best looking. You just have to get rid of it before the bumper to bumper warranty expires. If they only offer a powertrain warranty then it's a no go for sure.
Gotta agree with Alex. Looks a little too polished. One reason I like the G class is that it looks expensive and rugged. But other than that amazing new Range Rover
Quiet understated luxury, unlike the shouty Bentley, or Rolls and scream "look at me, I oooooze lux", the Range does it without shouting it out. Fantastic "evolution" of an Iconic car that started this segment way back in 1970 and is still at the top of it's game!!!

I think having Rory review alongside her is a way to ease everyone into the idea of having two presenters. As much as I'd love to have Alex do solo reviews more often, it could lead to too much controversy to handle, as sad as it may be. I think Autotrader's taking things slowly with introducing Alex as a reviewer. Its a smart decision imo

I wish a car mag / vid channel would ask JLR for a specific explanation re what they’ve done to improve reliability and quality control. Especially because the last-gen Rangie was recently cited as the most unreliable car overall in Warranty Direct’s 2022 survey.

RLJ really do listen to their customers, as all that sound deadening will be lovely to block outside noise from the motorway, while you’re sat their, staring at the air-suspension fault, on the hard shoulder, waiting for the AA.
Love the new Range, but having the two of them review it together... Autotrader, u might be on to something there! This should b a running format for reviewing top tier vehicles (sport, luxury, race, hyper) u two killed it!
Just took delivery of mine. Love it but it has its niggles (700 miles in!). Intermittent Suspension fault warning light usually at first start, doesn’t go into drive or reverse until you try and select 3/4x on occasion, wireless CarPlay is great but will need disconnecting and reconnecting sometimes to work. Other than that it’s awesome. MPG is unbelievable too, averaging 40 in the D350 HSE is better than my wife’s Velar. Erie silent and relaxing to drive. As frustrating as LR are; unreliable, crap dealer service etc you cannot replace how driving one makes you feel.
Honestly I'm just thinking why you didn't go for a Porche Cayenne then. You get all that luxury on top of performance and with the expected benefit of the car being well built. Can easily do over 100k milage with basic maintenance.

This is probably the only expensive luxury SUV I wouldn't have hesitations going off-roading...as opposed to the likes of the Bentayga and the Cullinan. But like most of the other luxury SUVs, most people buying this will baby this thing on the roads of Los Angeles, New York, London, or wherever else lol.

They did a great overhaul with the tech inside and out, and subtle changes to the design. But it is already disappointing to see many in the workshops with electronic problems and engine issues.

I noticed one in a car park the other day that had the rear window down, it looks stupid because it's split. Thats a terrible piece of design for me. Why not just have one piece of glass in the rear door?
This is one of the best refined luxury SUV. Its price tag is simply breathtaking. By the way Alexandra made a very outstanding review and I like when she paired with Rory Reid. Both are enthusiastic and hot couple. Rory should date her.

Like the rest of some of the reviews. JLR have a poor customer rating for service and reliability. Rory maybe you should run one for 6 months and report back on it...could be interesting 🤔.
Lovely car but looks very similar to previous model. Ideal if you are Captain Crusty but something less dated and more sporty, like a fully loaded SQ8 for example would be my preferred option.
I had to enter the DVLA vehicle check to find this one is a 3.0 diesel - don't know what trim. A small omission. I agree with Alex that it's styled a bit too roundy softy on the outside (a well known automotive description) , but it will grow on most people. Another minor point mentioned elsewhere is the door handles shout to everyone passing that the doors are unlocked (also the Sport) Driven a lot of these over 25 years as a freelance chauffeur. The first BMW 4.4 V8 engined 2002 model was wonderful to drive in all respects. I doubt I'll get to drive one of these now, though I worked in my later years for a JLR service centre. Not sure I could live with one for my needs, but I could try when my numbers come up. Short wheelbase, 4WS, 5 seater, black interior with wood definitely. In fact this ext colour, trim, roof and wheel design fulfil most of what i would choose. More chrome maybe if available. Then it's down to the engine. I'd have to suck it and see. The "base" diesel I wouldn't be averse to, though may get frumpy looks and pay double to park. Yes, definitely need something to replace my ex - 94 Citroen ZX 1.4 Avantage that was finally euthanised 3 years ago! Nothing will ever come close 😭

My supermarket trolley also has rear wheel steer and it’s probably less likely to break than anything made by JLM.

Worth noting that independent air suspension had been on LRs since 2002! The adapting party is of course new.

My 2009 Tiguan has auto reverse parking. You have to control break and excelerate but tech very old now. Also teslas driving themselves full automate
