That's my baby!!!! Nice video! Oh that 35 is smashing! I own that lens for 30 years and honestly no lens has come close! Still there are some flaws visible in the exposure... for people who watched the zonesystem video you will probably see what I mean. I think I have to live quite a bit longer without my F2... 'cause the man himself is not done with her! Go Henk Go!
Thank you Hans! It is an honour to hold your baby! I am enjoying every moment. Yes, I have a rabbit hole here and there. Look forward to applying the zone system in the next video!
Nikon classical reflex cameras a world on their own. I love them. They produce distinct pictures and the ergonomics are superior. I agree fully. Greetings from Terrassa, Spain.
To pour some water in the wine: I had and used the 2/35 AIs for 15 and shot hundreds of rolls through it and I have to say it's a good lens but not one of Nikon's outstanding ones. After having used Summicron 2/35 ver. IV on the Leica M and a Distagon ZF 2/35 there simply was no going back. Nowadays I prefer the 2.8/28 mm AIs not only for its wider angle, which I also prefer these days, but also for its visibly crisper detail and higher resolution. That one should be on your list too. But I'm curious what you have to say about the 1.8/85 mm one of my favourites for rendition and character, though not being as perfectly corrected as the newer 1.4/85 mm AIs. 😊
My camera too. In fact, in my opinion, THE ONLY CAMERA. I have an F2 in black with the 50mm, f1.4; a 28mm, f2.8; a 105mm, f2.5 and a 200mm, f4. That's the only kit I need. Simply the best!
Very nice camera, and set of photographs. I have a Nikon F2 myself and love it. What is it about film that looks so good? I’m not trying to denounce your skilled eye, but I’d wager the same set of photos shot with digital and base ISO would look different and not have the same feel.
As usual, a great video. Also 27/36 good frames from a manual camera would, sadly, be almost impossible for new/inexperienced photographers today. Film is already expensive, but if you only get 5-10 good shots (or less) it is even MORE expensive.
Good evening, I am still here and will soon be back with a new video! My wife and I recently moved house and it has been a lot of work. Thank's for your patience!
I got one of these Nikon F2 cameras black body and it got the original motor Drive MD1 and the Nikon MB1 and the expousre meter DS1 head and it need to be fixed and I paid £10.00 for ALL OF THEM from a camera shop in London in 2023
The F2 is my daily carry usually with the Nikkor S 50mm 1.4, what a nice combination. I'm still stunned by the results.
It’s a special lens, my favourite also
Great video. Love that camera, your lucky to be able to borrow. Photos looking good , too. KB
Great video on a legendary camera ! Looking forward for the next videos ! :D
Thanks!
Beautiful beautiful camera. As an F3 shooter myself, I've always had an eye on F2 but never happened. Thanks for this great upload.

Een fantastische camera en foto’s, en ik heb weer genoten van je informatie en video!
Bedankt 🙏🏻
Dank je wel en graag gedaan Ruud!
I have a Nikon F2 with a F2AS viewfinder. I love my camera!!!
Beautiful lens!

Very nice video. I have the same lens. On my FM2, it's a great combination, one of my favourites. Perfect for color as well.
I have read that the viewfinders of the original "F", with a minor modification, can be mounted on an "F2" body.
like the B&W photos. Did you use any filters for the sky?
No, none at all.

I have the distagon zf 2/35 and I have to agree. That thing just blows other lenses out of the water. It’s massive and heavy but optically incredible.
Beautiful machine, I have 2, one black, one silver. Love the old pre-AI lenses. They have the scalloped Leica style focusing rings.

Great quality camera. Has proven It's metal by still being in demand in 2022. In the future there will not be 50 year old DSLRs in demand.
