I agree! My guy is barely a year and it the clippers don't freak him out, but he absolutely wants to play with them and look at them the entire time
@Pregg Pop that is the reason I started cutting my son's hair when he was able to sit up on his own. Getting him used to clippers has been very helpful

Omg thank you sooooo much for posting a realistic video of what a haircut with a baby/toddler is like. I’ve watched a bunch of them and the kids are like 4-5 and sitting perfectly still - not happening with a baby. My son is terrified of electric clippers, even very quiet ones. He’s 14 months old and has not had a haircut because of that. No salon for him due to COVID, so this mama has to try to cut his hair with scissors.

Thank you! Great tutorial. Clear instructions. I am Grateful you show a wiggly baby because I know mine will be too. I’ve seen a couple tutorials with babies sitting very still (pretty amazing). I know mine will move around. He is 20 months and haven’t had a haircut yet as I am dreading it. We cannot even clip his nails except perhaps one finger a day and still have to chase him to get it done. His hair is now a mess with funny long strands and his bangs are now going into his eyes. I am not sure I want to take him to a pro in these times so I might have to do it myself:(

Quand je coupais les cheveux j'avais toujours une vilaine démarcation entre les côtés et le haut (ça faisait un peu coupé au bol même en essayant de minimiser la chose). Hier je suis tombée sur votre vidéo et j'ai testé aujourd'hui. Mais c'est juste excellent, mon bébé est trop beau on dirait qu'il sort du coiffeur, j'ai même pu rattraper la coupe de cheveux de mon deuxième enfant. My older boys hair grew out in such an easy way that I didn’t want to do toddler haircuts. However, my current 16 month old has a full on yellow mullet! This tutorial is perfect for what I need to do! I know it’s older but THANK YOU! My little dude wouldn’t let me get near him with clippers!

Which sides do you cut what length? My kid has a little comb over too and I don’t want to cut too much on the wrong side
what comb/ scissors do you recommend that are 1) work well on baby/toddler hair 2) will last a long time? thank you for the great video!

I'm having such a hard time using the comb and then cutting. I'm so uncoordinated since I'm new to doing this and I keep having to set the comb down to be able to grab baby's hair...he also has really fine hair and not as much hair as your babe. I had a hard time using the hair as a guide because of all of the putting comb down, picking back up, etc. I think I'll have to retouch the top and right side when he wakes up from his nap but he was done and so was I, lol! We shall see! Youre video is the best I've seen for tutorial with shears. Thank you!

I've been imagine how i could cut my baby hair (1.1Y) for months because I don't want to use a clipper and I don't want to take him to Kid's Barber either because i saw babies are crying and it'll be a bad experience for my baby. Just gave my wiggly 1.5 year old his first haircut. I was really enjoying his mullet but it was time. It looks really great, maybe a little wonky on the final step of blending through the sides, but good enough I think I will just leave it for now.

I have a couple questions! Can I follow this but with dry hair? And also, my sons hair doesn’t usually style to the side, and is usually only in the front. Can I still follow this?

What scissors did you use? Brought some the other day and was a fail before we started lol.
For some reason the scissors weren't cutting at the end of the blade so obviously they where faulty.
Don't want to waste more money buying another bad pair. If you could recommend any that would be great

When you are doing the top of the head and you said you are pulling sections and keep pulling back so you can use the previous cut pieces as a guide, I can't ever see the previously cut pieces, as soon as I move over all the previously cut pieces blend in and it's wet so I can't see

A good simple to understand guide. I just gave my 10 month old a haircut. Waiting for it to dry to see how it turned out. He was super active and difficult so it did get a little messed up around his ears. But I hope it won't be very prominent.

This was the perfect video. I am going to be cutting my grandsons hair this week. I have 3 grown boys and cut their hair but for some reason I kind of felt unsure about giving my grand baby his first haircut. I used this tutorial for my baby boys first haircut. It came out so cute. I haven’t ever done this before and was very apprehensive. The results were very good. A little bit was left uneven as my baby was moving around like a worm. Overall a great video, with great results

I have a baby that has a long bang in front (shaped like a v) I would like it to go to the side. Would I cut at an angle or across like you did?

Gonna try this on my 5M old his hair, just a little trim. His hair is sometimes in his eyes and makes him itchy. Yes I tried to comb but babies will be babies
Ugh I did this and the hair on top of his head now looks choppy (like steps horizontally across the top of his head). Even tried using thinning shears to blend afterward but it didn't help much. Any tips on how to make this problem go away?
Can I do this on a 7 month old? Or should I wait till he’s 1 year old? My baby is VERY wriggly though 😌

I would recommend these amzn.to/3SVZROn they will last longer than a cheap pair and will stay sharp longer as well.

Depends if there are any cowlicks. So which way the hair prefers. If not, then just preference!

Well, I am 42 now, but I remember like it was yesterday my mom sitting me down and cutting my hair with sheers. It seemed like it took for ever. She did use the clippers when I got a bit older but yes….. I remember those days….. she would cut my hair using the sheers. Now,,,,, as an adult I do have a couple sets of sheers, and a mountain of clippers and trimmers. I do cut my own hair and I am totally blind. I find it very easy to do and it is like basically shaving. Having felt the way my mom cut my hair and yes. Having to go to the barber in my school days as well, I ot the feeling of how my mom, and the barber would cut my hair. Well, now I do it myself. It is super easy….. just like shaving but you are using a much bigger machine and the area is totally different. It’s not your face it is your head. And using the trimmer along side with the clipper it is just like using the clipper but on a very smaller scale. I absolutely love cutting my own hair because I don’t have to tell anyone how to cut it or when I want it cut.

This is so helpful! Question- How to do you gauge where to trim the back of the neck and around ears? Should the neckline be level with bottom of earlobe and the hair around the ears not touch the ear?
