Good vid very informative but I recon the problem is so your stuck with make to make it’s like with some parts on the early fords you could only get them from a ford garage companies are now using that same thing it’s in the control panel more than likely a resistance that the battery can’t sense so it shuts down,

That’s really annoying, thanks for letting us know…

@@thomaspaffett8303 Yeah I was very disappointed tbh. I guess I can understand the safety concern but you’d think that putting all of the monitoring and logic fully into the battery would make more sense, rather than relying on the tool and battery having to talk. Doing it this way makes it seem like they’re deliberately trying to stop people using adapters. Truthfully there shouldn’t even be manufacturer-specific platforms anymore, really. Should just be sharing designs.

@@JameysVideos I agree it would be nice to see a common plug set for batteries… would make much more sense for us but maybe not for people who want to tie us into a battery system like Gillette did for cartridge razors.

same problem with me, I failed to use 5ah dewalt powerstack battery with DM18M to Makita tools. Dm18M works with other dewalt XR batteries but not powerstack.

Sorry to hear that. It’s a real shame they couldn’t just put the protection logic totally in the battery and remove the need for it to “talk” to the tool.
