It's refreshing that this artist kept the song pretty true to it's form. While it's great when artists can have their own signature in tunes, some of the modern show-boating is just too much that and not enough true, heart-felt emotion. That said, very well done Dee Dee Warwick! Love it!
No one will ever top The King on this song but this is funky as all hell!
Dee Dee did it before Elvis. I think she did it better, nevertheless I like both.
She did and did it better, even though zI love Elvis version which is hers...big El was cool
King of What???
@@jayhendricks67😂
This is Dionne Warwick sister Dee Dee cousin to Whitney and Cissy Houstin...all them can sing
2:16 'let yoooouuu' is a lick that sounds like Dionne, Cissy and Whitney
Elvis' version will always be my favourite, but oh man, was this ever great!
The piano arpeggios add something neat in the chorus
Delia Juanita "Dee Dee" Warwick has had a very powerful voice and wonderful style.
This is one of the best versions - second only to Candi Station's; don't you agree?
She was nonetheless underrated, I think.
I still love Elvis' version the best, but this is really good too. Thanks for posting.
Aunt DeeDee sounding just like Aunt Cissy!!!
The fact that Vinyl was dropped by HBO will never not hurt..
Dope shit
Bravo! Elvis resting))
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought Dee version was the best
Vinyl
I cant find one song from vinyl, i believe it was episode 6 and was going like "oh, leave me alone you know"(guy enters stage and starts singing and gets interupted).
+Sabakinno That's "Sufragette City" by David Bowie.
It is from the Pilot episode
super version um im herbst cabrio durch den bunten blätterwald zu fahren .....

when did she record this song?
In the early 70s Dee Dee recorded it first, Elvis like others covered it. A lot of black artist songs was taken by others, and made money.
@@mississippigirl4193 actually the song was written by a white dude Mark James in 1968. Elvis covered it in 1969 and Dee Dee recorded the song in 1971.
@@hasanx4637 I'm going to have to look this up before I make a comment. But anyway it goes I like both. The first time I heard it was because of Dee Dee
@@mississippigirl4193 just because Elvis didn’t write his own music people have to stop accusing him of stealing. That’s revisionist history and not the truth. But some people, as is the case here, accuse without knowing shit. Oh by the way, Hound Dog was written by two Jewish white dudes from Brooklyn- he didn’t steal that either.
Its Waylon's song.
First :D
Way better voice than her sister.
