Lennon The Bunny when I got my bunnies fixed it went well but when they came home I felt so bad they were sitting like chickens they were in so much pain they couldn't sleep all the way I almost cried 😢
After my bun got fixed I got myself so worried that he was going to be in serious pain. And then he started doing binkies... which worried me even more. TOO MUCH MOVEMENT!!
I’m getting my bunny neutered next week I’m just so scared that he’s not going to wake up so I’ve been constantly praying that he wakes up healthy and happy 😢 guys he made it
Stephanie Adams it depends on the age and where you are located. it is easier for the operation to be done on younger rabbits under a year old because there are lower risks of death. i called around to a bunch of vets in my area to ask about the cost and appointments etc. jus try getting into contact with vets :) i hope this helps! it is super important to spay or neuter your bun for their own health and habits :)
Can you please make a video about common rabbit diseases? My rabbit has bladder sludge and I think it would be helpful for people to know what signs to look out for.
I have a video all about rabbit illnesses, signs & symptoms. Covers everything from head tilt to GI Stasis. Btw, 1 thing to prevent bladder sludge is to limit veggies high in calcium, feeding grass hays & Timothy based or grain free pellets.
I’m adopting a bun in about 2 weeks... here’s a cool video idea, have subscribers DM you pictures and videos of their rabbit xpen/nic enclosure!!! And you can critique and compliment them!!! I’m really looking on some help with my nic grid enclosure!!! Haha💖
We were so worried about taking our bun to get neutered. We actually put it off for weeks because we didn't want anything to happen to him. We finally gave in when he got to the point where he was constantly spraying, not using his litter box, & humping legs 😜. When the nurse called after the surgery to say everything went well I cried out loud (happy tears). He was pitiful for a few hours, but bounced back quickly! He seemed joyous afterwards (maybe not sexually frustrated anymore 😂) and he was immediately 100% potty trained. $400 for the procedure... but he's worth it ❤️
My vet charges $433 plus tax for a neuter (supposed to be less expensive), which sounds ridiculous to me. They don't even do a blood test. I scheduled the surgery for next week, but am calling around in the meantime lol.
CAMPMICKEY9 I’m getting my little girl spayed tomorrow. I really hope it makes her also 100% potty trained as her terrible habit of going everywhere is the only thing holding her back from being free roaming (she currently lives in an expen)
@@boobear9944 did you get your girl bunny spayed? If so was she ok afterwards, was she still nice and friendly with you after and not in pain? I know you are given pain killers for her but I find it hard to get mine to take anything from a syringe even if I put a bit of apple juice on it. Sometimes she will take it other times not when she has had to have antibiotics.
Ann Weston My bunny was pretty upset for a while after. Never knew an animal could hold such a grudge lol. after getting her spayed, she did start biting for a while which was a surprise as she had NEVER bitten anyone before. But after a while, she came back to her typical self. Medication was pretty terrible. My bunny is very very food driven so we used that to our advantage. We would put a treat right next to the syringe and squirt it in her mouth as she went to eat the treat. But sometimes, she was too clever for that and that’s when we had to result to holding her and force-medicating her which sucked to do and I felt very bad after but it had to be done.
I love Lennon's name and how her name is based off of John Lennon, one of the worlds greatest musical artist. John Lennon's nickname was actually Lenny, which is what Lorelei calls us. Its amazing and I love it.
I don't think John Lennon had a real nickname, he was just John to most people. He may have been called something like "Lenna" once in a while. In a recent interview, Paul McCartney explained the origin of his nickname Macca, and he said that it was a Liverpool thing. Take the first syllable of the last name and add an a. McCartney becomes Macca, Lennon becomes Lenna, Harrison Harra, etc. However, John Lennon was great at making up nicknames for himself, the craziest probably being "Dr. Winston O'Boogie". When he returned his MBE medal, he signed the accompanying note "John Lennon of Bag".
My female rabbit got spayed yesterday and didn’t use the bathroom in 24 hours (except urinating).. rushed to the vet this morning , they gave her a medicine under the form of a needle shot and she had her first bowel movement after ! I’m so happy. I keep a very close eye on her. She is eating well though !
I just had my bun neutered last week and I was so scared of him dying while in surgery.. but of course he came out of it just fine and is a very happy bunny again 8 days later
Weeks ago I was watching this vid and reading all the comments so scared about spaying my rabbit. I came back to say thank you. We did it last week and I'm writing this with my baby bunny sitting next to me , with her new big scar, recovering really well and fast.
I just wanted to say a few things, I actually am going to the Humane Society this week to get my rabbit neutered and since the place we got him didn't tell us age we think he is an average rabbit, probably no more than a few years and this video really helped. The second thing was that my friends friend who is 8 years old was going to get a rabbit for Easter and get one of those cages for him. I was like "nope", we sat down and discussed it and he said to help him one weekend and I changed his mind from a caged bunny to possible free roam bunny with proper diet. That's all I wanted to say have a great day!
Emily Ferro that is so amazing that they were receptive to your concerns and were willing to make changes to their bun's care. Some people just dont care which is really sad because the animal just suffers
Well I guess you just pray nothing goes wrong during a spay/neuter surgery but let’s all hope that everyone’s little fur baby, whether it be a bunny or a different pet all be safe and do amazing and are happy and healthy after surgery🙏🏻
my bunny just got spayed today! The vet just called and said hes just getting out of anestisia an I am so happy! So around 4:30 I'm picking him up. I also just want to say thankyou for all these great and inspiring videos that helped me to become a better rabbit mom!
I'd like to add that when a female 🐰 is spayed, her uterus is removed along with her ovaries! My vet let me see them after they were removed. I was extremely anxious that day. People were telling me I'm a bad mum for subjecting her to the surgery and the aftercare meds, so I came back here to remember why I did it and would do it again. Love you! xx
I agree: My male bunny's personality hasn't changed at all. He was about 6 years old when he got neutered but I also never had a problem with him. He wasn't very aggressive or marking his territory
@@pitstop6578 It's always dangerous because bunnies are so small and fragile. But Puschel had no problems at all. Actually, he was a bit calmer and confused the first few hours. But then he just was normal again. It always depends on your bunny. For example when I took him to the vet for his first time, his vet thought he's 1 or 2 🤣🤣🤣 But he was actually 6! He always stayed a child by heart I guess 😊❤ He's 9 now and really healthy and happy and active. Go ask your vet. I asked mine and it was completely ok. I don't see an issue.
@@veganhaltigig2703 i have yet to find a more ‘cooperated’ vet in my town, there are not much here sadly. Wow 9 yo and keep going strong. Anyway thank u so much
My bunny is 1 and she got neutered a week ago but her territorialness when she’s in her pen is just as bad and she won’t let me pet her as much, she runs away. She also won’t lay with me on my bed anymore :( why?
@@alanaseifert6235 I dunno but I have a 7 years old female that lives with me and my male bunny in my room as freeroamers. I had him since he was a baby but I got her 4 years ago. She still is extremely scared and and afraid of beeing touched. My male bunny on the other hand is much braver and really likes being pet by me. I'd say bunnies are like cats in a way: Sometimes they do, some times they don't like being pet/cuddle. Also some bunny love physical touch with their humans, others never will. Maybe give her some space. She's very young, going through a hormonal change now and also she's an prey animal. Let her come to you when she wants it. Maybe give her some treats to come to you or start target stick training with her. That helped us a lot! She's ways less scared now. Wish you the best ✌💕
Hii Lorelei and Lennon! I just wanted to tell you that in our country a "educational farm" was promoting a Easter activity in which they would give baby rabbits as prize raffle :( however, we started a campaign against this site and, after few hours, they apologized and cancelled the activity 😊🐰 thanks for give me courage and do the same as you did! We won!!!! Greetings from Chile 🐰
Today I found a man shooing a bunny out of a box, I went over to ask what he was doing. Long story made really short, I took the bunny home. I’ve already owned many bunnies and guinea piggies in my life. I had a large cage and all the supplies needed to care for him. I’ve named the bunny Dusty. I think he’s around one year old. He isn’t neutered. He is really friendly considering his circumstances. I think I will definitely neuter him but it’ll take me a while to save as this isn’t on it plan right now. I’m doing so so much research to learn again as it has been years since I’ve owned a bunny. Fingers crossed for me.
I have two bunny sisters and they started to fight so badly when they went through "puberty" I had to seperate them. I made sure they got spayed as soon as they were mature enough and it's made such a difference! They are now best friends again just like when they were babies and they love to snuggle up to each other and give lots of kisses
Thank you for this video! My bun had her spay today and I'm collecting her tomorrow afternoon. I was watching your first video on spay/neutering leading up to surgery day, it's been a God send! I made sure to find the only rabbit savvy vets in central London (which is crazy as this is a huge city). Felt great knowing she's with a rabbit specialist team and 24h care. One note is if your bun has to wear an Elizabethan collar is that you should hand feed them their cecotropes if they can't access them. Keep up the great content Lorelei! It's so rare to find a creator who creates as watchable and quality rabbit content as you and Lennon!
Tofu cost me about $300 for the spay, but it was worth every penny knowing all of the benefits and the vet was fantastic. It really does help with litter training, believe me!
Tori Morgan Music same! All of my buns are fixed and their behavior changed so drastically afterwards. My french lop used to be somewhat aggressive and would bite me when I fed him. After he was neutered he just turned into the sweetest puppy dog and just wants to cuddle and give kisses😊
I just had my second bunny fixed day before yesterday. She is doing great, eating well and acting almost normal already :) It cost a lot, 550€ (to compare my rent is 450€/month...), but the surgeon was the best one I could find so worth every penny.
My bunny's getting neutered today. I'll take the opportunity of having him gone all day to redo the packing tape on the baseboards and take my time getting it nice so it hardly shows up. I leaned that tip from your videos, and also learned free roaming is doable. I took Crescent in as a favor to a friend who couldn't keep him anymore, and he ended up getting rehomed to me. He's such a good bunny, but I didn't know anything about bunnies, and found out the advice I'd gotten for feeding and cages was off when I did more research, especially your videos. So thanks for all you do.
After my bunny got neutered he bounced back almost instantly, which was both a relief and a concern, because he kept trying to jump on my bed, despite me removing his little step. Once he even knocked over my bin, then while I was distracted cleaning up the mess, he leapt onto my bed! I was a nervous wreck during that entire week. Oh and I just want to point out that (at least in the UK, but I'm fairly sure it's the same around the world), spaying isn't just surgically removing the ovaries, the vet also removes the rabbit's entire uterus/womb, which makes it a lot more invasive, but also eliminates the risk of uterine cancer. It also minimises sexual, territorial and aggressive behaviour, because a lot of those hormones are produced in the womb, not just the ovaries.
@@MillieLouise-nv1fw Sorry for the late reply, I've been away for a week. I hope everything went well for your rabbit. It should normally be the same procedure everywhere, so the US videos should apply in the UK as well. For neutering male rabbits, it's simpler and less invasive, as the vet is just removing the testicles, so there's less chance of complications and recovery should be faster. For spaying female rabbits, as I said the vet removes the entire uterus, which is more taxing on the bunny, so she'd be much sorer and would need longer to recover. From what I've been told by vets, it's a very standard and straightforward procedure, and the greatest danger comes from the tiny chance that a rabbit reacts poorly to the anaesthetic and never wakes up. Once the surgery is done, so long as you give your rabbit its painkillers on time and make sure it doesn't strain itself, it should be fine.
I am so glad she said to get the older ones because sure on instagram they get you followers but the older ones are forever grateful to you also just as cute
We have a bonded male and female and when people meet them the first thing they ask is if we plan on breeding them. When we say they are spayed/neutered they tend to be surprised. Unfortunately not a lot of people know rabbits can be spayed and neutered. Thank you for getting the word out and providing information to help rabbit owners be better pet parents.
Sa Yeewen people get bunnies as pets for their children at Easter! Rabbits don’t like to be caged!!! It’s cruel!!! People need to research living with a bunny!!! It’s much different from a dog or a cat!!! Please do your research before buying a bunny!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheryl Love I have done soooo much research since last year and I may be getting a dwarf bunny. And get a giant cage where it will be when I’m sleeping (on school nights only bc I can stay awake and I will keep a eye on her) and when I am at school other then that when I’m home or not home for like a hour or 2 for sports or something she will be in a x pen in a bunny proof area. Also when I’m not there one of my sibling will most likely play with her. I just wanted to know bc I have asked a lot of people and only one person answer me so🤞 you will reply. And sry that was so long😂❤️
Kolby Arnold don’t get the bunny cages at the pet store... they can hurt their little feet jumping into the cage. Watch Lorelei’s video on cages... very informative xo
I live in a rural area, specifically a farming area and it took me 16 calls to find a vet who even seen rabbits. I had to go somewhere 45 minutes away but it was completely worth every minute and all the money.
Chyanne Marie same I live in a little town and it cost $350 and an hour long car ride to get her spayed(actually as I am typing this she is having her procedure)
I am soooo happy I got bowie neutered at 4 months. he has perfect litter habits, and he’s such a sweetie at 8 months. I would have never of known if I didn’t watch your litter training video when I did 😂😉
I just got my 5 year old Netherland dwarf male neutered and it went perfect! I followed your after care video and it helped a lot! I made sure to give him access to hay, pellets, his favorite veggies, and treats by putting them in his carrier. I bought a collapsible play pen for him and I had him recover in there for a few days, BUT he absolutely hated being in there so much he started to chew a hole in the play pen! So I ditched the play pen and let him free roam like usual and he was a lot happier but still a little annoyed by everything being different from what he was used to. (As he was exploring the room he was thumping to express his annoyance lol) His litter box habits are getting better, im seeing less and less territorial poops around so I truly think the surgery was worth it! I got it done at my local shelter’s spay and neuter clinic. Luckily, I also work at my animal shelter so I was able to talk to our vet personally before I scheduled the surgery to rule out any of my concerns of him being too old or too small for surgery. (He’s 2 pounds)
my first bunny-a rescue female velvetine rex, who was in the shelter for 14 months from the age of about 1 yr- immediately developed mastitis , but thanks to her young age was an excellent candidate for spaying, which ended the mastitis. she went on to enjoy many years as a free range house bunny. Lenin reminds me so much of my little sweetie Velvet . Bless these adorable souls.
so glad you made this video! based on your advice i recently got my bunny fixed. from this experience we found out that our 1 year old bunny, emelia, was actually a boy and not a girl! after his neuter we noticed how he stopped pooping everywhere and how he loved cuddling more than ever. we cannot thank you enough❤️❤️
My bun Milo got neutered today and it was almost $600 dollars. It was a package including a physical exam, fecal testing, complete blood testing, medication, and obviously the neuter which by itself was about $350.
Thank you!!! Long story short our rabbit was in a cage with 5 other rabbits ( meat ) and I felt horrible so I took him and he’s been such a lover even as an adult but after watching your videos I learned about spay and neuter so we have an appt on April 10th and I am so nervous about him being put under for neuter because he’s such an amazing guy! Thank god He’s not too old ( 6 months old) thank you again for all this info and thank you for being so sweet and uploading so that my unexpected rabbit pal has had the best life yet! ❤️
I’m following you on Amino! Also thanks for liking my bunny room! Oh my gosh!!!! Thank you soooo much! When I saw it I was like “oh my goodness! She likes my post!” Also, thank you for making this video, I got my male neutered and he is so much better with spraying!
This video brought back memories when I got my two done. My male bounced back so fast, but my female it took so long. She got really unwell with it, she wouldn’t eat or drink. We was back at the vets everyday with for 3/4 days. I had to syringe feed her every hour, I slept at the bottom of her pen at night and set alarms just to check on her and sort her out. I thought the worst, constantly crying thinking she wouldn’t make it. But now nearly two years on she’s as happy as ever and bonded with her brother. I would 100% recommend spay and neutering, but would definitely do loads of research and make sure you get the right vets. My vets are absolutely amazing and they constantly reassured me that she will be fine, they looked after her so well and got her in to be seen straight away
Yo, this was a really nice surprising upload. I’ve been meaning to get mine fixed for a few months now. But yeah, all those things have delayed the process. Like what the cost would be and trying to find one that’s done enough bunny surgeries. 😅😅 so this was really nice to see, thank you so much!!
Me and my friend saw your Easter bunny video and so we emailed our class about it and everyone was talking about how they think it’s horrible and how they will spread the word and our friend even said that she will make a RUclips video talking about how you shouldn’t support it. It’s amazing how far a RUclips video can go.
Thank you so much for making videos like these. I started watching right before getting the bunny I was going to show for FFA (not to sell, just to show). If I hadn't of stumbled across your channel, Rosie would be outside in a hutch eating nothing but pellets. (The breeder told me specifically that hay was unnecessary and greens were unhealthy. Not the best breeder to say the least... He also sold her to me at only 4 weeks, which is another horrible thing) Now, Rosie's spoiled rotten, eats a very healthy diet (perhaps with the exception of I give her a few too many treats), and lives indoors (free roaming is a WIP, but it'll definitely happen soon).
That Person Over There I have found many breeders that still think veggies cause gas & stasis. This is definitely not true if your feeding your bunny properly.
Hii. I really want to get my female rabbit spayed. She’s currently around seven months old. She is bonded with and older neutered rescue rabbit so and I really wanted to get her fixed. This was very helpful and I am hoping to get her to the vet to get her spayed within the next few months. My parents are open to it but it’s still a lot of money so I’m going to pay for it myself, this video helped out a lot and helped me get over that fear.
I asked the vet what their success rate was for neutering male bunnies before his procedure. I was like *whats your success rate in neutering bunnies* and she was like *wha?* and I was like... *how many have died* and she’s like *died?? For a neuter on a rabbit?? Oh god no, it’s safe, I’ve worked here for 15 years and we fix rabbits on the daily and none have died during a neuter procedure* IT MADE ME SO HAPPY TO HEAR THIS NEWS!!!
We got my little bunny from a shelter, and so she was already spayed. However I’m so glad that I got her from the shelter, when we first got her she drank a lot of water, and loved her hay. She was so happy to have space to run around
I love you and Lennon so much and you helped me learn about bunny's and made me want one and you give me so much information about bunny's so I can get one when I am ready love you all so much 💕❤️💪🏾😍
Just got my first bunny a few days ago as an ESA and I love her so much and want her to be healthy as much as possible and love as long as she can. Tysm for all this info! 💜
Im so glad we got our bunny neutered. He was fine when we first got him but very suddenly he turned very aggressive, biting people and trying to hump anyone he could! Thank god we dont have another rabbit that would have had to endure that. After he got neutered it was a miracle how quickly he stopped being so aggressive. Thank you for this video, even if your bunny isnt as aggressive as mine was its still very important to get them spayed/neutered!
Just had my buns spayed and neutered. Will be bonding soon to free roam them in a bedroom. Excited. I also just watched a youtuber named happy tails who is totally against the surgery. Could be an interesting reaction video lol. Love your videos. I actually just bought a shirt from your shop. Patiently waiting for it. Thanks for all the info you give. Your about the only one I trust giving info on rabbit care ❤
I called my vet like twenty times he knows my voice lol 😂 and they won’t neuter my bunny right now because the corona virus so he’s feeling a bit hormonal I’m like on the top of the list of every vet that’s around me lol 😂
Just got my rabbit spayed a couple days ago, she’s 11 months!! Learned everything through this channel, from the first day I got my rabbit ive been watching all the videos so I know how to properly care for my rabbit, I love these videos it really teaches me so much more then I have ever known!!💗
TAKE THAT HAPPY TAILS!! Seriously though thank you for coming out with this video, so many people are misinformed and a detailed video like this one what they need. 😌
i would love to tell you that you have educated me so much in the bunny world. i actually started watching before i adopted my bunny, (which i was going to get one from the pet store before i watched your channel) but instead i looked into adopting one. but i feel very confident that i’m a good rabbit mom and now i have my second bunny, waiting to bond them because i’m waiting until i spay and neuter them. but i just wanted to let you know that mostly everything i’ve done with my first rabbit came from your videos and he is a very sweet bunny and he is also free roam and litter box trained. i’m very happy i found your channel
My House Rabbit Society chapter already spays and neuters the rabbits before adoption❤️thank you for making this video. There will never be too much information that you can put out.
Thankyou so much I was going too ask my vet the next visit about getting Poppy spayed and if it was better for her health but now I don't have to I can make in all in the appointment, thankyou again for another wonderful video being my only bunny I was confused about spaying but now after watching this I understand exactly what is Best for Poppy 🏵️ 🙏😊💚
My bunny got spayed yesterday. For some reason, she is actually really active. And I feel bad because all she wants is me in the pen with her which is cute but I also want to give her alone time. She is pooping A LOT and she is eating sand she doesn't mind her medicine, which is good. I also go to a rabbit savvy vet which is good. Thanks for all the help!
Hello! You have been so helpful as we adopted a bunny recently and have him free roaming! I never thought I would even have him inside, but you are empowering us! Also, your video intros are so peaceful and calming!
Yes!! Spaying and Neutering is wonderful! Unfortunately I got my boy Thumper when he was 6 (he's almost 8 now), so he will never be neutered due to old age and the health risks that come with fixing old buns :p
Thank you Lorelei for all you rabbit savy vids, i always come on here to look up advise and recommend your vids to ppl who want a bunny i also let them knw to do their research first
Ha! 200 dollars for a neuter? Not in the middle of Illinois! You either get to pay 400 dollars for a local vet or drive 5 hours north to Chicago. I understand that it's a "specialized" vet but I don't even get how they can charge 200, it's a pair of tesiticals they can't be that much different then any other pair. But I really recommend doing research before even getting a rabbit cause that 60% reproductive cancer is real it's what took my bunny. I'm sure if you went to a rabbit rescue they rabbit would already be spayed or neutered.
Go fix yourself if you worry about cancer, TADA. anyways I’m not getting mine fixed until somebody invents a vaccine for it. Notify me when somebody does..
Thank you so much for making this channel, you are so helpful and I’m just so thankful that I have this channel to go to whenever I’m confused 💗💗💗 THANK YOU!
Definitely another great reason to adopt; that's one thing I didn't have to worry about with Luna! You are so right about the networking part too; the people at Friends of Rabbits (where I adopted Luna) have been incredibly supportive throughout the duration of her health issues.
My bunny Ebony (2 yrs old) Got spayed today and...she made it! I just got her home a bit ago and she is doing great! If your bunny is on the older side don’t be too concerned bunnies don’t have a high chance of death when under anaesthetic
I had recently gotten two young bunnies and am currently doing research into what care is needed for spays/neuters. Long time fan, thank you for the info!!!
I am so nervous for this, my rabbits are ny life and I just keep thinking "what if they don't wake up 😔" I don't think I'd be able to deal with it if they died during surgery. I don't know many people where I'm from that has dpayed their rabbits and I don't know if actually any of the vets are experienced enough to work with rabbits. So This is gonna be a a stressfull procedure but as soon as this Corona virus has passed I'm going to take a risk but until then I am going to do more research on where the best vets in my area are
My bunny’s (bunzilla a 10 month old mini lop) neuters experience was really positive. I got him neutered at 5 months, when his honking got aggressive and frequent. I live in the SF Bay Area and I drove 2 hours each way for the right vet. I called rabbits rescues asking for recommendations and found a vet that charged $170 compared to $780 near my house. They treated my bunny so well. He was a little tired for the first night but by day 5 he was happy and normal. I did not need pain meds. He was 5 months old when we went to his operation.
I might be getting a bunny in 3 days and I used your videos as reference to send my mom to let her know that I know how to take care of a beautiful bby bun. Thank you so much for helping me! Buns help my anxiety so so SO much! 💖🐇
I just want to say that I really love this channel and Lennon is so cute! Your videos are so helpful and they have helped me have a stronger bond with my rabbit. Also I got the same stroller as you and I love it! It’s so adorable pushing my rabbit around and I’m pretty sure she likes it to :) she comes to the front and sticks her little head out and looks around ❤️ her name is Molly❤️💕❤️💕
I used to have so many rabbits but due to sudden deaths my parents no longer want me to have anymore. I hope I can prove to them I can do a better job now. I’ve been doing countless research and your videos are really helpful
Good advice by your parents. Take on only what you can handle. One rabbit or a neutered/bonded bonded pair would be much better to start with. Rabbits are a huge responsibility which people often underestimate.
It’s probably not true but it says I’m the first like!!♥️♥️ I love your videos and Lennon is so cute!! I’m getting my bunny Luna spayed soon so this video will be really helpful thank you!!♥️
@@denesathompson4500 yep, i shortened it because its a pain for people to spell. It was a nightmare in school. I have only met 1 other of us in 52 years.
@@denesathompson4500 It is an honor to meet you as well. Our name is very rare! I am so excited meeting you. I met 1 lady 15 yrs ago in Alabama that shares our name. There are several variations of the sounding. Mine is pronounced with 2 long "e" 's (dee-nee-suh). How is your's pronounced? My family/ friends call me Nesa (nee-suh). But work and other is shortened to dee.
I’m getting my baby neutered in May, I booked the appointment in January because this cool vet here spays and neutered only 2 rabbits every Tuesday for $50. He has really good rating and it’s pretty awesome he does this. ♥️ I live in Vegas
My rabbit Storm used to bite me all the time, he used to flick his front feet at me, he used to chew on my trim, and he used to pee on *everything*. Now, he only pees in his litterbox, he doesn't leave as many territorial poops, he chews less, and he doesn't attack me as much. Getting him neutered was the best big purchase I've ever made. He loves to be pet, and he seems so much happier now. Getting your rabbit fixed is very important.
Some great advice here. It was created two years ago so I would like to add that the fees have greatly increased. I had my Twinkle fixed yesterday in a fairly rural area and it was 500 dollars. I might add that this included a full lab work-up as well. It was quick and she didn't seem out of it when I scooped her, however, in a couple minutes I'm headed to mix up some critical care because she has stopped eating. Good luck every-bunny!
Thankyou Lorelei!! This was super super informative ^ Time to get my buns neutered! - I have two netherland dwarfs, both males, one older and younger i bonded them together and luckily theyre so loving toward eachother cleaning and cuddling up to one another i love that they have each other ^^ _______ I had no idea that neutering/ spaying would help prolong their lives Hopefully all goes well 🙏 will make sure to be there for them as they recover! Sending much love to both you and Miss Lennon you guys are amazing 😊 Thankyou again! Salamat!
When I got my rabbit neutered I didn’t give him his pellets or veggies in the morning but I did give them To him that night and the night before . Of coarse he had unlimited hay and water though!
Just rescued a little black bunny my neighbors had released about 2 months ago... I named her Ralphie before the vet told me she was a girl, also that she is healthy and surprisingly social! These videos are helping so much in my new life as a bunny lady. :)

Yay! Congrats :))
oh great
About how much does it cost to get it done for the bunny?
Stephanie Adams it depends on the age and where you are located. it is easier for the operation to be done on younger rabbits under a year old because there are lower risks of death. i called around to a bunch of vets in my area to ask about the cost and appointments etc. jus try getting into contact with vets :) i hope this helps! it is super important to spay or neuter your bun for their own health and habits :)
Stephanie Adams about 100 - 300 depending on where you live
Can you please make a video about common rabbit diseases? My rabbit has bladder sludge and I think it would be helpful for people to know what signs to look out for.
Great idea!
Yes that's a very very good idea
I have a video all about rabbit illnesses, signs & symptoms. Covers everything from head tilt to GI Stasis. Btw, 1 thing to prevent bladder sludge is to limit veggies high in calcium, feeding grass hays & Timothy based or grain free pellets.
I took my bunny to get spayed today. Found out she is actually a he.
Oh no! 😆

This is a really coool idea!
Awesome idea !!!
Yaaasss
Omg I was going to suggest this!! We all want to know what were doing right and wrong, I'd love to do this.
i’m getting one in a couple days! 😫
$400 for the procedure... but he's worth it ❤️
400$???? For my hollandlop Pedro it was only 160$?
My vet charges $433 plus tax for a neuter (supposed to be less expensive), which sounds ridiculous to me. They don't even do a blood test. I scheduled the surgery for next week, but am calling around in the meantime lol.
CAMPMICKEY9
I’m getting my little girl spayed tomorrow.
Ann Weston
My bunny was pretty upset for a while after.
@@DellaStreet123 Ah, I saw that video where Paul McCartney explained it. I may or may have not remembered it wrong, but thanks for telling me. ^^💗
john lennon was a piece of shit lmao

My female rabbit got spayed yesterday and didn’t use the bathroom in 24 hours (except urinating).. rushed to the vet this morning , they gave her a medicine under the form of a needle shot and she had her first bowel movement after ! I’m so happy. I keep a very close eye on her. She is eating well though !
I just had my bun neutered last week and I was so scared of him dying while in surgery.. but of course he came out of it just fine and is a very happy bunny again 8 days later
Same I fear tgat
That’s awesome! Good job!!!
I love the "hey every bunny" it's so cute!!😚
I'm spaying my bunny next week. Very helpful, thanks xxx

Is it safe to do that ? mine is 4 y/o buck. I really worry

Fingers crossed for me.
hows he doing ?!
I have two bunny sisters and they started to fight so badly when they went through "puberty" I had to seperate them. I made sure they got spayed as soon as they were mature enough and it's made such a difference! They are now best friends again just like when they were babies and they love to snuggle up to each other and give lots of kisses
My *female* bunny is humping, marking her territory, circling, biting, ect... she is usually super sweet and gentle and I am freaked out now 😖
Hannah are u sure it’s a girl?
its probably a male...
No she is definitely a girl

I wish it was that cheap for me
I agree! I paid $350 and it was 100% worth it. And great vets.
Awww you called her tofu 😂 I love tofu
Not doing it until there’s a vaccine for it. Honestly there are many risks that can go wrong, like forgetting to have them sleep, etc
I just had my second bunny fixed day before yesterday. She is doing great, eating well and acting almost normal already :) It cost a lot, 550€ (to compare my rent is 450€/month...), but the surgeon was the best one I could find so worth every penny.
Mandi Salmela woah, the doctor im getting my bun spayed asked for 130€. why so expensive?
The vet asked me 85€
My bunny is getting spayed and it's like €103 euros
I’m getting my rabbit done today in the uk . Did it all go well because half the videos I’m seeing are from the USA so I’m not sure if it’s the same.
I didn’t even get a RUclips notification for this video. This is such an amazing video and I’m pretty mad I couldn’t see it as soon as it was uploaded
It’s so wonderful that you make educational videos like this! Spaying and neutering is so important! 🐰💖

And get a giant cage where it will be when I’m sleeping (on school nights only bc I can stay awake and I will keep a eye on her) and when I am at school other then that when I’m home or not home for like a hour or 2 for sports or something she will be in a x pen in a bunny proof area.

My rabbit was neutered and microchipped when I adopted him from the rescue which was great. Their vet is wonderful so I lucked out there too!

He also sold her to me at only 4 weeks, which is another horrible thing)
Now, Rosie's spoiled rotten, eats a very healthy diet (perhaps with the exception of I give her a few too many treats), and lives indoors (free roaming is a WIP, but it'll definitely happen soon).
That Person Over There I have found many breeders that still think veggies cause gas & stasis. This is definitely not true if your feeding your bunny properly.
Is she free roam now?
Hii. I really want to get my female rabbit spayed. She’s currently around seven months old. She is bonded with and older neutered rescue rabbit so
and I really wanted to get her fixed.
Oh god no, it’s safe, I’ve worked here for 15 years and we fix rabbits on the daily and none have died during a neuter procedure*
IT MADE ME SO HAPPY TO HEAR THIS NEWS!!!

@@emilyplaysgamesstuwe5801 who peed in your cheerios? You must be real fun at parties.
lol in a month we have to pay 1000 each at the least to spay my two bunnies
Thank you so much for making this channel, you are so helpful and I’m just so thankful that I have this channel to go to whenever I’m confused 💗💗💗 THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for making this video I'm going to be getting my rabbit neutered soon this video was so helpful! ❤☺
Definitely another great reason to adopt; that's one thing I didn't have to worry about with Luna! You are so right about the networking part too; the people at Friends of Rabbits (where I adopted Luna) have been incredibly supportive throughout the duration of her health issues.
I got my bunnies from someone who took really bad care of them they fed them any left overs they had they live out side my bunnies are so happy now :D
Thank u so much makes me happy ❤️ wish there was more people like u
ah,a roblox tuberr :))
I’m getting a bunny this weekend and your videos are so helpful! I can’t wait!
My bunny Ebony (2 yrs old)
Got spayed today and...she made it!
I just got her home a bit ago and she is doing great!
If your bunny is on the older side don’t be too concerned bunnies don’t have a high chance of death when under anaesthetic
Thank you ! That set my mind at ease
So should I wait till she older
@@bombchellez_24kt54 reccomend 6 or more months old before you get them spayed
I always preferred Netherlands Dwarf Rabbit boy's as they had attitude but became very loving&bonded with me.
Love you ❤❤❤ you help me learn ALOT about bunnies

Your so fricken pretty! I HAVE BEEN WATCHING U FOREVER!! LOTS OF LOVE❤❤
I might be getting a bunny in 3 days and I used your videos as reference to send my mom to let her know that I know how to take care of a beautiful bby bun. Thank you so much for helping me! Buns help my anxiety so so SO much! 💖🐇
DJ Boggs are you only getting one? They should never be alone 🙈
I’m getting my bunny Luna spayed soon so this video will be really helpful thank you!!♥️
Heyyyy, we share the same name!!! So few of us!
Dee Mueller your name is denesa?
@@denesathompson4500 yep, i shortened it because its a pain for people to spell. It was a nightmare in school. I have only met 1 other of us in 52 years.
Dee Mueller sorry for such a late response but I have never met anyone with the same name as me!! This is so cool😂
My rabbits Brian and Trevor were neutered today, they’ve been recovering quite well. They should be up and binking soon!
Kind of a weird looking thumbnail... but very informative. Great video. ♡
Good luck every-bunny!
i recommend adopting for the reason that they already spay/neuter rabbits prior to adoption
So glad we got our bunnies neutered and spayed. They did fine. Just watched them closely. Thank you Dr. Cox, DVM.
I’ve got 3 rabbits and one is really small!, I’m planning on getting them spayed so they won’t fight when I put them in the same place.
are they all boys because your no soposto put them together when they are boys
@@bradpehrson8553 neutered males can be buddies.
Thankyou Lorelei!! This was super super informative ^ Time to get my buns neutered!

I have two netherland dwarfs, both males, one older and younger i bonded them together and luckily theyre so loving toward eachother cleaning and cuddling up to one another i love that they have each other ^^
_______
I had no idea that neutering/ spaying would help prolong their lives
Hopefully all goes well 🙏 will make sure to be there for them as they recover!
Sending much love to both you and Miss Lennon you guys are amazing 😊
Thankyou again! Salamat!
When I got my rabbit neutered I didn’t give him his pellets or veggies in the morning but I did give them
To him that night and the night before .
