    Learn how to save 100+ hours per month even if you've never used Zapier before in my course at jimmyrose.me/zapier-mastery/

    Wow. I didn't realize dictation in windows worked like that. I typed this comment with dictation. Huge thanks.

    I use the voice typing on my phone more than I type especially when texting. (iPhone). I started using dictation on my iMac when I had shoulder surgery last year and my dominant hand was strapped to my chest. What a life saver. I still use it to this day.

      Can you please share which tools apps programs you use? I have an iPhone and want to start writing stories again and don’t want to sit and type. I’d love to be able to go for a walk and dictate my stories into my phone.

    In case anyone is not aware, if you want to do type for longer on iPhone you can activate voice control (via siri or settings); then you can just speak for as long as you want without having to presd the mic button. It's worked well for me and I was hoping, apparently in vain, for the same when switching to Android.

    I myself always used voice typing because it's very easy and convenient.
    But for me the biggest problem is that I cannot use this application when I am or in some another app

    • @_jimmyrose

      No worries. On Android it's built into the keyboard so you should be able to use it in any app

    I've been wondering if there's a voice typing application that works when I want to transcript something out of podcasts. My set-up is i use a multi window feature. One for the application that i'm listening to that is the podcast and one for the note taking app. It would be a great help if there is a voice typing that could type/transcript while my podcast is playing.
    I've been looking at it but found nothing til now. I want to make notes of out every word of what they said (podcast) but it's tiring to do it manually (hehe). Pls let me know or make a content out of it if there is sir

    Please help, what command would activate voice typing for Android on a Bluetooth keyboard? Using gboard preferably.

    • @_jimmyrose
      @_jimmyrose  3 года назад

      Not sure there is one. For voice typing to work it has to know where the text will go. That requires a manual press on the screen to open a text area

    I loved this video. Can you use dictation while on normal websites on a Windows laptop that would be used for work purposes, or even not for work like FB? I wasn't sure if it was just in typing programs.

    I use a note 10 plus for business and pleasure and I absolutely love it plus I have the Office 365 and I seemed very comfortable using the SwiftKey for typing and voice typing, for some unknown reason the voice typing for swift key has been very poor as I was forced to use the gboard for better voice typing, and it sucks because I have all my shortcuts on SwiftKey, not sure if by any chance I can utilize SwiftKey voice typing without the Google voice typing, I tried to disable Google voice typing and when I talk into SwiftKey the words do not come out unfortunately, not sure if you have any solutions, thank you and good luck!

    • @_jimmyrose
      @_jimmyrose  3 года назад +1

      Hmm, I've used SwiftKey for a LONG time. The voice typing button opens Google voice - so the accuracy should be the same.
      I noticed once that I had to force the language & region in the Google App to Australia so it would recognise my accept better. Maybe you could try region settings as well

    Hi. Do you maybe know any alternatives to SwiftKey? They use Google speech recognition which is pre-programmed to diminish the processing power per user dependent on the amount of usage. In other words it becomes quite bad when you use it too often. do you know any alternatives? Something for Android that I can use in any software? It doesn't have to be free at all, I'm okay with paying for it. Thanks

    I don't voice type for productivity. I voice type because my hands are so disabled that I can't use them to type on my phone. Right now I have a blu g90 pro and it is the worst speech to text phone I have ever used! My cheap LG did a better job!

    • @_jimmyrose
      @_jimmyrose  3 года назад

      Sorry to hear that. What a bummer about the blu. Maybe it has a bad microphone, because the underlying typing should still be processed by the same Google tech. It might be worth checking out your region settings - I've found that if it's wrong, it can be looking for the wrong accent and it really messes up the typing
