The "speed" test. i had the same. I think that Starlink Speed Test goes from you --> satelite--> closest Starlink ground station. online tests go from you --> satelite --> closest Starlink ground station --> (few servers inbetween) --> destination servrs. that extra hops drop the speed a bit too much. Still, Starlink shows me 280mbps down, while regular testing shows me in the 100-150mpbs range (depending on the server it selects). Including active downlaods from Steam peeking over 200mbps. So dont' worry about the differences. i'm still more then happy with Starlink, as the nxt option i have is 50mbp down / 8 mpbs up over the air...
That would make sense 👍 have you kept your box at all? I looked at the serial number the other day on mine, it appears I might have one of the first 100,000 dishes 🤔
I apricate you actually shared the dislikes. And fully agree, no humor. (or they are annoyed that you got yours and they are still waiting for theirs :) )
Thank you for this, I like the shovel best. If this is networked, does anyone know what mesh or boosters should work with it to get coverage around the house? I currently use a 4g router/aerial and BT discs. Subbed!
Maybe in a couple of years I'll have them answers you're looking for 😂 I'm planning on using a booster to get the signal to a summer house in the middle of the field and will be using a mesh inside the house. Haven't got to that point yet so haven't done any research 😬
Would the overhead power cable nearby count as an 'obstruction'?...the high voltage cable will have a magnetic field around it. Will be interesting to see what happens when/if you relocate it. PS That is the smallest shovel I have ever seen.
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I think what he is trying to say is - Reset your Starlink router back to Factory defaults, then power it back up again. That'll then get the latest updates from Starlink that they are rolling out continuously. (Apparently on the Gen 1 which you have, there is a factory default button on the bottom of the router somewhere). Saw it on another youtube video...
It's worth it for me yes. To get fibre here it was could over £20k. I was told by my neighbour that broadband through the telephone lines here is seriously poor, plus I can't get connected to that until I've finished the house. The next alternative is mobile broadband for £50 a month with EE, but I haven't found their signal to be that great where I am. The starlink is £89 a month, with no limits and high speeds. We will save money from what we have in London (once we cancel that) and I can lower the cost of my mobile data plan too.
I don't want to put holes in my container, especially as it's not in its final position. Once I finish building the house I can figure out where I want to put it 🤔
@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I would bolt it to a wooden pallet and then weight the pallet down. Seems like it might be a bit better than trying to weight the small legs of the provided tripod.
To clarify, the dish only ended up with a small scuff on one edge. Looking at the weather reports, I think it was upside down for about 5 days 🤦♂️

Can I ask if you use starlink for games? I currently use 4g and it's pretty good but the only limitation is the latencies aren't great.
Great video 👍
And now I’m back here to watch the video 😉😉
Fair enough 👍

New sub mate. Love your channel 👍
Thanks dude 👍

I had a Google search and apparently it doesn't 🤷♂️
Love bro from Pakistan
Would the strength of the internet thorough this be good enough to game with?
I would imagine so, but if it's competitive stuff against players with fiber you might be at a disadvantage
I think you should turn off your phone data whilst doing the test, use WiFi. I think your app is using your GSM network to calculate your line speed.
Also you look like your in a 5g area. That may give you the best data rate? Not sure if they do 5g GSM routers yet?
No 5g round here, 4g is kinda OK...ish. I tried turning off mobile data and tested again but it made no difference 🤷♂️
That make perfect sense... you have shirty/not updated router.
I don't understand what you are saying? The router is the one from starlink and my phone gets its WiFi through the router

The router and your phone don't do speed tests at the exact same time that's why one is higher then the other,
