    Mad how Dunphy talked about Keanes header against Juve being a surprise, at Forest Keane was the best header of a ball and Cloughie remarked on it many times. His goal at White Hart Lane for Forest in the League Cup Quarters was a fine example of it, severely underrated attribute he had.

      Dunphy knows football from reading about it and listening to other peoples opinions' .
      I.e....he doesn't really know a lot about football from a fans point of view

    “In order to succeed your desire for success should be greater than your fear for failure."...imo roy keane is a footballing legend who dominated and lead manchester utd to become one of the biggest clubs in the world he deserves respect for all he achieved in his career full stop anything outside of that should not stain the man the warrior the leader he was.

    Keane was a leader, unselfish, Ferguson exploited the man then ruthlessly dismissed him. Keane called it straight and that is what society does not want to hear, he was right about Stones defending for Man City and England

      Fregie was wrong the way he removed him but how do you remove strong heads that pass their best
      And Ferguson was use to removing people he didn't need any more as with all good mangers Stein threw Jimmy Johnson out john Hughes never forgive him for being dumped . I haven't seen a good manger that was ever worried about dumping players.

    Yes people talk about Roy Keane's Champion's League semi final against Juventus but people forget to talk about the players in the Juventus midfield.
    Deschamps, Di Livio, Conte, Zidane, Davids
    Keane is definitely not just great but one of the best of his time.

      I watched the full match recently... since the original. It was unbelievable, you can literally see Keane going the through the gears when 2:nil, and increasing the pace, effort and drive of the rest of the team. He must have been absolutely knackered after that match.

    Giles trying to underplay Keane's ability and effect on matches. Utd during that period had a 10% higher win rate with Keane in the team than without him.

    • @walshknwsbest
      @walshknwsbest 4 года назад +2

      Found that so frustrating with Giles on Keane , he thinks Keane captained and led that man united team from the midfield rated one of the best midfielders ever in the premier league with his main attribute being his attitude 🤦🏻‍♂️ he couldn’t even say that he had the ability to dictate a game ? He talks about him like he did was rant and rave on the pitch - he wasn’t Vinnie Jones ffs

    • @mm91ie
      @mm91ie 4 года назад +1

      @@walshknwsbest Keane possessed good all-round ability allied to his incredible drive and inspirational leadership. He was much more than a hard man and his attitude whilst exceptional was not his main attribute. He read the game superbly and was a superb passer of the ball, only Zidane had a higher pass completion rate in Europe according to Opta stats from the time. He could control and dictate a game as former UTD players have stated. Rooney said he was the passer of a ball he played with and Fletcher said he had a fantastic first touch.

    All due respect John.. You're talking bollox.. Keanes greatest attribute was managing a game on the pitch.

    • @wolftone6
      @wolftone6 5 лет назад +5

      So true. Giles and Co constantly talk down Keane's skill level. Never fancy but always made a decent pass. And controlled the tempo of a game.

  • @arnie8604

    Truth is Keane was a far better prospect at Forest ... Utd stifled him, Alex played him as a holding midfielder because he had Bryan Robson making runs from midfield .... Clough played him perfectly in making those runs from midfield .... Keane scored some great goals for Forest.

      Brian clough Bobby Robson Alf Ramsey were great players and mangers in England that it
      The rest of great players were RUBBISH mangers
      Great mangers Stein who was rated the best by Ferguson hugh mcewinne
      Was RUBBISH footballer as was Ferguson' shankly so the chance of roy keane being a good manager is very little look at maradonna the greatest footballer (and please don't compare Messi with him Messi is a forward but maradonna was a out and out footballer a street footballer) who couldn't manage to save his life
