A tribal scoring a 300/800 (ST loaded fam) in CUET got in a top tier college in DU while my brother, who scored a 690/800 barely got in a good college in DU. How in the world is this fair? Reservation needs to go.

It's fair to say govt should pay attention which it is already paying. But should the Modi govt stop 'enjoying' all other 'work' and just focus on Manipur alone? Is that how you run a country? Thanks for covering the Manipur issue. But there are a lot of misinformation in this video. Some of which are: 1. The clash is between Meiteis and Kukis, Nagas are not involved- which also proves its not about ST demand. 2. The main issue is the termination of SoO agreement between the State government and the armed kuki militants. The State government withrew from it because the SoO millitants had broken ground rules of the agreement, like extortion of money from civilians and involvement in poppy trade. 3. In case meiteis get ST demand, they would automatically give up OBC and SC- which most meiteis don't even have in the first place. 4. The violence had started more than a month before May 3rd with the burning of reserved forests, forest offices, public property, open gym, etc by kuki millitants and radicals.

I recently watched many videos on the Manipur violence and conflict between the ethnic groups. All the RUclips creators have put in serious effort to study the situation and we really appreciate it and one suggestion from my side is that all the serious creators can discuss this situation on a single forum and try to find the solution for it and present it to the government which can be very helpful to unite our country and help Manipur.
Unite the country. Deep fissures is already present in current regime between various ethnic and religious groups in our country and you talk to unity. An ideal solution is not a solution at all. For uniting a country as big and as populous as ours, the political class needs to shun the religious and identity politics first, then after any solution can be put on table. The manipur clash took placed between the two tribal groups one is meitei another is kukie.Meitei has more than 2000 years old history in manipur their kings and ancestors once ruled the entire manipur . Mostly there are various religious people in meitei groups such as sanmahi , Buddhist,hindus and muslim also. kookies are Christian in majority and they have only 100 or 200 years history in manipur, record says that british helped them to sattle in manipur. The kookies get benifits of sc/ St reservation and they get facilities in government job they can buy land in entire manipur whether the meitei doesn't have any sc/St reservation even they can not buy their land in kookie's area. The conflict happens when meitei start demanding sc/St reservation for them and court also gave statement in favour of them. Somehow Meitis are right Being in majority they have only 10% land of state . If Kukis can buy land in vallery then why not meitis . . Atleast land acquistion should be allowed .Also meitis have right to preserve their culture . Meiteis with SC, OBC already in their power, they're the most developing community in Imphal, Manipur. The 10% land was divided during the British rule hence they have the 10% rule. In villages like Kangpokpi and Churachanpur they have lands and buildings there. On May 3rd when we were about to go on our rally they initiated a counter rally where they were against us, we didn't say anything but when we went ahead with our rally which was supposed to be peaceful, they burnt our Kuki centenary Gate which is a commemoration for the Anglo Kuki war. They then chased our people out of Imphal brutally raped our woman burnt our people alive, shot a old women in church and they clamied she was a terrorist which was lies bc I knew that old lady ever since I was young, they beheaded our brother David and the list goes on

Around 1-2% of total meiteis of 35 lakhs gets SC status, it's just for name sake. And those staying at rural areas and fall under below poverty line gets the OBC status which is around 50% rest are General category.

I second your solution on making a Union of North East states just like EU. Once the community leader debate with each other, an universal acceptable situation will be developed. Though it may take years, its possible. 2. Making Union of North East states can give some kind of autonomy to those states and hence extremism may also be reduced to certain extent.

Coming to the independence question, only Nagaland is asking for independence. Other northeastern states are still under the control of the government. Extremism is there but minimal, then again you cannot completely eradicate it. 3. If things like Manipur, and Mizo-Assam crash constantly happen and the government does nothing but enact the APSA act, then obviously people will lose their trust in government/governmental bodies. 4. Best way is to provide them with some sort of autonomy by forming a union. Making a country is not a piece of cake. The leaders know that and with the union asking for independence will be reduced to certain extent.

I am from NE , I am all for including NE history in education but that is not going to solve the issue. The real reason for problems in NE are 1. Divisive politics of local positions, which unfortunately all political parties has been keeping this alive, in the name of minority majority. 2. India’s policy of reservation based on caste and tribe. I am all for affirmative action but not based on tribe/caste. 3. Influence of Christianity in tribal areas they look at themselves different from Hindu/Buddhist. Long term solution - remove all special provisions, tribe , caste based special treatment. Let every citizen be same in the eye of rule of law. Yes, we should have welfare for the needy not based on tribe/caste.
Not essentially for buying lands at the hills (as the tendency of people is to come down at the valley) but more on safeguarding the lands left at the valley. The socio economic conditions of many households inside urban areas have become so bad that we are witnessing families selling off ancestral lands and shifting to other places due to financial constraints. We must stop seeing this situation as a "majoritarian" community lashing out to the minority but an indigenous community cry for help, rather the tears have dried up and turned into flames of frustration.
Could you also see ,why central govt is complacent, for going soft on the Kukis chin,for Kaladan project,route to NE through Myanmar kaladan river to Paletwa.From there by road to Mizoram. This angle by centre for not taking strong action on these kukichin,who occupy this route in Myanmar.

I would add only two points: (i) the crux of the problem is the large-scale illegal Kuki immigrants from Myanmar over the period of time including armed militants, with which the Indian Govt has signed SoO agreement, due to which the Central Armed forces and the State Armed forces cannot attack or fire at these Kuki militants. (ii) The Myanmar-India border in Manipur is a porous border, which means no protection, no fencing, and hence free passage. Until the Govt suspends the SoO agreement and stops the heavily armed Kuki militants from killing more people, the situation is not going to change. As you rightly pointed out, there are hands of Foreign designs in this Manipur mayhem, where the violence has been used as a means to an end, where the end is a separate state for the Kukis. And once that materialises, we can well understand what is going to happen to India- you have already mentioned the Golden Triangle.

I know this is for educational purpose, so you left out so many aspects of the crisis but it is important to note that- 1. The political might of the state as well as the majority population belongs to the meiteis and they are abusing the powers which was given to them to safeguard and serve the inhabitants. 2. They wrongly tag every Kuki as Illegal Immigrants or Narco Terrorist, which goes against the Constitutions of India. 3. Even the Nagas cultivate poppy in their hills, even meiteis illegally import drugs through the Moreh border but this narrative of Kukis being the mafia of drug trade is false, every big name that had been caught till now are meiteis. Thiefs and scoundrels. 4. Our taxes goes to sponsor their armed militants directly from the state. The Manipur police and commandos have so many militants within their ranks that we can't trust them anymore. In Moreh they can pick up a Kuki and beat him to near death situation and run over women with their vehicles and molest them while conducting house raids. My biggest question is, Why is the centre government giving them a free hand even after all this time? What is the scheme of the Centre? They seemed to be doing something to remedy it but it has no effects.
problems of immigration ( Assam) and drugs (Punjab) are present in other states , any state government has enough means to deal with it. the only difference in manipur is that.. the state government along with the valley dwelling people have used the excuse/opportunity of drugs, immigration and false data to seize the lands and rights of hills people.

Other reasons like ST status demanded by Meities, seems and projected as the main reason for the clash, but it is not so. Buying land in the hills and settling by Meities, forming a village, is next to impossible if allowed also. Reasons are many for this. There is no religion angle is absolutely ruled out as some people are trying to bring religion. Anyway a very good video. Hats off

A tribal scoring a 300/800 (ST loaded fam) in CUET got in a top tier college in DU while my brother, who scored a 690/800 barely got in a good college in DU. How in the world is this fair? Law & order is a state subject. So your questions should be addressed to CM. PM can help on request but cannot intervene/act unless presidential rule is imposed. That's how our democracy is designed to work. A responsible person would never comment on any sensitive, complicated & burning issue, but will work on it quietly.
One more thing. Are you aware of the recent riots in France? It did not stop them from inviting a PM of other country. This is something you need to understand. These are official visits, not personal visits. Both leaders understand what's important for their own nation. Just check the list of agreements signed in this visit.

Thanks for covering the Manipur issue. But there are a lot of misinformation in this video. Some of which are:
1. The clash is between Meiteis and Kukis, Nagas are not involved- which also proves its not about ST demand.
2. The main issue is the termination of SoO agreement between the State government and the armed kuki militants. The State government withrew from it because the SoO millitants had broken ground rules of the agreement, like extortion of money from civilians and involvement in poppy trade.
3. In case meiteis get ST demand, they would automatically give up OBC and SC- which most meiteis don't even have in the first place.
4. The violence had started more than a month before May 3rd with the burning of reserved forests, forest offices, public property, open gym, etc by kuki millitants and radicals.

I recently watched many videos on the Manipur violence and conflict between the ethnic groups. All the RUclips creators have put in serious effort to study the situation and we really appreciate it and one suggestion from my side is that all the serious creators can discuss this situation on a single forum and try to find the solution for it and present it to the government which can be very helpful to unite our country and help Manipur.
Unite the country. Deep fissures is already present in current regime between various ethnic and religious groups in our country and you talk to unity. An ideal solution is not a solution at all.
For uniting a country as big and as populous as ours, the political class needs to shun the religious and identity politics first, then after any solution can be put on table. The manipur clash took placed between the two tribal groups one is meitei another is kukie.Meitei has more than 2000 years old history in manipur their kings and ancestors once ruled the entire manipur . Mostly there are various religious people in meitei groups such as sanmahi , Buddhist,hindus and muslim also. kookies are Christian in majority and they have only 100 or 200 years history in manipur, record says that british helped them to sattle in manipur. The kookies get benifits of sc/ St reservation and they get facilities in government job they can buy land in entire manipur whether the meitei doesn't have any sc/St reservation even they can not buy their land in kookie's area. The conflict happens when meitei start demanding sc/St reservation for them and court also gave statement in favour of them. Some people highlighting this issue with religious angle whether the both group worship places being destroyed and women and children affected in this clash .
And somebody portrayed this act as a hinduvta act then from which religion angle what should I say about the British and islamic invaders act ,what happened with girja tikko in kashmir what radical religion group act was that?

Somehow Meitis are right Being in majority they have only 10% land of state . If Kukis can buy land in vallery then why not meitis . . Atleast land acquistion should be allowed .Also meitis have right to preserve their culture . Meiteis with SC, OBC already in their power, they're the most developing community in Imphal, Manipur. The 10% land was divided during the British rule hence they have the 10% rule. In villages like Kangpokpi and Churachanpur they have lands and buildings there. On May 3rd when we were about to go on our rally they initiated a counter rally where they were against us, we didn't say anything but when we went ahead with our rally which was supposed to be peaceful, they burnt our Kuki centenary Gate which is a commemoration for the Anglo Kuki war. They then chased our people out of Imphal brutally raped our woman burnt our people alive, shot a old women in church and they clamied she was a terrorist which was lies bc I knew that old lady ever since I was young, they beheaded our brother David and the list goes on
Not only that their so called arambai tengols "freedom fighters" guided meiteis to steal from the Kuki people. Note this: Kuki people have left behind everything, every single hardwork they've been saving up for years. They then went ahead to burn our churches and houses. They beheaded an innocent man. They say they want peace but can't stop sending people to villages where kuki people are taking refuge in and then they blame us again when we protect ourselves again. The chanting of "Kill Kukis" still rings in my head till this day

I second your solution on making a Union of North East states just like EU. Once the community leader debate with each other, an universal acceptable situation will be developed. Though it may take years, its possible.
2. Making Union of North East states can give some kind of autonomy to those states and hence extremism may also be reduced to certain extent.

2. Coming to the independence question, only Nagaland is asking for independence. Other northeastern states are still under the control of the government. Extremism is there but minimal, then again you cannot completely eradicate it.
3. If things like Manipur, and Mizo-Assam crash constantly happen and the government does nothing but enact the APSA act, then obviously people will lose their trust in government/governmental bodies.
4. Best way is to provide them with some sort of autonomy by forming a union. Making a country is not a piece of cake. The leaders know that and with the union asking for independence will be reduced to certain extent.

I am from NE , I am all for including NE history in education but that is not going to solve the issue. The real reason for problems in NE are
1. Divisive politics of local positions, which unfortunately all political parties has been keeping this alive, in the name of minority majority.
2. India’s policy of reservation based on caste and tribe. I am all for affirmative action but not based on tribe/caste.
3. Influence of Christianity in tribal areas they look at themselves different from Hindu/Buddhist.
Long term solution - remove all special provisions, tribe , caste based special treatment. Let every citizen be same in the eye of rule of law. Yes, we should have welfare for the needy not based on tribe/caste.

Not essentially for buying lands at the hills (as the tendency of people is to come down at the valley) but more on safeguarding the lands left at the valley. The socio economic conditions of many households inside urban areas have become so bad that we are witnessing families selling off ancestral lands and shifting to other places due to financial constraints. We must stop seeing this situation as a "majoritarian" community lashing out to the minority but an indigenous community cry for help, rather the tears have dried up and turned into flames of frustration.

Could you also see ,why central govt is complacent, for going soft on the Kukis chin,for Kaladan project,route to NE through Myanmar kaladan river to Paletwa.From there by road to Mizoram. This angle by centre for not taking strong action on these kukichin,who occupy this route in Myanmar.
Thanks, ma'am for bringing up the complex issue of Manipur with such precision and crispness. I would add only two points: (i) the crux of the problem is the large-scale illegal Kuki immigrants from Myanmar over the period of time including armed militants, with which the Indian Govt has signed SoO agreement, due to which the Central Armed forces and the State Armed forces cannot attack or fire at these Kuki militants. (ii) The Myanmar-India border in Manipur is a porous border, which means no protection, no fencing, and hence free passage. Until the Govt suspends the SoO agreement and stops the heavily armed Kuki militants from killing more people, the situation is not going to change. As you rightly pointed out, there are hands of Foreign designs in this Manipur mayhem, where the violence has been used as a means to an end, where the end is a separate state for the Kukis. And once that materialises, we can well understand what is going to happen to India- you have already mentioned the Golden Triangle.

I know this is for educational purpose, so you left out so many aspects of the crisis but it is important to note that-
1. The political might of the state as well as the majority population belongs to the meiteis and they are abusing the powers which was given to them to safeguard and serve the inhabitants.
2. They wrongly tag every Kuki as Illegal Immigrants or Narco Terrorist, which goes against the Constitutions of India.
3. Even the Nagas cultivate poppy in their hills, even meiteis illegally import drugs through the Moreh border but this narrative of Kukis being the mafia of drug trade is false, every big name that had been caught till now are meiteis. Thiefs and scoundrels.
4. Our taxes goes to sponsor their armed militants directly from the state. The Manipur police and commandos have so many militants within their ranks that we can't trust them anymore. In Moreh they can pick up a Kuki and beat him to near death situation and run over women with their vehicles and molest them while conducting house raids.
My biggest question is, Why is the centre government giving them a free hand even after all this time? What is the scheme of the Centre? They seemed to be doing something to remedy it but it has no effects.
problems of immigration ( Assam) and drugs (Punjab) are present in other states , any state government has enough means to deal with it. the only difference in manipur is that.. the state government along with the valley dwelling people have used the excuse/opportunity of drugs, immigration and false data to seize the lands and rights of hills people.
Both immigration issues and drug issue is happening in Manipur

We meiteis never started the war and never attack them we are just defending our own village, our people that's it till now. It's been more than 78 days the violence broke out, more than 200 people are murdered, many villages, temples are burnt by illegal kuki immigrants and now they are playing victim card as other mainland India's people started knowing the truth.

This issue has not been highlighted much. Therefore narrowing down everyone's perception and these things are keeping everyone away from reality.

Four factors for Manipur's present crisis are-Drug cartel, poppy cultivation clearing the reserve forest, illegal migraines, which the central govt should take seriously as it will be a national security problem. Other reasons like ST status demanded by Meities, seems and projected as the main reason for the clash, but it is not so. Buying land in the hills and settling by Meities, forming a village, is next to impossible if allowed also. Reasons are many for this. There is no religion angle is absolutely ruled out as some people are trying to bring religion. Anyway a very good video. Hats off
