Can't Thank you enough for researching deeply the history of Manipur and bringing out key points and how people of Manipur were being oppressed and ignored in certain areas of policy making which would have prevented the current situation. Definitely not asking for sympathy but Meiteis have suffered a huge loss in terms of cultural identity, tradition and religion ever since the British rule. But Meiteis saw a slow rise in cultural and religious preservation since the last few years and i was very hopeful the glory of centuries old Meitei culture are being brought back. But then incidents like this happen and again threatening the cultural identity and it's always the outsiders threatening the preservation. They want separate land which rightfully belongs to the indigenous people of Manipur just because British played the divide and rule card and they were allowed to settle in Manipur.

Everytime when we start talking sense with these facts, we will be bulldozed by all the current incidents and get diverted from understanding the actual root cause of the issue and who are the perpetrators. Until now, many of the Meitei scholar and social activists have tried to brought up these facts in many mainstream media interviews but none could be said as of the Kuki scholars or representatives. Despite having two states in Myanmar (chin) & India(Mizoram),Kuki-chin-Mizo people want to create another state in the name of Kukiland. Then they want to create greater Mizoram. They are fighting their war in Hill Chittagong with our Bangladesh army. In Bangladesh and Myanmar, Both kukis & meiteis are enlisted as tribe. Even in Bangladesh meiteis are constitutionally granted & benefitted as tribe! There are no problems at all! But In india when meiteis are lawfully demanding ST status, so many kukis are opposing it! It really really surprised and shocked me! Later found out that it is against their greater Kuki-chin-Mizo land! The 1953 Kalekar Commission listed meiteis as ST but left it to the state to decide.If the meiteis didn’t take up the ST status that does not mean they are not entitled to ST! An indian living abroad may refuse to take OCI status, but can change his/her mind after 50 years and apply for OCI Status, there is no bar.
Sad kuki are all illiterate their ITLF leader doesn't even know what is 15th August for India.. basic sense how will Myanmar PPL know what is 15th August for India.. but the kuki guardian Karan Thapar will be protecting them at any cost 😂

Your governments in the post-Independence committed genocides in Chittagong which forced Chakma, Hajong and other tribes to flee to Northeast India. By the time your government declared them tribal status the damage was already done. Now in Mizoram and Arunachal the Chakma tribes are having ethnic clashes with local tribes.

From the beginning I saw this as a failure of our intelligence agencies for not seeing this coming. And when it hit, it hit very hard that our own people suffered terribly. Even I wanted the Modi govt to first deploy our armed forces in Manipur that is yet to happen. The stench of external forces had been present in the heart of this very conflict since decades but was never dealt seriously. I still remember articles from newspapers how helpless naga people also fell victim to the missionaries while the ones who raised their voices against this crime were forever ignored to a state that the problem has become the normal nature today. I originally thought these oppressors were chinese but the bigger picture involves the west too. Even I agree with the second form of justice but I'm also sure that it's probably not going to happen in next 5-6 years maybe but yeah Modi's administration has failed to resolve this when they had time and now they discuss issues in parliament completely irrelevant. Never knew the original Meiteis are only given access to their ancestral property for about 5% is shocking beyond imagination. I still can't believe if we are on this long run of making Bharat retain its true original status but at the same time not considering our hilly neighbours, adressing their problems is very sad and makes me angry. Even I say that naming India to Bharat can wait but our own Maitei people can't afford another 10 years if this keeps on going. THEIR ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED NOW.

Also, no monetory and arm support to kuki. Where as monetory and arm support should be given to Nagas and meitei people. Kukis will keep on coming if they are getting the special previlages. Can't Thank you enough for researching deeply the history of Manipur and bringing out key points and how people of Manipur were being oppressed and ignored in certain areas of policy making which would have prevented the current situation. Definitely not asking for sympathy but Meiteis have suffered a huge loss in terms of cultural identity, tradition and religion ever since the British rule. But Meiteis saw a slow rise in cultural and religious preservation since the last few years and i was very hopeful the glory of centuries old Meitei culture are being brought back. But then incidents like this happen and again threatening the cultural identity and it's always the outsiders threatening the preservation. They want separate land which rightfully belongs to the indigenous people of Manipur just because British played the divide and rule card and they were allowed to settle in Manipur.

The 1953 Kalekar Commission listed meiteis as ST but left it to the state to decide.If the meiteis didn’t take up the ST status that does not mean they are not entitled to ST! An indian living abroad may refuse to take OCI status, but can change his/her mind after 50 years and apply for OCI Status, there is no bar.

From the beginning I saw this as a failure of our intelligence agencies for not seeing this coming. And when it hit, it hit very hard that our own people suffered terribly. Even I wanted the Modi govt to first deploy our armed forces in Manipur that is yet to happen. The stench of external forces had been present in the heart of this very conflict since decades but was never dealt seriously. I still remember articles from newspapers how helpless naga people also fell victim to the missionaries while the ones who raised their voices against this crime were forever ignored to a state that the problem has become the normal nature today. I originally thought these oppressors were chinese but the bigger picture involves the west too. Even I agree with the second form of justice but I'm also sure that it's probably not going to happen in next 5-6 years maybe but yeah Modi's administration has failed to resolve this when they had time and now they discuss issues in parliament completely irrelevant. Never knew the original Meiteis are only given access to their ancestral property for about 5% is shocking beyond imagination. I still can't believe if we are on this long run of making Bharat retain its true original status but at the same time not considering our hilly neighbours, adressing their problems is very sad and makes me angry. Thank you Abhijit sir for the valuable information. I think that the meiteis and Nagas must be given the same ST status and the kukis must be given the status of open category. Also, no monetory and arm support to kuki. Where as monetory and arm support should be given to Nagas and meitei people. Kukis will keep on coming if they are getting the special previlages. So we need to cut down kuki previlages to zero. Each North eastern states have beautiful cultural and spiritual beauty. As Indian citizen it is our prime duty to support in preserving it.

It seemed that nobody is trying to believe that the Meiteis are suffering... Your very apt and honest analysis shows that there are some people who really understands the problems of the Meiteis. The 6% of valley is becoming so congested and the Meiteis have started realising that they are slowly becoming a minority in their own homeland due to the demographic change.... Those who have no idea of their dire situation is blaming the Meiteis just because they have been termed the majority people in the state... But in reality they are confined to the small valley area where too they have to face various challenges that threatens their own existence... Always used to think that all northeast is Christian and of non-Bharat culture. It's a new learning for me that the Manipuri Maithis are truly Sanatani Bharatiyas and they were also found in Maha Bharatam.

However, Hindus, or people of Hind or Indus, or better still Jambudweepa were all of Indiginous Indian genes. What is so wrong in recognizing your gene? Am I calling it bad? Am I saying because you are not the indigenous gene you are an outsider?
