Brilliant. Perfect. Thank you so much! I am new to DELL Precision. I would assume that the two memory slots accessible without lifting the keyboard would likely be used first if someone is doing a memory upgrade? They are more easily accessible, vs the primary ones.
1. Battery is adhered in 2 places by factory, I found it necessary to pry evenly in 3 places along the inside edge. I found necessary to use a plastic card wedged at outer edge while prying the battery out. 2. Notice these are ports "B" and "D". It appears the Precision 7740 is expecting the ports to filled sequentially when adding memory, so if you are upgrading these 2 ports only, it may be helpful to restart in BIOS (repeatedly tap "F2") to tell it where memory was added. Otherwise you may get an error message.
the one i sue is not sold anymore but the brand is Kaisi: something like this: www.amazon.com/Kaisi-Professional-Electronics-Non-Abrasive-Anti-Static/dp/B015CMAJVK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=kaisi+pry+tool&qid=1585739762&sr=8-1
thanks for making very detailed clear video about this
My kids are freaking out about how much your accent reminds them of Taika Waititi in "Free Guy"!!!

Thanks for this video it was amazingly helpful
Thanks! Same process works for the 7750 also
Awesome tutorial GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In your opinion is the 7740 all around better than the xps15
i have not used XPS15, sorry, only the precisions and lattitudes.
whats the max ram this will take?
I think 128GB. Each slot can take upto 32GB memory module. 4 x 32GB = 128GB in total.
can you tell us the type of plastic pry tools to buy and link

2021: Me too. :-)
Anyone know? Can the primary RAM have different sizes than secondary? Such as 8GB primary and 32GB in secondary?
you can but its best to match ram exactly
