Well said. I like the idea of being active and doing local sport. The whole industry and obsession around national and international sport is a bit crazy in my opinion.
Well done Titus !! You are 100% Correct 👍🏼 All sports these days are all about $$$$$$$ & also are Very Political!! The Best thing is what you are doing , Walking 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶👍🏼🤩😎
I'm not sure if you watched the video, but I'm all in favour of people playing sports. But the international /commercial/political version of it takes the concept too far.
I’m neither athletic nor musical, but I enjoy watching and listening to both athletic competitions and musical performances. The two sorts of activity do not seem to me to be in conflict. They are both things humans do as part of their enjoyment of life. Ditto stage and screen acting, street performing, dance, visual arts, poetry, etc. Humans do lots of things to enhance our existence, some competitive, many cooperative, some solitary, some classed as work, some as play, all valid parts of life. No one person is required to enjoy all of the many activities people do, either as a participant or spectator. I for instance do not care for watching most of the games called football, but I do enjoy watching American softball and occasionally American baseball. It’s OK for you not to care for the Olympics. It’s also OK for others to enjoy them.
Thanks for your comment. As my video says, there are a few things that are problematic about the Olympics, which some choose to ignore. It’s still ok to enjoy them.
Thank you for your insights! I find too these days that more roles and events are requiring extreme measures simply due to the fact that we increase the size of the talent pool by going global in scope. Perhaps in some areas like scientific research this is a good thing, but the increased competition can make it harder for everybody involved to enjoy themselves even the ones at the top. Much like the sentiments youve expressed, I think sports and the arts should be focused on personal growth, expression, and satisfaction before focusing on competition results and prestige.
I don't agree that the Olympics is 'pure sport' rather it is a mixture of politics, sport, big business, entertainment, the laest societal fantasy - witness the opening ceremony of the current French version. But otherwise yes I agree with your words, as far as I can for one who has no interest in sport at all (!) Your point about the stressing of the body to extremes is accurate. Many retired sport players hobble with pain for the latter part of their lives.
I don’t think I ever cared about the Olympic. The only sport I played was basketball. I could care less about the Grammys and Oscar. I use to watch the vmas. I don’t even watch tv anymore. I’m always online talking to people.
@@peporgan Of course you do. It’s kind of a self-referring joke because here in Germany you are supposed to stop on every red light - even no car has been seen for ages 😉 It’s a meme which almost every foreigner picks up in his video about things that are typically German, a little bit weird, or culture shocks … or simply “Don’ts”. Stay safe, Titus 😉
But I don't like sports because, firstly, it is the opposite of physical education (it spoils health, rather than strengthens it). And secondly, its spirit of victory of one at the expense of another is the opposite of the spirit of cooperation and co-joy.
Cause I listened to you, it helped me think also, you sir are right and the original olympic in antique greece, the most important title to win was the pentatlon, 5 different activities to crown the hero, they thought like you. Now is it possible to say the same things about piano competitions? Students could be judged on different aspect of music. For exemple it’s stupid to win Chopin competition if you can’t improvise, since he was a master at it.

Hi Titus! Not a fan of the Olympics because it has become too political. Really enjoy your walking talks! Hope you are doing well! -N
Thanks Nick!

POV "I don't understand sports" as an 11 minute and 12 second video.

The Olympics competitions are much less of a commercialized event than NBA, NFL, and European football.

Good points.

WELL SAD You are spot on! And you got some good exercise in while recording this. Thanks
Indeed! I love walking.
German watching the video and thinking: Did he just cross the road while the lights showed red? 😮 … 😂 Greetings from the home of Bach. 😊
Haha! I know the streets and roads well enough to not get hurt.

great video

Interesting take. Yes, competitive sports are divisive.

True!
