@@MandarinCorner2 Anytime! Thanks again for all your incredible content! I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago and I heavily enjoy your content. I'm a grad student studying Chinese language and I found your HSK5 series really well done. It's always good to look back though and see what words you missed in earlier levels, and to see how well you progressed in a language.
This woman is GOOD! Her pronunciation is crystal clear! Also good at explaining the meaning and providing a sample sentence. EXCELLENT QUALITY LESSON!! Good job 👍
A friend of mine recommended your channel to me yesterday. I dropped by to see what's it about, and I must say that I am thoroughly amazed. I am a self-taught student of Chinese (lived in China for a while, no formal language school), and this will surely help me progress even more.
Eileen, 非常感谢!

What is the name of the song at :16? Thanks, Eileen.
So brilliant! Yes, your sentences require some thought for me, a beginner, to parse. But they are simple enough to parse I can understand Chinese grammar. Your inclusion of pinyin is excellent and helps me so much as I learn the characters. The reinforcement of being able to read the pinyin and characters at the same time is amazing. God Bless you!
This is one of the best learning tools that I have come across for leveling up one's Chinese I'm definitely subscribing and I plan on using your resources on a regular basis to get to more advanced levels of Chinese. Thank you for this amazing content. (And, I just joined your website and am looking forward to gaining access to your premium content!) Thank you, again!

Thank you Eileen for your videos and hardwork.
I passed HSK 5 many years ago and lived in China, but I never learned the tones properly, which makes me really unsure of myself when I speak. Your page looks amazing, it motivates me to start again from HSK 1 :D
Servus. Ich hab einen Trick herausgefunden : ich spreche und lasse meine Schüler so lange mit Google translate & PLECO sprechen, BIS dass uns die Software 2-3x hintereinander wirklich korrekt versteht. Kann auch schon von einer Rasur zur andern dauern und es kommen zT fantasievolle Sätze dabei raus. 🥴🥴🥴. LG nach Görmänie.

Your video is amazing. I am currently living in china and learning from your videos. Also, you're so beautiful ❣

As a an advanced speaker i think Eileen is so good I decided to come check out the HSK 1 just for fun idk why and these sentences are so past a HSK1 level haha even 请把电视关掉 is at least HSK 3 level sentence (which is good to get people exposed to more stuff) … but I’m stuck at hsk5 for a long time. Luckily I’ve been exposed for a long time to many of the hsk5 words for a long time and even know many hsk6 words but I want to get on some curriculum stuff to progress steadily. Love the channel and i donated a long time ago for the lifelong access 🎉

hello, i found this channel today and i immediately registered in the website, i read about having the premium but i am still a student, is it still okay not to join the premium? will i still learn completely without it? so I will continue learning from the website and through this channel.
i started my junior high school with Chinese language in my subjects, since I have a lot of subjects to take i didn't realize have a time to focus, now it's my school break and I really treasure the language and still want to learn further, hope you answer my questions, thank you for the contents Laoshi Aileen! ♡
Would you recommend this is where to start if I know no Chinese at all except a few words here and there? is there something I should watch or study before these videos?
Perhaps, you should learn the basic about Pinyin.
thank you feichang
我喜欢吃这道菜
What does dao (道) in the end stand for? Is it classifier for 菜?
Yes. That's the measure word for 菜。 We actually did a video about measure words, including 道。ruclips.net/video/G-ptT-ydbUg/видео.html&lc=Ugxb8liwD1k6dBxuAHR4AaABAg
Is this simplified version of kanzi showed in the video or traditional?
Simplified.
谢谢 Eileen老师! 我 have a 问题 on this sentence: 这家饭店菜很好吃。Zhè jiā fàndiàn cài hěn hǎo chī. The dishes in this restaurant are delicious. I'm curious why you chose to add 家 after 这? Is this one of those sentences I should learn as a chunk?
jia is the measure word for business. 一家饭店,一家公司,一家酒店 and so on. It's a common measure word that you should remember. In fact, we did a video about measure words in Chinese. Here is a link:

@@MandarinCorner2 Thank you! I’ll check that video out! Have an amazing weekend!
Thank you so much for your video. I wonder is there any road-map to HSK 4 or any HSK level in general?
3:26 Tin ban dianshi guan diao..why BA? 4:09 wo sheme dongxi do buxiang yao...yao at the end? why not just leave it out..and sheme dongxi do..means anything?
I agree with you that there is a lacking of explanations. Even though those are HSK 1 words, the sentences are not. This is a reason why these videos are not getting many views.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think these examples are really advance for HSK 1 learner.
I agree. They sneak in some extra words. From my perspective right now that's great. I've studied Chinese for 6 months, many hours per day. Now my plan is to go through all 80 of these videos including spaced repetitions as one part of my studies. Maybe I'll knock it off in 40 days.
We say bābā also in Bengali
太棒了
The examples should contain only words from the respective HSK and the previous ones.

That is surprising that, in some cases, I better understand Chinese through characters rather than pinyin.

what is it that you say before each word _? I just dont get it
Hi Fa B. I believe you're talking about numbers. I said di4 yi1 ge 第一个... So you can ignore that.
Mandarin Corner yeah it is that ..i see it now... thank you Teacher
In 这个城市很难打到出租车。what does 打到 mean? 🙈 I mean how do you translate it? Pleco says it means to attack or bring down on the ground..
打出租车,is a collocation and it means ‘to take a taxi". 到 is a resultative verb ending that shows the result of another action verb. So, 打到 means "successfully get a (taxi)". PS. 打 alone means "to attack, to hit"
ruclips.net/video/P_2ZUclowjw/видео.html Here is a verb we introduced 28 resultative verb endings
😊
I notice you pronounce 菜 as "TS-EYE", like I do. Whereas some people pronounce it as "CH-EYE".
Is it a dialect thing? When I tried to order 酸菜 (suan cai, or sauerkraut), the waitress said she didn't understand what I was asking for. Seems she goes with the "CH-EYE" pronunciation. Kinda frustrating.
Some Chinese people do mispronounce this word. C-CH, S-SH, Z-ZH
But the standard pronunciation should be cai4 (TS-EYE) for 菜。
@@MandarinCorner2太好了!Glad to know I'm doing it right. :) 谢谢!
why is there an apostrophe between nü and er (女儿 : nü'er)
Because there are two sounds in 女儿, and the second sound doesn't have a consonant. So we need an apostrophe to separate them. For example: the word : "mián'ǎo" , if there isn't separation, it will create confusion and people might pronounce it as "miá nǎo".
@@MandarinCorner2 我现在明白。谢谢!
hsk 4 have 1200 charactar please all explane, thankes you so mush
That's a very unusual way to pronounce erzi - is this a regional accent thing?
I wondered the same, as I usually hear something like "aaar zi." Just a guess, but I wonder if the "aaar zi" is actually the regional thing-Beijing dialect, asserting itself as "standard"-and if this pronunciation is actually a widespread one among non-Beijingers?
Curling everything into Rs is a beijing accent thing. I can't stand strong beijing accents.
The background should be lighter
Our *upgraded HSK 1* has this improvement, among many: ruclips.net/video/mfBwNIjMbss/видео.html

bu2 ke4 qi5!
Why do you write the English words with a capital letter?
Just our design choice, Eugene.
Mandarin Corner In English the capitalisation of letters is part of grammar not design. It’s the equivalent of writing Chinese using the wrong strokes, not a crime just awkward .
LOL how wrong you are, dumb bitch stop bullying the person creating great content.
How am I wrong? You should address the point I am making before you get your knickers in a knot.
What are you on about, yes you can capitalize single words. It would look awkward as fuck otherwise.
儿子的发音,这是南方人的发音吧😂,普通话不是这么读的
我的确来自南方,而且由于那是早期的视频,我的普通话并不十分标准,请多见谅。但是经过长期有意识地训练,我的发音比以前标准很多了。
The videos are carefully made but... your pronunciation of -en and -eng, -an and - ang etc... are unfortunately not accurately pronounced...
I don't think is not accurate. Is just that in some regions of China they don't make the distinction. Is actually good to heard different native speakers' pronunciation.
And sorry, English is not my native language. 😊
@@VibraAlto.03 They don't make the distinction doesn't mean there is no difference. Of course it's your choice and it's good to hear that you'd like to hear different pronunciations, but then you mean it's their dialects or accents, and it is another issue, in that case you are learning a dialect not mandarin, and in Mandarin there ARE differences between en and eng, an and ang, they can mean totally different things in words. Like I said, great videos here, but it would be better to make it more accurate, since if I am a language learner -- and I am, I would like to learn it in the right way.
