I just got my Wested Destiny last week and now I’m already eyeing a Steele and Jones! I can see how people end up with so many jackets. Thanks to you and your Destiny unboxing video, I was able to get my measurements perfect for the Wested, but the thought of having S&J custom make a jacket for me is too enticing to pass up. The real trick will be deciding on which version of the jacket to go with.

Absolutely agreed. They custom make patterns just for you so the jacket sits on your body like it does Ford. No other company does that. Everyone else just sizes up or down based on Ford patterns. S&J is the way to go.

A (hopefully) quick question for you: How big of a difference do you think there is between the Lambskin and the Cowhide on these Steel & Jones jackets? For me, I think it'd be the difference of being able to own one - or not. (My price ceiling is pretty firmly set at $400.) I guess I'm wondering just how much I'd be missing out on? 🤔
Depends on the jacket. There’s a big difference between lamb and cow in general but if you want a Raiders main hero like mine, you have to get the ribby lamb skin. If you don’t want the main hero then the cow might be a good choice. It’s more durable than lamb without being too heavy. I’m having a temple of doom jacket made in cow as we speak. :)

Won't be here until late October. My guess is after Indy 5, vendors will get SO back ordered that they'll freeze orders altogether. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm not gonna take that chance :)

Unfortunately I’m a fat ass so I can’t fit into any Indy jacket! I’m like a 2xL and I’m short so I don’t have any options for a jacket. But I am trying to loose weight so I hope that goes well for me lol
I love all of my jackets. As far as my Raiders jackets I don’t wear my Kelso relic hunter anymore but that’s not because of the jacket. It’s because it never fit me right. The S&J fits perfect so I see no reason to wear the Kelso anymore.
Diego at Steele & Jones creates patterns from scratch for each customer so your fit will look and drape exactly as it should for your body. You won’t be disappointed. Cheers!

A sharp eye shows most leather jacket wearing heroes I e Cruise in M I. black Leather blazer, Kurt Russell - Snake, Indy and many more have a tight fitting sleeves . Not practical for the masses or wearing a sweater under but cosmetically a nice look!
Depends on the jacket. The Last Crusade jacket has a loose sleeve. The temple of doom jacket (at least the end scene) has an obnoxiously tight sleeve. Each movie had a different jacket, and sometimes even differences between scenes in the same movie! I have 2 S&J jackets (this Raiders and a TOD end scene) and they’re both perfectly matched to what is on the screen but for my body.
I AM 52 YEARS OLD... i bought the jacket in norway i need zice XL but it`s only in zice 50 so i hope it fits me.... i am 172 cm in hight.... i bought the bulls whip, shirt, hat... and that jacket...i ordered it.... it cost me much....plus toll and tax

They claim they only have web shop, and their store closed 3 years ago. The whip and the jacket cost 404 pounds, in dollars it would be almost 400 dollars....now they claim they have shipped the shirt, the hat and the bag... all i need is the whip, gun holster, pants... i feel like a kid at christmas... who dare to say i am old LOL.. you are a young man and you look great as indiana jones
Thanks for watching, Master Wayne. I got these trousers from Wested leather. If you order a pair, don’t choose your normal retail size. These trousers measurements are based on your actual waist measurements. I wear a size 30 in retail pants but my true waist measurement is 34. A lot of people don’t know this and end up with pants that are way too small on them. Get a tailor’s measure and measure your waist then order your actual waist size and you should be good to go! Go with the TOD from S&J. It will take awhile but Diego is a master and his craftsmanship and dedication to detail is unmatched. I own Wested, S&J, and Kelso but S&J is my favorite. I’ve got an LC in the works and we’re talking about a Destiny jacket now.
Sadly, every jacket is different. Steele & Jones is very meticulous with measurements. Wested is a lot more confusing. One jacket is not like the other.
What I really like about Steele and jones is they send you a mock jacket to try on. That’s super cool and really unique. But Wested has the lineage that Steele doesn’t have. And Steele has the chocolate “ribbing” that Wested doesn’t have. So it’s hard to pick which one to buy when no matter which company you decide to go with, it’s not going to be completely accurate
Wested has the name but not the accuracy, regardless of what they claim. They’re also not very helpful when it comes to getting your measurements right. So many people put their Westeds up for sale as soon as they arrive because of sizing. It’s a shame.
All of my jackets are different weights. My lightest weights are: the Wested Legacy LC and my S&J TOD in lightweight cow. Medium weight: S&J Raiders in ribby lambskin, Kelso Raiders in lamb Medium heavy: S&J Last Crusade in authentic lamb Heavy weight: Wested Destiny

It sits on your body right, unlike the other vendors are matching the same pattern as Harrison’s which means, unless you’re built just like Harrison, it won’t sit on you right. I believe they also offer a payment plan to mitigate the impact of such a high cost.

The fact that after 40 years people still recognize a brown leather jacket and fedora as “Indy” is a testimony of its impact on culture. A shared love for this costume created an incredible community of people from all over the world. Some of the best people I’ve ever met were through this shared passion. What I don’t understand, and I say this with utmost respect, why go through the trouble of commenting on an Indiana Jones jacket review video to make your comment? I don’t like being mistaken for a cowboy, or characters from Walking Dead but I have no interest in informing people in those communities that I don’t like being compared to their beloved characters. I learned a long time ago that I either have to conform to fit into society or live my life the way I want and not care about what others think of me. I encourage you to do the latter. Enjoy your jacket and fedora. Be proud that you were wearing something that became a global icon, and remember that none of us are seen the way we want to be seen by the world. Ironically, I get mistaken for a cowboy a lot more than Indiana Jones.
Depends on what you’re willing to pay for. Some world war 2 flight jacket replicas can cost as much as $1,500. Steele & Jones has cheaper options, but the accurate hides they use are very expensive because they have to be custom created in small batches to achieve the level of accuracy they strive for. They also expertly distress the jacket to match what’s on screen. They’re the only Indy jacket vendor that does this. Other people charge upwards of $200 to do this to your jacket. Finally, they’re the only Indy vendor that creates new patterns from scratch for every customer so that the jacket will sit on your frame properly. All the other vendors use a base pattern that they will size up or down, which means if you aren’t built like Ford, the jacket won’t sit on you the way it should. All of these premium details add up to a lot of labor, not to mention the high cost of importing goods to Argentina, etc… If you want a cheaper option from them you can go with their lightweight cow. It’s a great leather and almost $300 cheaper. I have a TOD jacket in lightweight cow from them that is excellent. Cheers!

Yes I do! I have a TOD jacket made out of their thin cowhide. Incredible hide. Great undertones!

I hate lambkin! Its delicate, shreds easily and after hard use it literally falls apart. Give me cowskin or sheepskin any day.
The price on them are way too high.
Depends on what you’re willing to pay for. Some world war 2 flight jacket replicas can cost as much as $1,500.
Steele & Jones has cheaper options, but the accurate hides they use are very expensive because they have to be custom created in small batches to achieve the level of accuracy they strive for.
They also expertly distress the jacket to match what’s on screen. They’re the only Indy jacket vendor that does this. Other people charge upwards of $200 to do this to your jacket.
Finally, they’re the only Indy vendor that creates new patterns from scratch for every customer so that the jacket will sit on your frame properly. All the other vendors use a base pattern that they will size up or down, which means if you aren’t built like Ford, the jacket won’t sit on you the way it should.
All of these premium details add up to a lot of labor, not to mention the high cost of importing goods to Argentina, etc…
If you want a cheaper option from them you can go with their lightweight cow. It’s a great leather and almost $300 cheaper. I have a TOD jacket in lightweight cow from them that is excellent.
