With the new firmware for this device there are settings for changing the resolution also. Big change - as mentioned in the video - you don't switch modes using the software. You switch from Miracast (android) to Airplay (apple) by pressing the BUTTON ON THE DONGLE itself - press once and wait 5 seconds for the change. To Change back press again once and wait 5 seconds. In the settings page you can also change the RESOLUTION being cast which is a new feature on this firmware.
Sadly I don't have the updated firmware so I can't give you specific instructions on this. However, I will say, that while installing it on my friends TV. This was definitely possible in the settings area of the new firmware and we did change the resolution. This setting is NOT available however on my anycast m2plus which has the old firmware. I'm happy with the firmware I have so I go with the motto - "If it's not broke, don't try to fix it".
There ARE apps you can install so as to cast your phone/tablet to the TV using anycast. However, as I mentioned near the end of this video, the tablet my friend had simply didn't have the ability to cast no matter what app we installed. You'll just have to try a few different apps until you either get one that works or discover that your devices does not have the ability to cast. You could first do a google search with the words cast to TV and the model number of your mobile and see what that turns up - someone else may have sorted the problem for you.

how to switch output resolution on any cast m2 plus? As my led monitor doesn't support 1080 p.. 😢
