I did everything except support the colonel and git the ending where Aiden walks alone with the city still standing… all because I wanted the sunken city unlocked to explore
Which is weird cause I got the same cutscene with the herald talking about how the city is doing and the same text in the black screen with the night runners governing the city and lawan and hakon escaping both alive. The only thing different is aiden walking alone. Not doing that one thing of supporting the colonel changed that.
This ending and the one with Hakon are my favorite , wish we got an ending where Lawan and Hakon went with Aiden on the Save the City ending. Could have made for an interesting foundation for a dlc.
Glad I picked Frank from the get-go. Up to that point I'd been hardcore PK... but Rowe, Aitor, Lawan, and Frank really put into perspective how there's still caring people no matter the "side."
I liked the PK but my god the Bazaar people were insufferable, though the fish eye survivors were all great. I hate that they are labeled as the side instead of being a third option for nighturnners.

I slaughtered Hakon and saved Lawan in the end. The city was decimated by the missiles and never recovered. Everyone I knew died a horrible death. The end.
I would have gotten this ending my first playthrough, but I chose to save Lawan at the end, not realizing that meant blowing up the whole city. Hakon came with me, so I don't think it was the worst ending, but probably the 2nd worse.
I got the best ending but holy shit i didnt know i was playing with fire. I initially chose to save lawan but i was semi conflicted but then the game gave me a second chance to choose again with no countdown and i chose to let lawan save the city and hakon saved her so i got the best ending.
I achieved the secret ending by: -Saving Hakon -Saving Aitor by giving the small herbs -Give the tower to Frank -Being romantic to lawan on her quest -Make Lawan not kill Hakon and drop her hit list -I did let Frank die -Supported the Colonel -Let Lawan blow the charges and Hakon save her. Like I said, all of this gave me secret ending.
I was making good decisions, and then I decided to let Lawan kill Hakon. I instantly regretted it quit the game, and then restarted it, and then made the other choices. So I sort ofcheated a little, but kudos to you for getting it right the first time
I somehow ended up with the true ending, which was partly because I liked Hakon and I didn't kill him during his boss fight. I'm glad that I saved him and it paid off after all.
Whereas I killed him, big regrets. I'm going to replay it so I can save him. Question though, is there an ending where no rockets are launched? I really hope there is.

For me this is the Ultimate Best Ending of Dying Light 2 Aiden & Lawan. I wish Hakon was there when Aiden & Lawan left off the city this would be a Huge Easter Egg for a Dying Light 3 where the Trio Aiden, Lawan & Hakon would definitely meet the former Pilgrim Nightrunner which is now clearly the Night Hunter Kyle Crane in action. Who knows we might see a clash or some cure to make Kyle Crane return to his senses.

Same I unintentionally got this one on my second playthrough I was so happy, because on my first one I blew up the city thinking that I could save lawan.
Love how always ending up trying to save as many people as I can in these type of games always gets me the best ending just cuz I'm too nice to screw anyone over or be a dick even if it does get me an easier time in the game or rewards. Looking forward to the story dlcs hopefully they take into account if lawan left with you or not.
I chose the PK in the first chapter (Old Villedor). I couldn't stand the Survivors in that area. The PK seemed really reasonable and Aitor as their leader gave me the impression the devs really wanted us to kinda like the PK. That whole feeling flipped in Central Loop, though, and I almost immediately liked the Survivors more there than the PK. I got the perfect "secret" ending while siding with the PK in Old Villedor so no worries if you're on that rail! Too bad that, in the end, just blindly siding with the Survivors the entire time seems to be the save bet.
After being strong pk in old villedor lowkey felt bad for sophie when u see what happened to the bazaar nd how shes never seen again other than in her bed. And the fact u cant be with the homie hakon and lawan is fucked imo
The very last bit of the ending reminds me of stalker cinematics. Also, what do y’all think is better on the long run of the city. Peacekeeper or Survivors. PK’s cleaned out large portions of the city and made them safe from infected at the end, but hung every criminal and their family. The survivors were real kind, but you could see that the streets were still filled with infected.
Yup. No way it’s actually the best ending. They just don’t talk about how many people died. The survivors never demonstrated a viable plan forward but the game acts like it magically worked out despite any real change. 🤔
@@EdgeofAwesome well you can see the problems with the peacekeepers while still playing. As far as I know the PK do not evacuate the city if you give them VNC tower and frank does. We could now argue about what they would do with the rations from x13 but in my playthrough frank opens a canteen for people in need. PK care about their ingroup and I am not sure that they would help people once it really gets difficult.
my only real complaints with this (from what i have seen, i have not played the game yet) is that i would have liked to see the butcher die and/or answer for his crimes and to have Mia survive a bit longer to catch up on things but i can understand why she only lasted as long as she could given her condition.
Oh yeah and matt is very vengeful character he only wanted to kill the colonel because back at the day when they were both at the military matt wanted to be the first in ranks but the colonel didn't allow it wich pissed him off a lot there are also some other examples of matt being cruel
@critter critter he doesn’t try to destroy the city, he just gave power to the city so he could save Mia at X13, which in turn activated the missiles because it was a safety measure if the infection spread too much in the city, and the only way to stop that safety measure would make it so that it wasn’t possible to save Mia.
A very good note for players in the game, is that you can give the PK all the water towers and powerplants and yet still work towards helping frank and stuff. The towers, And powerplants do not matter for the story. So you can reap all the goodies and traps for the pk all over the map without worry about the endings. Let's all be "Frank" here (I am not sorry) the survivor's rewards are kinda....garbage. like they are not useful at all. The traps, U.V lamps, and especially the crossbow pack are S tier stuff and are always useful and unlike the survivor npcs...the pk soldiers will actually come out to help you in a fight if your near any outposts and not die in an instant..
I disagree. Later on in the game, you have so much power that the PK rewards fall off, and all you care about is ability to get around quickly, where the survivors have huge gains.

@@bavaronii yeah, Aiden leaves alone even if Hakon saves her on Waltz's side. Pretty sure Lawan only leaves with you if it's the full Frank route. I'm guessing it's because Frank takes over, which gives Lawan the comfort knowing that it's in good hands.
What made these choices easy for me were the survivors, Juan, and the Nightrunners. The survivors and Nightrunners believe in community, balance, and freedom. Those kinds of concepts are needed to thrive. Especially in the end of the world. And Juan is simply a charmer with no agenda. Just doing good business. And he has so much information like the Carriers. All of these are what made me get this ending on the first try!
I managed to get this ending on my first playthrough with a few different decisions. I sided with the PK the entire game until the radio tower, where I choose Frank, and I choose to run after the truck instead of saving him. I wish I had stayed to save Frank since I had successfully saved Aitor with the help of the witch, but Lawan still left with Aiden.
When Frank got the tower You can just feel the energy come back to him - Every morning he opens up like good morning Villedor - reminds me so much of -Robin Williams saying “gooooood morning Vietnam !!
I got this on my first playthrough and was very confused because the videos I'd seen hadn't covered it! Although in my playthrough, I let Frank die and Jack Matt ended up living after the missile hit. The herbalist wasn't alive to save Frank. It's also sad that no matter what, Mia dies.
I got really invested in the story after the Alberto scene and really tried to make the right choices and got this ending as well. For me the story was great, felt like it was worth investing in

Arguably there is better ending, if you open the flood gates. Lawan stays in the city at the end (which makes sense since she is the leader of the night runners). Also about the fact that the whole point of Aiden leaving is because he is a serious danger to others.

I really need your help though, not to mess up my playthrough. My objectives are: - Have the best ending (Survivors) with most or all characters alive (and preferably leave with Lawan instead of Hakon). I'd also like the Bazaar being there (not destroyed) with Sophie running it in the end. - At the same time, give all 7 Facilities to the PKs (to get all their faction rewards). - Get most of the missable Inhibitors along the way. By watching your videos (many, many times) I came up with a story progression & choices plan. Please tell me if it stands correct in your experience or there are any flaws: 1. Give all 3 story-based Facilities to the PKs. - Horseshoe Water Tower in the "Water Tower" story quest. - Downtown Electrical Station in the "A Place To Call Home" story quest. - Garrison Electrical Station in the "Broadcast" story quest. (not the antenna - just the Electrical Station) Note: This implies that I will play the "Into the Dark" story quest given by Aitor, instead of the "Revolution" story quest given by Sophie. → Due to this choice I will not get the hideout north of Trinity, and thus I will not be able to get the missable Inhibitors from there. ❑ So, I'll have to get them later through some co-op session where this hideout is present. Note: I don't know if in this path I will be forced to kill Sophie's brother Barney, and if yes, what consequences this will have to my relation with Sophie & the Bazaar in the end-game. Moreover, will the Bazaar even exist in the end game with Sophie running it (since the PKs will destroy it)? 2. Give the remaining 4 open-world Facilities to the PKs in free-roam. 3. Agree to help Juan in the "Welcome On Board" story quest in order to play the "Cathedral" instead of "The Lost Light". This will let me get the missable Inhibitors that are only present if you play the "Cathedral". This is the only time I will cooperate with Juan, just to get the Inhibitors. From now on, I will never side with him again. 4. Make sure Hakon lives till the end, on both the "Into the Dark" & "Nightrunners" story quests. This way he will be able to save Lawan in the final "X13" story quest instead of me saving her. Note: I'll get the "Nightrunners" story quest instead of the "Empire" or "Spy Game", since I will give the VNC antenna to Frank (Survivors) later in "Broadcast". 5. Play the "Aitor" side quest and make sure Margaret the healer woman lives and stays present in my world. I will need her later to save Frank. 6. Make sure Frank lives till the end. - Make sure Margaret the healer woman is still alive & present in my world (through the "Aitor" side quest & in any other choice I make), so that she can heal Frank. - In "The Breakthrough", where Frank gets shot, I will not chase the truck, but stay and help Frank instead. 7. Have the best possible relation with Lawan. In "The Shoe" story quest & in any other dialog choice that results in a good relation build-up. 8. Give the VNC Tower antenna to Frank (Survivors). 9. Believe the Colonel (not Jack Matt) & tell Lawan that it was a conspiracy in "Now or Never". 10. In the final "X13" story quest, save Mia & let Lawan detonate the bombs (not choose to save her). She will be saved by Hakon anyways. So, that's my objectives & plan to achieve them. Your opinion & input would be invaluable to me. Thanks in advance!

And as you said, this has minor to no impact in the ending. The other 2 don’t change the story path (quests) at all in my understanding. I kinda hate Sophie. The bazaar really teeters on cult territory, they try to hang you, then they spend the opening chapter of the game alternating between leading you into traps and using you as an executioner. When you actually get to "side" with her, it's only after she sent all of her most loyal people to kill you, and you do so as she holds a crossbow in your face, and all the while as her brother is the prime suspect for a murder investigation. Not a stellar impression, is all I'm saying
Agreed. Even though I wanted to be nice to the bazaar folk it was really hard when they're trying to fuck over the only guy helping them for like three weeks.
I got this ending too even when Frank died. I would stay with him, but my coop buddy convinced me to go after that car. Ruined the good feel in the late game for me so I am just starting a new game and want to do everything right. I missed a lot of side quests because my friend wanted to rush the main questline so I probably would play it again anyway. I recommend doing all side quests first when you can because some of them will be unavailable or glitched when you progress further in the story.
I know they shot many endings. But it seemed like a continuity error with the bartender saying Lawan was the leader of the Night runners when she'd left with Aidan.
The only reason I chose to save Lawan is because I thought that would lead to a cop-out ending where everything is actually fine because I knew there'd be one that the game devs want you to choose. I thought that would be to save Lawan and somehow magically the city wouldn't blow up but apparently it was to leave Lawan and somehow she magically manages to survive with Hakon. The following from dl1 had much better endings because even the best ending wasn't perfect
I finished the game for the first time just a few hours ago and got this ending although I wanted to get the ending where you leave with hakon lol. And as somebody who has been waiting for this game for years. The story actually seems quite short. I still think it's a fantastic game
I managed to get the ending with lawan but I chose to follow the truck instead of helping frank. Only difference is that frank dies (R.I.P. the homie) and after believing the Colonel and and getting Ambushed in the van by Matt. It's the night runners that show up and Cillian that calls out Matt and then is shunned by the other PK's. Then, at the end once spike enters the bar and gives Nikolas the package for frank, he says something like "news travels slow i see, Frank's no longer with us. But if it's for the leader of the NR's, I'll give it to lawan" instead of saying "no one wanted to talk to frank for 11 years and now all of a sudden now he's a celebrity". I'm annoyed though cause I could've saved my dawg frank and still could've gotten the best ending 🥲. I'm just hoping they add NG+ in the near future I really don't wanna delete my save.
just finished the game and had this ending, apparently I did exactly everything right, even one of the only side quests that I did was the one were you save Aitor with the healing lady and I did that correctly too, I thought this was always how the story ends only changing depending on the last few choices, I guess not. cool to see that I did everything exactly right, just wanted to share that.

I honestly just didn't really like the girl so I got the good ending for choosing to sacrifice her. Also accidentally got night runner ending because I gave the tower to frank even though I sided with the peacekeepers most of the game so that sucked

By far the best game all time. The soundtrack is awesome. The character dialog and interactions are amazing. Great voice over acting. 10 out of 10 in my book
Im pretty sure this isnt secret, i got this one just by playing and picking the obviously good choices so im gonna take a guess and say most people got this ending too
Tbh I like that the game took me the path I felt it should've taken me based on my actions. I got an ending where I saved Mia, saved the city, kept Hakon alive, and Lawan was also alive. I left back outside the walls on my own. Which was basically exactly how I wanted my ending to go. A lot of the choices felt forced but overall it gave me a pretty good feeling of choice.

So basically I did everything right but I sided with Matt on the bulkheads since I wanted to explore the new area post-game but I had no idea that impacts the ending cause I was wondering why Hakon or Lawan didn't join Aiden in the end. Guess I gotta start another new game plus and get the ending properly this time. This game is amazing with all the choices and stuff but I really hate how they lock you out of a portion of the map waiting to be explored that you can't get to unless you make a specific choice and only in the epilogue anyway. Really hope the DLC is worth it.
It was so obvious Jack was behind that ambush on Frank. Jack kept insisting to go after that truck. Then later on when they said those body from those "Renegades" were gone all of a sudden.
I decided to give the broadcast tower to the pk's in my first plathrough, on my second playthrough i gave it to frank and felt bad at first since rowe and that whole squad died for the mission, but everything was so much better with frank talking through the speakers, he lived, nightrunners came back, got to see who jack really was, the colonel lived, etc. It was sooo much better
I feel like the ending is underwhelmed just short cutscene with some text. They can let Aiden meet everyone, go watch around central loop or villedor to see the changes before he leaves
I have a question. My conclusion: -Why did I choose when I had to choose between Jack mate and Juan - I gave the tower to Frank -I segmented Frank -I chose the colonel over jack matt -I kept Hakon alive until the very end of the game -And I let Lawan blow up the rocket (Hakon saved him) But at the end the bartender talks about Juan and on the radio some Herald is talking instead of Frank... Regardless Frank is the leader of the town? I hope it's not Juan for some reason.
I gave all territories to the PK because I wanted the crossbow and also the boot kicker trophy. I still managed to get a survivor ending because I gave frank the tower he really wanted it. I left the city with lawan. Sadly the bazaar doesn’t recover on my playthrough, all because I wanted the OP crossbow. Good ending in the end though only thing I would change is giving the water tower to the bazaar in the beginning
At the end, when the guy talking through the siren or radio, when he said Good night and good luck. It would switch to the end credits and show an end credit scene of Kyle crane still alive but turns into a zombie at night, after that the credits will have the song horizon the main screen in DL1.
It doesn't make much sense that you can't drain the sunken town in order to get the ending that Lawan leaves with Aiden, in the sunken town, there's always goons and demolishers to fight to farm trophies.
This aint a secret ending, If you chose to save hakon, give the radio tower to frank and save mia you get this ending. Only those three choices have an impact on the ending. nothing else
it actually doesn't matter if you save Frank or not because you still get the same result because I did bc you end up facing off matt and the pks and still get the option to save lewan at very end and end up being together so your welcome
looking at this now really surprises me that I got this ending on my first run it seems really complicated and hard to get when listing everything out like this and then I just kinda, did everything without knowing I am very pleased with this
i feel like it's because its the right thing to do. even if you sided with the bazaar in old villedoor and saving aitor in the center would have been counter-intuitive, after you saw what happened to the herbalist when she was falsely accused of supplying the wrong medicine the first time youre like why would i do that again? Her character just screamed trustworthinesss, like she really cared about people even if it hurt her in the end.
if you side with the survivors, go all out with them and thats how i got the best and possibly intended ending the first try. trusting the colonel the first time was tricky but i think you get tipped off that Matt was behind almost killing frank so he lost that trust there. in the end, i almost went for Lawan but between her and the city i figured she'd die anyway plus i just saved frank's life so i didnt want him to die. I'm going to try the game again on the PK side all the way and see what happens. i want to see what happens when you go all in with Matt and then with Juan, but i'll probably do Juan first cause i like him more than Matt. Basically i'm going to try to see what happens when you treat the survivors like nothing but the enemy
The ending always bugged the crap out of me. Finding out Mia isnt your blood sister is a game changer in a bad way.. Basically going through so much for all of that, and saving her is so stupidly pointless because she just dies anyways with no additional dialogue. Also like what ever becomes of people like Thalia, Carl, Sophie, Aitor and all that?
Okay guys, so some things that you can get this ending different is that frank can die and you can still get this ending, i got this ending first attempt
the comparison of the two faction endings. choose the survivors and you see them helping poorer residents and making cheaper food. and if you choose pk you see them hanging people with their familys if just one of them have sold water "illegally"

Up to that point I'd been hardcore PK... but Rowe, Aitor, Lawan, and Frank really put into perspective how there's still caring people no matter the "side."
I liked the PK but my god the Bazaar people were insufferable, though the fish eye survivors were all great. I hate that they are labeled as the side instead of being a third option for nighturnners.

I slaughtered Hakon and saved Lawan in the end. The city was decimated by the missiles and never recovered. Everyone I knew died a horrible death. The end.

I would have gotten this ending my first playthrough, but I chose to save Lawan at the end, not realizing that meant blowing up the whole city. Hakon came with me, so I don't think it was the worst ending, but probably the 2nd worse.

I got the best ending but holy shit i didnt know i was playing with fire. I initially chose to save lawan but i was semi conflicted but then the game gave me a second chance to choose again with no countdown and i chose to let lawan save the city and hakon saved her so i got the best ending.

Aaaand been tiny step from this ending...got all made right on 1st pass...and "Save Lawan" happened;), tho got YT to check what's behind my missclick.
I achieved the secret ending by:
-Saving Hakon
-Saving Aitor by giving the small herbs
-Give the tower to Frank
-Being romantic to lawan on her quest
-Make Lawan not kill Hakon and drop her hit list
-I did let Frank die
-Supported the Colonel
-Let Lawan blow the charges and Hakon save her.
Like I said, all of this gave me secret ending.

I was making good decisions, and then I decided to let Lawan kill Hakon.
I instantly regretted it quit the game, and then restarted it, and then made the other choices.
So I sort ofcheated a little, but kudos to you for getting it right the first time
I somehow ended up with the true ending, which was partly because I liked Hakon and I didn't kill him during his boss fight. I'm glad that I saved him and it paid off after all.

For me this is the Ultimate Best Ending of Dying Light 2 Aiden & Lawan. I wish Hakon was there when Aiden & Lawan left off the city this would be a Huge Easter Egg for a Dying Light 3 where the Trio Aiden, Lawan & Hakon would definitely meet the former Pilgrim Nightrunner which is now clearly the Night Hunter Kyle Crane in action. Who knows we might see a clash or some cure to make Kyle Crane return to his senses.
Yea because it wouldn't be awkward at all for Lawan to travel with her ex boyfriend and her new boyfriend. They don't work as a trio long term.

Love how always ending up trying to save as many people as I can in these type of games always gets me the best ending just cuz I'm too nice to screw anyone over or be a dick even if it does get me an easier time in the game or rewards. Looking forward to the story dlcs hopefully they take into account if lawan left with you or not.
You may see it as saving everyone to be nice, but I saw it as saving everyone so I could continue to benefit from them for my own gain.

I chose the PK in the first chapter (Old Villedor). I couldn't stand the Survivors in that area. The PK seemed really reasonable and Aitor as their leader gave me the impression the devs really wanted us to kinda like the PK. That whole feeling flipped in Central Loop, though, and I almost immediately liked the Survivors more there than the PK. I got the perfect "secret" ending while siding with the PK in Old Villedor so no worries if you're on that rail!
Too bad that, in the end, just blindly siding with the Survivors the entire time seems to be the save bet.

The very last bit of the ending reminds me of stalker cinematics. Also, what do y’all think is better on the long run of the city. Peacekeeper or Survivors. PK’s cleaned out large portions of the city and made them safe from infected at the end, but hung every criminal and their family. The survivors were real kind, but you could see that the streets were still filled with infected.
Yup. No way it’s actually the best ending. They just don’t talk about how many people died. The survivors never demonstrated a viable plan forward but the game acts like it magically worked out despite any real change. 🤔
@@EdgeofAwesome well you can see the problems with the peacekeepers while still playing. As far as I know the PK do not evacuate the city if you give them VNC tower and frank does. We could now argue about what they would do with the rations from x13 but in my playthrough frank opens a canteen for people in need. PK care about their ingroup and I am not sure that they would help people once it really gets difficult.
Survivors are helping themselves, but pk would be better for rebuilding the new world

I'd say that in the first half of the game the PKs are better, and in the second half they switch places with Survivors
my only real complaints with this (from what i have seen, i have not played the game yet) is that i would have liked to see the butcher die and/or answer for his crimes and to have Mia survive a bit longer to catch up on things but i can understand why she only lasted as long as she could given her condition.
The colonel isn't responsible for the bombing but it was matt according to some reports
Oh yeah and matt is very vengeful character he only wanted to kill the colonel because back at the day when they were both at the military matt wanted to be the first in ranks but the colonel didn't allow it wich pissed him off a lot there are also some other examples of matt being cruel

@critter critter he doesn’t try to destroy the city, he just gave power to the city so he could save Mia at X13, which in turn activated the missiles because it was a safety measure if the infection spread too much in the city, and the only way to stop that safety measure would make it so that it wasn’t possible to save Mia.
A very good note for players in the game, is that you can give the PK all the water towers and powerplants and yet still work towards helping frank and stuff.
The towers, And powerplants do not matter for the story. So you can reap all the goodies and traps for the pk all over the map without worry about the endings.
Let's all be "Frank" here (I am not sorry) the survivor's rewards are kinda....garbage. like they are not useful at all. The traps, U.V lamps, and especially the crossbow pack are S tier stuff and are always useful and unlike the survivor npcs...the pk soldiers will actually come out to help you in a fight if your near any outposts and not die in an instant..
I disagree. Later on in the game, you have so much power that the PK rewards fall off, and all you care about is ability to get around quickly, where the survivors have huge gains.
Once i got the crossbow, game just became super ez and i was playing on hard 😂

@@bavaronii Lawan probably always goes with Aiden to X13. If you save Hakon, then basically never contact him again, he'll stay on Waltz's side.

Pretty sure Lawan only leaves with you if it's the full Frank route. I'm guessing it's because Frank takes over, which gives Lawan the comfort knowing that it's in good hands.
What made these choices easy for me were the survivors, Juan, and the Nightrunners. The survivors and Nightrunners believe in community, balance, and freedom. Those kinds of concepts are needed to thrive. Especially in the end of the world. And Juan is simply a charmer with no agenda. Just doing good business. And he has so much information like the Carriers. All of these are what made me get this ending on the first try!

I just finished and got this. Was so stoked after seeing all the other endings. Definitely the true ending.
I managed to get this ending on my first playthrough with a few different decisions. I sided with the PK the entire game until the radio tower, where I choose Frank, and I choose to run after the truck instead of saving him. I wish I had stayed to save Frank since I had successfully saved Aitor with the help of the witch, but Lawan still left with Aiden.

I got this on my first playthrough and was very confused because the videos I'd seen hadn't covered it! Although in my playthrough, I let Frank die and Jack Matt ended up living after the missile hit. The herbalist wasn't alive to save Frank. It's also sad that no matter what, Mia dies.
I did everything but didn't know what to pick, then the timer ran out, and it picked the crappiest decision possible between lawan and mia

Arguably there is better ending, if you open the flood gates. Lawan stays in the city at the end (which makes sense since she is the leader of the night runners). Also about the fact that the whole point of Aiden leaving is because he is a serious danger to others.

I really need your help though, not to mess up my playthrough.
My objectives are:
- Have the best ending (Survivors) with most or all characters alive (and preferably leave with Lawan instead of Hakon).
I'd also like the Bazaar being there (not destroyed) with Sophie running it in the end.
- At the same time, give all 7 Facilities to the PKs (to get all their faction rewards).
- Get most of the missable Inhibitors along the way.
By watching your videos (many, many times) I came up with a story progression & choices plan. Please tell me if it stands correct in your experience or there are any flaws:
1. Give all 3 story-based Facilities to the PKs.
- Horseshoe Water Tower in the "Water Tower" story quest.
- Downtown Electrical Station in the "A Place To Call Home" story quest.
- Garrison Electrical Station in the "Broadcast" story quest.
(not the antenna - just the Electrical Station)
Note:
This implies that I will play the "Into the Dark" story quest given by Aitor, instead of the "Revolution" story quest given by Sophie.
→ Due to this choice I will not get the hideout north of Trinity, and thus I will not be able to get the missable Inhibitors from there.
❑ So, I'll have to get them later through some co-op session where this hideout is present.
Note:
I don't know if in this path I will be forced to kill Sophie's brother Barney, and if yes, what consequences this will have to my relation with Sophie & the Bazaar in the end-game.
Moreover, will the Bazaar even exist in the end game with Sophie running it (since the PKs will destroy it)?
2. Give the remaining 4 open-world Facilities to the PKs in free-roam.
3. Agree to help Juan in the "Welcome On Board" story quest in order to play the "Cathedral" instead of "The Lost Light".
This will let me get the missable Inhibitors that are only present if you play the "Cathedral".
This is the only time I will cooperate with Juan, just to get the Inhibitors.
From now on, I will never side with him again.
4. Make sure Hakon lives till the end, on both the "Into the Dark" & "Nightrunners" story quests.
This way he will be able to save Lawan in the final "X13" story quest instead of me saving her.
Note:
I'll get the "Nightrunners" story quest instead of the "Empire" or "Spy Game", since I will give the VNC antenna to Frank (Survivors) later in "Broadcast".
5. Play the "Aitor" side quest and make sure Margaret the healer woman lives and stays present in my world.
I will need her later to save Frank.
6. Make sure Frank lives till the end.
- Make sure Margaret the healer woman is still alive & present in my world (through the "Aitor" side quest & in any other choice I make), so that she can heal Frank.
- In "The Breakthrough", where Frank gets shot, I will not chase the truck, but stay and help Frank instead.
7. Have the best possible relation with Lawan.
In "The Shoe" story quest & in any other dialog choice that results in a good relation build-up.
8. Give the VNC Tower antenna to Frank (Survivors).
9. Believe the Colonel (not Jack Matt) & tell Lawan that it was a conspiracy in "Now or Never".
10. In the final "X13" story quest, save Mia & let Lawan detonate the bombs (not choose to save her).
She will be saved by Hakon anyways.
So, that's my objectives & plan to achieve them.
Your opinion & input would be invaluable to me.

As far as I know, only the 1st one (“Water Tower” story quest) of the 1st Act slightly changes the story. Basically giving you “Into the Dark” by Aitor instead of “The Revolution” by Sophie. And as you said, this has minor to no impact in the ending.
The other 2 don’t change the story path (quests) at all in my understanding.

I kinda hate Sophie. The bazaar really teeters on cult territory, they try to hang you, then they spend the opening chapter of the game alternating between leading you into traps and using you as an executioner. When you actually get to "side" with her, it's only after she sent all of her most loyal people to kill you, and you do so as she holds a crossbow in your face, and all the while as her brother is the prime suspect for a murder investigation. Not a stellar impression, is all I'm saying

I got this ending too even when Frank died. I would stay with him, but my coop buddy convinced me to go after that car. Ruined the good feel in the late game for me so I am just starting a new game and want to do everything right. I missed a lot of side quests because my friend wanted to rush the main questline so I probably would play it again anyway. I recommend doing all side quests first when you can because some of them will be unavailable or glitched when you progress further in the story.
This is why when I play with my friends I’ll let them decide the big choices and just sit back for the ride. It’s their city after all
I know they shot many endings. But it seemed like a continuity error with the bartender saying Lawan was the leader of the Night runners when she'd left with Aidan.
Well, she did leave without telling anyone, which I think fits Lawan's impulsive character.

The only reason I chose to save Lawan is because I thought that would lead to a cop-out ending where everything is actually fine because I knew there'd be one that the game devs want you to choose. I thought that would be to save Lawan and somehow magically the city wouldn't blow up but apparently it was to leave Lawan and somehow she magically manages to survive with Hakon. The following from dl1 had much better endings because even the best ending wasn't perfect
I finished the game for the first time just a few hours ago and got this ending although I wanted to get the ending where you leave with hakon lol. And as somebody who has been waiting for this game for years. The story actually seems quite short. I still think it's a fantastic game

I managed to get the ending with lawan but I chose to follow the truck instead of helping frank. Only difference is that frank dies (R.I.P. the homie) and after believing the Colonel and and getting Ambushed in the van by Matt. It's the night runners that show up and Cillian that calls out Matt and then is shunned by the other PK's.
Then, at the end once spike enters the bar and gives Nikolas the package for frank, he says something like "news travels slow i see, Frank's no longer with us. But if it's for the leader of the NR's, I'll give it to lawan" instead of saying "no one wanted to talk to frank for 11 years and now all of a sudden now he's a celebrity".
I'm annoyed though cause I could've saved my dawg frank and still could've gotten the best ending 🥲. I'm just hoping they add NG+ in the near future I really don't wanna delete my save.
just finished the game and had this ending, apparently I did exactly everything right, even one of the only side quests that I did was the one were you save Aitor with the healing lady and I did that correctly too, I thought this was always how the story ends only changing depending on the last few choices, I guess not.

I couldn’t lie about this if I wanted to. I got the secret ending by accident on my first play through. The 1 side mission I actually did paid off in the end
By far the best game all time. The soundtrack is awesome. The character dialog and interactions are amazing. Great voice over acting. 10 out of 10 in my book

Tbh I like that the game took me the path I felt it should've taken me based on my actions. I got an ending where I saved Mia, saved the city, kept Hakon alive, and Lawan was also alive. I left back outside the walls on my own. Which was basically exactly how I wanted my ending to go. A lot of the choices felt forced but overall it gave me a pretty good feeling of choice.

So basically I did everything right but I sided with Matt on the bulkheads since I wanted to explore the new area post-game but I had no idea that impacts the ending cause I was wondering why Hakon or Lawan didn't join Aiden in the end. Guess I gotta start another new game plus and get the ending properly this time. This game is amazing with all the choices and stuff but I really hate how they lock you out of a portion of the map waiting to be explored that you can't get to unless you make a specific choice and only in the epilogue anyway. Really hope the DLC is worth it.

I decided to give the broadcast tower to the pk's in my first plathrough, on my second playthrough i gave it to frank and felt bad at first since rowe and that whole squad died for the mission, but everything was so much better with frank talking through the speakers, he lived, nightrunners came back, got to see who jack really was, the colonel lived, etc. It was sooo much better

I feel like the ending is underwhelmed just short cutscene with some text. They can let Aiden meet everyone, go watch around central loop or villedor to see the changes before he leaves

I had everything perfect if i just chose to let lawan detinate the bombs 😭
I have a question. My conclusion:
-Why did I choose when I had to choose between Jack mate and Juan
- I gave the tower to Frank
-I segmented Frank
-I chose the colonel over jack matt
-I kept Hakon alive until the very end of the game
-And I let Lawan blow up the rocket (Hakon saved him)
But at the end the bartender talks about Juan and on the radio some Herald is talking instead of Frank... Regardless Frank is the leader of the town? I hope it's not Juan for some reason.
I gave all territories to the PK because I wanted the crossbow and also the boot kicker trophy. I still managed to get a survivor ending because I gave frank the tower he really wanted it. I left the city with lawan. Sadly the bazaar doesn’t recover on my playthrough, all because I wanted the OP crossbow. Good ending in the end though only thing I would change is giving the water tower to the bazaar in the beginning

I tried to save Lawan and ended up blowing up the whole city, losing Mia and leaving without Lawan. At least my bro Hakan had my back in the end.
I got the bad ending the first time I beat it. I regret my choice to join the pk. Glad I played it again and got the good ending
At the end, when the guy talking through the siren or radio, when he said Good night and good luck. It would switch to the end credits and show an end credit scene of Kyle crane still alive but turns into a zombie at night, after that the credits will have the song horizon the main screen in DL1.
Do you have to do the side quest with aitor to get the ending?
It doesn't make much sense that you can't drain the sunken town in order to get the ending that Lawan leaves with Aiden, in the sunken town, there's always goons and demolishers to fight to farm trophies.

This aint a secret ending, If you chose to save hakon, give the radio tower to frank and save mia you get this ending. Only those three choices have an impact on the ending. nothing else

i was hoping after they said "Good night, and good luck" the Dying Light 1 Main Theme would have played
it actually doesn't matter if you save Frank or not because you still get the same result because I did bc you end up facing off matt and the pks and still get the option to save lewan at very end and end up being together so your welcome
But if you side with william you will never unlock the secret district under water :(

it seems really complicated and hard to get when listing everything out like this and then I just kinda, did everything without knowing

i feel like it's because its the right thing to do. even if you sided with the bazaar in old villedoor and saving aitor in the center would have been counter-intuitive, after you saw what happened to the herbalist when she was falsely accused of supplying the wrong medicine the first time youre like why would i do that again? Her character just screamed trustworthinesss, like she really cared about people even if it hurt her in the end.
What happened to Mia? did she die?
I got this: Hakon saved Mia, and Aiden saved Lawan. City got destroyed. Hakon left with Aiden in the end.

if you side with the survivors, go all out with them and thats how i got the best and possibly intended ending the first try. trusting the colonel the first time was tricky but i think you get tipped off that Matt was behind almost killing frank so he lost that trust there. in the end, i almost went for Lawan but between her and the city i figured she'd die anyway plus i just saved frank's life so i didnt want him to die.
I'm going to try the game again on the PK side all the way and see what happens. i want to see what happens when you go all in with Matt and then with Juan, but i'll probably do Juan first cause i like him more than Matt. Basically i'm going to try to see what happens when you treat the survivors like nothing but the enemy
If you go with juan and do specific choices you can get the "renegete ending" 😅

It's nuts how early you can botch any hopes of the ending for Lawan coming with you.
The ending always bugged the crap out of me. Finding out Mia isnt your blood sister is a game changer in a bad way.. Basically going through so much for all of that, and saving her is so stupidly pointless because she just dies anyways with no additional dialogue. Also like what ever becomes of people like Thalia, Carl, Sophie, Aitor and all that?

Okay guys, so some things that you can get this ending different is that frank can die and you can still get this ending, i got this ending first attempt
It’s not secret. You just don’t simp for the PKs the entire game like everyone seemed to be doing lmao.
the comparison of the two faction endings. choose the survivors and you see them helping poorer residents and making cheaper food. and if you choose pk you see them hanging people with their familys if just one of them have sold water "illegally"
So doing whatever I felt was right ended up being the correct things to get the true ended, nice
