We have the same swing... And everything is working perfectly... only the mobile with hanging fishes isn’t working or spinning... I tried to figure it out... but I didn’t understand... is there any other compartment for the batteries for this part of swing...?
In the top white section where it turn downwards there is a slot facing the back, insert something thin and wide in the slot, like an spatula or butter knife and pop the cover off. You can see the slot in the video around the 5.36 mark.
Debra Jamieson watch from 5min 19 seconds. The there are push locks which allow you to shorten the height on the legs. On the back of the white plastic where the legs go in, tthere are push locks which release the legs to swing together.

You didn't put the legs out all the way. Hope the swing never tipped over.
Do you have any idea how long does the batteries last ?
It all depends on how much you use it. My child went through two sets in a year.
