- Three Syrian children seek refuge over the Turkish border where teachers try to help them cope with the trauma of war.
Over the past three years, many of the small towns on the Turkish side of Syrias's northern border have been inundated with refugees fleeing the conflict. Kilis is one of these towns, in 2013 it was estimated to be home to 40,000 Syrian refugees, and this figure is steadily rising.
Most of the Syrian refugees are children - many of them have been exposed to severe trauma, all have faced agonising hardships.
Mohamad, Noor and Farid are three Syrian refugee children who all reside in Kilis, though live through different refugee experiences.
All the kids are unified by a struggle that does not normally make the headlines - the battle to regain their childhood. But the landscape they live in is not devoid of hope and help is at hand from a group of Syrian teachers who are about to use a surprising tool to help children cope with the traumas of war - puppetry.
From simple hand puppets to an elaborate puppet movie produced abroad, the teachers learn how to use puppetry to help Syrian children deal with the daily hardships of being a refugee.
Witness meets three Syrian children seeking refuge over the Turkish border and follows the work of the Syrian teachers trying to help kids cope with the traumas of war.

What beautiful children presenting their stories, you can see the innocent spirit for life and sparkle in their eyes, compared to the poor tainted IS children from Syrian camps throwing messages of hate and killing to reporters.
to see the faces of so many innocent children. all they want is to go to school in peace. thats not asking for much. when will the world wake up. we need to listen to our children it seems to me they are the smart ones here. they dont want war. war never solved anything. stop this act of senceless killing. no one wins we all loose

How are traumatized puppets supposed to help the children forget? They are just reminding them of the conflict over and over.
To open them up to speaking about their experiences. Puppets are used in therapy.

I truly feel sorry for these kids but man the Syrians think they own Turkey! I got into fights with many in my city, they act like they own the city and have the courage to make me do something or give my seat up for them. First the gypsies now these refugees.

this is just unbelievable im sorry i sympathize with these kids but i think they were told to say what theyve said im not saying its a lie but bruh theyre like 7-8 yrs old and they speak like theyre 16-19 i mean when i was 10 or so i couldnt probably complete a sentence not that i was mentally ill or something i was just idk too young to be so expressive and talkative its just hard to believe and they explain with great detail im like bruh -.-

+Scott McCall Thnx for helping. your idea brought me a lot of new friends her in Europe. They complain for not having a television ? ( European broadcast sucks) Even here there is no serious back up to support the kids. So nothing changed, they are waiting and suffering there apocalypse journey into the unknowing in shelters around Europe and nothing makes a boom so far. They are welkom as long they come in peace and not shoot to kill.

Obscura66 you are misinterpreting my point... sure those kids lives are as valuable as any other kids, but displaying those sufferings and using them to prove a political point of view is propaganda!
Its the viewer thoughts witch indicates what he want to see. You can hear to what they say but you also can listen to what is needed most. This is not propaganda,it's a film showing the inhumanity off all sides of the conflict. Assad Isis Turkey even the Arab nations and the EU must be ashamed of this fact.
