    24:33 I think it would be a good idea to move the industrial area to a further location, and instead the cargo port become a passenger port, which would be a classy place for cruise ships. You can create a luxury marina with skyscrapers and star hotels and there are a small number of reclaimed islands for luxury housing. You can also create an island containing city landmarks. I'm also thinking about connecting the city's sea route and the industrial area by making a canal that can be passed by cargo ships from the marina in the city later, where you can make many iconic bridges across the canal. I really hope you can make this happen, thanks my friend.

    • @SanctumGamer

      I already have a passenger port built with some landmarks around. This is closer to the city center, an area I plan to expand on further in time.

    I think those high pollution factories should stay in the port area, give yourself the limitation of building around the pollution. Also, those factories would be realistic to stay there, and you likely would have the large employment base closer to residents.

      For what it's worth, we are technically outside the city. The main highway running through the city has already been upgraded to 3 lanes. Either way, as development continues to increase around the highway, it'll be upgraded accordingly.

    The time you take to smooth out every bump and fix every corner gives us viewers so much satisfaction. Like I said before your builds are a sweet meld between aestheticism
    and realism. Over all the city and towns are very organic and nothing looks out of place. And to top it off your have a calm and collected demeanor and a soothing voice.

    I'd like to suggest something for your videos if you'd like;
    You should add a 15-20 minute segment in your videos from now on, either adding on or taking a chunk out of your existing video length, simply improving upon or making adjustments to existing infrastructure within the city. Based either upon how it has interacted with the added content or based on the viewer's comments with existing, valid, ideas.
    Again, just a suggestion.

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's great idea, and it's something I do, but I usually plan it as a big chunk of a video. But will try and squeeze more fixes into videos more regularly.

    Great stuff as usual, but I feel like the track going to the cargo harbor train station is really impractical, looping all the way around. It would be quicker for the trains to connect the station to the existing tracks going out from the opposite direction of the station. You'd have to redo a bit of area but it would be much more practical. :)

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  8 месяцев назад +1

      Might be impractical, but when I experimented with cutting the tracks through the industry, I didn't like the look. So I made a "creative" decision to rather run it out wide 😅 If my plans work out, I think it will all come together once the area is developed up.

    24:23 I think that this area of pollution should just be farmland anyway. It’s a very open and flat piece of land and if that other area is gonna be that fertile, this area should be too. You can keep small residential pockets in the blue shaded areas.

  • @jimdotcom1972

    1) you need to design the subway system like you did your bus network. 2) i like the habour being the location for your industry, it feels integrated into the city rather than shoved off onto some other area of the map, if you were to move any industry then moving the power plant that's creating the poisoned forrest down to the harbour would be best, it would open up a lot of land for new suburbs. 3) you don't have to worry so much about new suburbs near poisonous industry if..... you have a decent subway network to move the workers around your city, then the poison plume from the habour stops being so difficult.

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  8 месяцев назад

      I'd think the poison plumes affects cims in the residential areas and not whilst they in transit or at work? That's why residences complain, but shops, industry, and offices don't?

    • @jimdotcom1972
      @jimdotcom1972 8 месяцев назад

      @@SanctumGamer yes, my point is you don't have to place the suburbs next to your industry because your subway system will connect them efficiently as if they were next door, so you don't have to worry about the pollution because you can palce your suburbs further away and still have easy access for your workers.

      @@SanctumGamer think about common high volume destinations and how people nearby can access them - for example, if one has the train station in sight, can they walk there, is it possible to cross the railway etc. check along railways and highways and keep an eye on important destinations along them. Bus routing tool can also provide insight on how cars travel around significant barriers like rails.

    I have 2 questions, why dont you use the parallel mode for the highways? And I have also noticed you dont seem to use the slope tool for doing a nice gradient between to elevations.
    Also I dont think you need to actually use the dev mode panel anymore for resources. I think the anarchy mod now has all the resources in the landscaping tools menu so you can paint them down.
