Sad to see old trains go on to other areas of the UK, even after the year it's been. Although in my opinion the 319's sound cooler on the AC motors, 321's are still cool :)
It was a sad day when London Midland got rid of their Class 321 units. These are most reliable trains in Britain but they have started a new life in Scotland & they will spend the rest their life there These trains are gone on the West Coast Mainline but not forgotten.
321's showing their age now but certainly one of the better trains BREL ever made for their time. Too bad the UK was terrible at exporting though. Could have made a pretty penny.
For a 1980s-90s design the 320s, 321s and 322s all have a nice modern look to them especially at the cab ends (which I love), and the startup sound of the traction motors is simply awesome. However the modern look is spoilt somewhat by the interior and opening windows...
+Andison Iu Oh dear yes, they must have the worst seats and seating layout of anything currently running. Not only do they seem to be designed to be as uncomfortable as possible, they don't match up with windows at all.
I disagree with the doors. For heavy use commuter/suburban trains sliding doors are infinitely more preferable than plug type because of reliability for one thing, and speed being the other. The faster you can open and shut the doors, the less dwell time you need at each station. No Japanese train operator in their right mind would order trains with plug doors, with their time keeping and passenger numbers. No one really cares about the looks of the doors. They just want the doors to open and quick. I do agree about the interiors though. More effort could have been made to keep them up-to-date but the seating was just so comfortable compared to now.
What has happened to the intermediate cars? Have they been scrapped? I hope not, though I suppose these units have given 27 years or service already! Quite impressive really.
Shame they've moved. Will we ever see them run at 100 mph again? Used to look forward to a 2 ½ hour journey from New St. to Euston on these. The joy of a low 'Ashbourne' seat in NSE moquette and those whining Brush motors... Desiros, just aren't the same:(
All other Scottish EMUs have been 3 cars, 303, 314, 318, 320, 334 etc. So I guess they had to be reduced to 3 cars to make them interchangeable with the existing units.

A nostalgic sound when they start off. Reminds me of 72 stock on the Tube.
WOW GREAT VIDEO!!!! I been on all of the units in Glasgow and have too say 412 has got to be the best one

I used to get on one every day on the St Albans Abbey to Watford Junction like, i miss them :(
William Webb Ah you never know. If one Class 319 is out they may hire in a 321
William Webb o
But still Scotland has more "Dusty Bins" to play with
Uhh GEML class 321...

AndreiTupolev same problem with class 390s

Absolutely nice video, thanks for sharing.
The scottish stationside shots were filmed either at Wishaw or Carluke , and last at Lanark
Beautiful this train service! 7:53sec.💖
What's happening to the coach they took out? Scotland is always going on about capacity yet they don't seem to be too bothered it seems.
I wondered why I saw a couple of 319's in a depot on the way to Liverpool on Friday
Philip Davis northern railway
Question answered 😎
For the 2 to last shot how come the signals turn red after the full train has gone? Is it manually operated?
Nope, M stands for Motherwell - the signalling centre...
that's strange the class 320s don't use London midland livery they use mainly scotrail livery mate
Does scotlandeliscopy your vids
wow

Should have given it another 20 years of life before it was taken on to Scotrail if you ask me.
@@jamtart606 why? They’re due for scrap in 2025 anyway.
That last shot was nicely timed!
+xDunttinho 2016 What?: What the hell are you talking about? reporting this.
What happened to the open coach they took away from the 321 to make it a 320

390h8er thank god there's more on my line
Loved 87s myself but would rather do a 321 than a Skoda 90 back in the day!!
390h8er there is 1 trip a day in the evening peak using a 321 between London and Norwich and hat hits 100mph
I thought theyd always been limited to 95mph?
I love the way it sounds❤❤❤
Awesome video! Love these trains.
Why would an older train replace a more new train?!
Very Very good video Mate :-). I like it :-)
why did scot rail not keep the 321s The 320s are shorter and they join them up why n 8 cars
Most stations the trains operate on are only built for 6 coach sets
dosen't stop Northern rail operating a 8 car train from Wigan north western to Liverpool Lime St on most days i think it was the 1902 off wigan

NathTrains Are you NathLCs In ROBLOX?!
why are seats not allinged with the windows in modern trains
Because of wheelchair spaces, extra toilets
Alhamdoulillah
